This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of May, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [2556], new Associate Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Miss [873].

R E A D I N G

Born September 30, 1910, in Brooklyn, N.Y. Time of Reading 11:20 to 12:10 P. M. Eastern Daylight Saving Time. ..., N.Y.

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity and that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

3. Yes, we are given the record here of that entity now known as [2556].

4. As the entity is a Uranian as well as an Atlantean, we find that - as has been indicated for others - it is one of those that will have much to do with thought and activities of individuals throughout its sojourn in this experience.

5. The entity is naturally a leader; one that must DO - no matter what circumstance or environ arises in its experience. It will go, whether ahead or backward! It will not stand still!

6. As we have indicated, such an entity will either make for great advancement or great retardment in this experience; depending upon whether there is the adherence to the ideals of the entity as constructive, creative influences, or the attempt to force issues.

7. In analyzing the records here as we find them, these are chosen to be given with the desire and the purpose that this may be a helpful experience for the entity; enabling it, in a manner, to fulfillthat purpose for which it entered this sojourn.

8. To no true Uranian or Atlantean do the astrological

aspects mean other than a means, or an inclination or tendency. Thus, for this entity, more may be gained from sojourns in the earth - as to the possibilities, the adaptability and the purposes, and from the manner in which the entity applied itself to those activities.

9. As for the urges latent and manifested from astrological aspects, these are existent not merely because of the position of the planets nor because even of the signs under which the entity caught those activities in the earth, but rather because of the use of the entity's abilities in relationships to universal consciousness when not in the three-dimensional plane.

10. The entity is a "sensitive," yet one well versed in many ways in the occult, the mystic influences, the signs and omens - whether conscious or same or not.

11. Hence the interest evinced by the entity in matters of that nature.

12. The entity in the material sojourns has had experiences in many varied fields of activity.

13. Hence the entity is one high in mental abilities, with the ability to analyze most any character of situation; and who reads individuals in a very definite way and manner.

14. These become, then, the natural tendencies in the experience.

15. Thus the entity may gain a great deal of satisfaction in any form of service, or activity in relationships with others, in which there are the needs of detailed activity, or of the ability to learn what is the basic influence or force that would direct the individual in its activity.

16. As to whether these are used as helpful influences in the experience of the entity or not depends upon what have been and are the ideals of the entity.

17. Thus in the busy, everyday activity it is well that the entity stop oft and analyze self - as to what have been and are the promptings of the impelling influence for the entity in this or that direction.

18. Also the entity may gain a great deal through those channels as one that might engage in detective work, or in this searching out of information or data - as will be seen from the activities of the entity in the sojourns in the earth.

19. Also the abilities to write, or to supply data for activities or determining factors in the experiences of individuals or groups - these, too, have been a part of the entity's activity or experience.

20. All of these, then, are latent and manifested urges in the entity's activities in the present experience.

21. The astrological urges, as indicated, are latent, and do not form what might be termed an impelling or directing influence. For, the entity has lived and does live its own experience; and it makes judgements or decisions within its activity as it draws upon circumstance, judgement AND the ideal for choices to be made.

22. As to the appearances in the earth - we find that these have been many; yet all of these are not given or indicated here in the present. For, one grows in grace or in knowledge. Knowledge is not always wisdom. Knowledge may be power, but power is not always directed in a constructive manner.

23. It depends again, then, upon the purposes, aims and ideals that become the directing influence for the individual.

24. Before this the entity was in the land of the present nativity, in the early periods of the settlings in this land; when there were choices for changes being made by the various characters of groups that formed the mass and the individual movement in the relationships of individuals with material, as well as social and mental problems of the period.

25. The entity was helpful in the greater part of that experience, as an instructor and an aid in the keeping of the records of activities as to the sale or distribution or disposition of lands and holdings of individuals in that period.

26. Then in the name Dorothy Harkness, the entity gained and lost; gained in the activity of being creative and constructive, lost when this was turned into the influences for self's own expression without true regard for that which is the universal law - "As ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them."

27. From that experience the abilities arise in the present, yet also disappointments in individuals.

28. Before that the entity was in the Roman land, when there were choices made by individuals for companionship with those who were set in authority in varied lands.

29. The entity was a companion to one set in authority by the Roman governors in what is now known as the Macedonian land.

30. Hence we find the entity's present interest in those happenings of that period, through the peoples that - though under the rule of others - held to their own legends, their own manner of expression in the social as well as the proposed spiritual welfare of groups.

31. The entity then was active in gathering data that

enabled its associates, or its companion, to hold power or influence in meeting the various periods of activity through that sojourn.

32. As a student of human nature, a psychologist as would be termed in the present, were the activities of the entity that brought helpful forces for its associates, and the more often in the lives and experiences of those from whom the entity gathered such information, such data.

33. Hence that interest indicated in the present, and the knowledge or understanding of the ways and activities of individual groups in many portions of the land, or in many portions of the earth; the interest in things of unusual natures, things that are the basic forces of the common peoples as well as the manners and means in which those set in authority keep their union of activity with the masses of the peoples of many lands.

34. Thus in the entity's present interest in peoples, peoples' activities, rather than in things.

35. Again it would be given, then, that the entity needs to know its own ideal, and the author of same; not only as to what it believes, but as to Who is the author of that belief; also as to whether that author is able to keep whatever may be committed unto Him against any experience that may arise in the urges latent and manifested in the experience of each soul - whether body and its urges, mind and its ramifications, or spirit and its truth.

36. The entity in that experience was known as Eukla.

37. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, when there were turmoils and strifes arising in the land.

38. The entity was among those of the Atlanteans who came into Egypt, and whose land was destroyed during that period. Hence the entity was among the children of the Law of One that entered the Egyptian; land; being a priestess in Poseidia, and brought much of the record that was attempted to be preserved for future activity, future proofs to those who would seek out these influences that were the happenings in the Atlantean land.

39. It would be well for the entity to gain all of that as urged by groups or individuals to acquaint man with the truth or the possibilities or that land, the Atlantean, and the message it is to bring to the earth yet again.

40. Through that sojourn it might be said that the entity was the directing influence in bringing about a correlation of those truths for the peoples. Though the entity did not foregather with those who attempted to overcome or to take advantage of the rebellions in the Egyptian land, the entity was a directing influence to those of that period who

attempted to correlate their activities with the Priest and with those of the land who would be a helpful influence in the experiences of individuals, and also to bring about a development of those who were in a lower stage - among the Atlanteans as well as the Natives of the Egyptian land, as well as of those that in the present would be called the Intelligencia.

41. Thus we find the basic truth that is and should be the prompting of the entity's activities in the present - "Not by might nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts."

42. Those were the principles, the tenets upon which the entity through that sojourn based its activity that brought the greater helpful forces in the experience of individuals.

43. SO may the entity in the present; not through might, not by power, not by other than the spirit of truth - which is man's own birthright, to make himself and to be one with Creative Forces or God, irrespective of those in position or in power that feed only their own vanity or seek gratifying of material appetites.

44. The name then was Esdrelda - a priestess of Poseida.

45. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, then, - the experience through the Atlantean and the Egyptian sojourn so overshadows the others as to be that force or power that should be the greater expression in the present.

46. The fields or channels or manners to and through which the entity may apply itself may best be expressed in this:

47. First - know thyself and thy purpose in the earth. Then - study to show THYSELF approved unto thy ideal; keeping self unspotted from that which condemns others or which makes self afraid.

48. For, the power and the might of the spirit of truth is each soul's, each entity's heritage - to those who put their whole trust in Him.

49. Ready for questions.

50. (Q) Am I in the right field of work, and in the right part of the country? (A) As indicated from the sojourn in these particular areas or portions of the land, it is well. And the greater accomplishments may be attained there. As to the field of activitys - this should be the choice of the entity in keeping with its ideal.

51. (Q) What is the reason for the difficulty in attaining desired ends? (A) Do not attempt, too oft, to force issues. For, remember, it is not by might nor by power, but that

whosoever is called the spirit quickeneth.

52. (Q) Should I take the time and make the effort now to go into the study of medicine? (A) This would be very good, if it is applied in those fields that are in keeping with the promptings of thy own purpose.

53. (Q) How have I been associated in the past with the following, and what have we to work out together in the present life: First, my sister, [R...]? (A) As we find here, it may be termed that this is the first close association - as indicated by the indifferences that so oft arise between the two.

54. (Q) My sister, [E...]? (A) Close associations in the experience before this, as well as in the Macedonian land. There the association was as a close friend, one to the other.

55. (Q) My brother, [H...]? (A) In the Egyptian land - the brother was then an Egyptian, and the entity favored him - in making for beneficient influences that brought about union of activities in much of that prompted by the Priest of the period.

56. (Q) Is there any particular part of the country that would be more suited for me? (A) As we find, this is the best center from which to work; but we would often make trips and lecture.

57. (Q) Are there any particular contacts I could make that would help me make more advancement in the direction I should take? (A) These as we find are very well that are being made from time to time. Use them, but don't abuse them.

58. (Q) Should I definitely follow all my hunches? (A) When they are not against thy ideals, yes. For, as has been indicated, the entity is "sensitive." Thus, as might be said, the entity is psychic; or, all things make impressions upon the entity's urges and activities.

59. (Q) Is it indicated as to when I shall marry, and where I shall meet my mate? (A) As we find, the greater possibility or probability is in that one already met. As to when this should be or may be - these are the problems that each, of course, must answer for self. Let not thy ability as an analyzer of problems stand in thy way, but know that ye must hold to the ideals. Let the law of love, mercy, grace, be in thy word, thy act, in thy associations with others. Those who would have friends much

show themselves friendly. Those who would have directions must give that they know. Those who would put their trust in that which fadeth away will surely be disappointed.
