1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here.
3. As we find, there are conditions that are gradually being disturbed by those disturbances of rather the specific nature that are causing deflections through the body - the correction of which in the present would relieve these tensions and disturbances that are being created.
4. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [2561] we are speaking of, present in this room:
5. In the blood supply we find those conditions existent that indicate a specific area of deflection in impulse to the activity of certain organs. These involvements produce deflected conditions that may grow worse unless something is done to correct same.
6. We find in the nervous systems the sources of the disturbance, which exist from a subluxation in the upper portion of the 8th and 9th dorsal. This causes those periods in which the body grows tired easily from physical exertion, or from a great deal of mental activity. For, this is the area from which there is not only the involving of the organs of assimilation but that center through which there are the reflexes when a great deal of mental activity is used or is desired by the body.
7. This overmental activity causes a deflection of nerve forces through the secondary centers from which eyes, ears, nose and all of the sensory system receive impulses for the perfect circulation.
8. Then a little dull headache at times occurs through the temple; at other periods it may be through the eyes.
9. Also there is a condition resulting in the assimilation, or the formation of gas in part of the intestinal system if
2561-1 Page 2
there is the attempt to take food when the body is under stress or disturbance.
10. These we see, then, are deflections from those conditions existent in the cerebrospinal system where it connects with the central nervous system, the sympathetic nerve system, and especially the vagus center.
11. Consequently, there is a sympathetic expression in the cervical and the 1st and 2nd dorsal area.
12. We find that this subluxation in the 8th and 9th dorsal was caused from a wrench, or a strain produced some time ago.
13. These reflect upon the organs themselves of the body; though we do not find ORGANIC but sympathetic disturbances, from those reflexes produced in functionings of organs from deflected energies in portions of the body.
14. Brain forces and their reflexes are very good; the entity being one that analyzes well all activities and associations. Hence with these gradual disturbances to the sensory system the body becomes a bit anxious, because - in the attempt to use the impulses as indicated to the mental forces of the body - these disturbances and reactions have arisen in the organs of the sensory force.
15. Eyes, ears, nasal passages, the bronchi or vocal box, and the general sympathetic nerve system especially as related to the organs of the sensory system, are sympathetically involved; though none of these in the present have organic disturbance - but nervous disturbance - through their functioning.
16. Lungs, heart - we find that when there are nervous strains there is a quickening of the pulsation, though NOT an organic disturbance.
17. The lungs are very good, though - with the character of indigestion, or nervous digestion - there is a feeling of fullness in the lower portion at times.
18. The liver, spleen and pancreas - with the gas that at times is the result of deflection - are inclined to form pressures in portions of the system that may lead to a neuritic reaction.
19. For, with the upsetting of these, we have twitching pains at times in the muscular forces of the body; especially in extremities - forearm, just below the shoulder, through the calf of the leg at times, and in part of the activity to the sciatic center. These are only reflexes from poisons not eliminated and causing these conditions.
20. The activity of the liver itself is being slowed up, as an excretory and secretive functioning. Hence an
2561-1 Page 3
unbalancing of chemical conditions in the system may result, and produce a greater distress upon the kidneys, bladder, AND the activities of the organs of elimination as related to their coordination with eliminations through the alimentary canal, through the respiratory and perspiratory system, and with the lungs themselves.
21. Hence these MIGHT become serious. Yet, as we find, with corrections made in the present the causes may be removed and bring near normal conditions to this body.
22. In making applications, then - these we would do in this manner:
23. First, under the direction of such an one as Dobbins, we would have at least six osteopathic and mechanical adjustments; with special reference to the 8th and 9th dorsal, the 1st and 2nd dorsal, throughout the cervical; THEN coordinate the lumbar axis with the corrections made.
24. Following the six osteopathic adjustments, begin with the hydrotherapy - which is needed with the corrections to purify the superficial circulation and to stimulate better activity, through the massage as would be given during such treatments. These we would take twice a week until four or five are taken - then they may be taken farther apart. At such times, massage the body with Pine Oil. Take occasionally, but only about once in three to four weeks, the Cabinet Sweat; this only using the Dry Heat. DO NOT raise the temperature too high, for this body.
25. Do not begin these hydrotherapy treatments, however, until the first six osteopathic adjustments have been made. With the first of the hydrotherapy, purify the colon, see?
26. Then, after taking four or five of the hydrotherapy, have another three to four of the adjustments.
27. In the matter of the diet - we find here a tendency towards an unbalancing of the chemical reactions; not only from the effects of the nervous system but of that which has been produced by those deflections in the functioning organs.
28. Add the Vitamins A and D to the body. Take One-A-Day tablets, and just one a day; that is sufficient of that resistant element.
29. Then have the regular diet, well balanced, well proportioned.
30. Keep away from too much starches or the combinations of white bread with potatoes or macaroni or combinations of cheese. Though these may be a part of the diet at times, do not overdo same - and never any two of them at the same meal.
31. Also keep away from carbonated drinks of all kinds.
2561-1 Page 4
These, with this unbalanced condition, tend to produce too much carbon activity in the system; tending to cause a lack of proper eliminations.
32. With these applications, we should bring near normal conditions for this body.
33. Ready for questions.
34. (Q) Shall I continue treatments with present physician? (A) We would give rather, let's give the treatments suggested here an honest try. For, we will find great changes coming about BEFORE even the six osteopathic adjustments are made!
35. (Q) Would an operation be advisable? (A) Not if these corrections are done in the manner as we have indicated, for there will not be the necessity for same.
36. (Q) Is the trouble of malignant nature? (A) Not a malignant nature.
37. (Q) What is reason for low blood pressure? (A) As indicated, the slowing of this circulation between heart, liver and lungs; and lack of resistance in the body. Hence the needs for adding the vitamins as indicated.
38. (Q) What is reason for loss of weight? (A) Lack of proper assimilation and the using up or going on nerve energy.
39. (Q) What is the cause of the nervous state, or what is major contributing factor? (A) A subluxation in the upper portion of the 9th dorsal, between the 8th and 9th, that causes these conditions - the slowing of the circulation, the using of the energies, and the organs becoming sympathetically involved.
40. (Q) Are present medicines beneficial and should they be continued? (A) For the mind's sake, taper off gradually - but they may be dismissed.
41. (Q) What means, if any, will secure natural eliminations without artificial methods? (A) First, in the hydrotherapy, purify the colon; then the adjustments that aid in setting aright the organs of the body in their functioning will stimulate peristaltic activity. Then control same by diet.
42. (Q) Is it possible to overcome the present condition resulting from operation? (A) If there is the character of treatment indicated, to clarify and purify the system, and to bring about coordinant relationships to the organs and the nervous systems of the body - yes.
43. (Q) What procedure is suggested? (A) This has been given.
2561-1 Page 5
Do that. Throughout this activity, keep the constructive mind; that is, not dwelling upon some of the things that have been told the body as to those activities through the system resulting from the adhesions that have been formed, as well as the conditions that have been a result of this suppression. For, know that these conditions indicated are the sources - and operative measures did not remove the causes.
