Time of Reading 10:30 to 11:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions, for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2563].

3. Now as we find, there is a specific cause of the disturbances that arise in this body. While there are many disturbed factors and conditions, these arise from one most specific cause.

4. As is oft ordinarily seen, the effects are misinterpreted as being causes.

5. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [2563] we are speaking of, present in this room:

6. In the blood supply we find there are indications of what might be termed a short circuiting; that is, the circulation through the lungs, the liver, the heart and the kidneys does not pass ALL the way through these in the cycle.

7. Thus we find fullnesses that occur at times when the body becomes tired, a little dizziness, an upsetting of the blood pressure, and the acute conditions as may arise in the assimilation or eliminations.

8. We find that the specific causes of these are from a subluxed condition in the gall duct and in the liver area.

9. Hence the circulation is affected through these deeper-seated organs, and at times involves all of these in the disturbance; causing at times a very poor superficial circulation.

10. Consequently, at times we have cold, clammy conditions occurring over the exterior portions of the body - as the feet or the hands, or across the end of the spine, or across the shoulder or head; not always - these come rather as periodical disturbances.

2563-1 Page 2

11. Disturbance is then caused at other times through the activity of the kidneys; that is, eliminations may at times be sparse, at others rather quick or quantitative. These all are reflexes.

12. Hence we do not find any ORGANIC conditions with the central portions of the body, or the organs in same, but sympathetic conditions in the functioning of same; produced by this disturbance.

13. So, unless there are changes wrought, this may produce other conditions that may become acute or of greater disturbance than the source or the cause of the present condition.

14. In the nerve system - naturally, under these stresses, there are those variations of conditions that affect the nerve force.

15. When there are those irritations to these conditions, we might say that it is a sign of one or the other of the organs flaring up; and the body becomes easily irritated, at times; little things that at some times would scarcely be noticed would at other times be reasons for disturbance in the mental reflexes - and then it may pass off.

16. These are indications, as we find, of the natures of disturbance.

17. As may be indicated, this - too - causes this tiredness at times; the flaring up in the mental attitudes towards individuals, towards things, towards conditions - which are reflex.

18. As to the organs themselves - brain forces and their activities, their reflexes, in the main are good. When there are those conditions that cause any disturbance to the nerve forces, sympathetically these produce periods of irritation.

19. Throat, bronchi, lungs and larynx - as indicated.

20. Heart's activity becomes irregular as to pressure, as to the circulation, but not an organic condition.

21. So, in the lung areas sympathetically, from the thrombose, there is a filling of this circulation at times between heart, liver, lungs, kidneys.

22. In the liver itself we find rather the source of the basis, but this is because of this fold in the lobe of the liver on that area where the deeper condition exists. There is the source of the disturbance; not gallstones, but sedimentary conditions that produce irritation.

23. This in reflex causes a hardship upon the activity of the kidneys; and at times this is realized by this heaviness across the area just above at times and at others just below the kidney area.

2563-1 Page 3

24. These, too, as yet are not organic, but functional and of a sympathetic nature.

25. In meeting the needs of these conditions, we find that it will require patience, persistence; but IF these applications are adhered to there WILL be brought definite results and helpful forces for the body.

26. For an hour each day for three consecutive days out of each week, apply the heavy Castor Oil Packs over the liver, extending to the caecum area. These should extend well to the back and half way across the front of the body. Then apply two electric pads, or one large electric pad, to keep these warm - or hot - for the hour. Repeat this procedure each day for three days.

27. Then, at the end of the third day, take internally a tablespoonful of Olive Oil.

28. Leave off then until the same three days of the next week, and repeat the whole procedure.

29. Do this for at least some five to six rounds, or weeks, see? Then rest from the applications for a month. Then do it all over again.

30. Throughout the period be mindful of the diet. For, the first causes or sources - in the first instance - arise from a chemical unbalance.

31. Refrain from large quantities of fats of any nature.

32. Be mindful that there is not taken too much of starches; as white breads or macaroni, or the combinations of cheeses - especially certain characters of same.

33. Have rather plenty of those foods that aid in the better eliminations; as plenty of water cress, plenty of green vegetable salads - with at times small quantities of ambrosia weed, which should be fresh rather than that as may be kept for several days; unless it is preferred to use the dried and crumble it on the salad as a salt - then it may be used in that manner.

34. Occasionally we would have a thorough RELAXING by a full hydrotherapy treatment and a good massage afterwards. This would include a colonic at least occasionally; especially with the properties taken in the diet indicated, this should be done once a month, so that there is the removing of all those congestions through the colon area. For the first cleansing solution, use salt and soda, in the proportions of a heaping teaspoonful of table salt and a level teaspoonful of baking soda, thoroughly dissolved in a quart and a half of the tepid water. For the last colon cleansing, or rinsing, use an antiseptic solution; that is, a tablespoonful and a half of Glyco-Thymoline to a quart and a half of water.

2563-1 Page 4

35. Also we would have the light sweat, but more from fumes; and for THIS body we would use the Witchhazel in the fume bath; that is, with the dry heat, see? Put a teaspoonful of the witchhazel to an ounce or two ounces of water in the croup cup, or the pan for boiling the water, see? This would be the proportion; and the length of time required would be about that to boil away a pint of water, you see. DO NOT have the sweat, or dry heat, too high.

36. Then there would be the thorough rubdown, using an equal combination of Olive Oil and Peanut Oil. From the poor superficial circulation there are the natural tendencies for dryness to occur in portions of the body where the circulations are deflected. Hence this skin food should be massaged in, while the body is thoroughly relaxed.

37. It is not necessary for special adjustments, but the good, thorough, deep massage.

38. Do these - we will bring the best conditions for this body, [2563].

39. Ready for questions.

40. (Q) Would Dr. Crum [Robert L. Crum, D.C.] of Hudson, Ohio, be advisable for these treatments? (A) If he will do them this way, he will be very good!

41. (Q) Can you suggest anyone in Washington, D.C.? (A) There are several there that will adhere to these suggestions, if asked to.

42. (Q) Can the same person in Washington who gives the hydrotherapy give the Packs? (A) He can give the Packs. Do not just pour the oil on the flannel but dip it into the oil and wring out lightly. An hour is sufficient for the Packs to be applied, but should be quite warm.

43. (Q) Which one of the physiotherapists in Washington would you suggest? (A) Either of these.

44. (Q) Baden? (A) Either of these.

45. (Q) Have I a chronic sinus infection - can it be cured and how? (A) As we find, this may BECOME chronic; but if this subluxed condition in the activity of the gall area is removed, through the use of the applications suggested, it should remove also the effects to the sinus. We find that much of these disturbances will be relieved if there will be the rubbing of the oils (the combination of Olive Oil and Peanut Oil) also about the sinus, about the neck and the throat, especially over the thyroid area.

2563-1 Page 5

46. (Q) What is the condition of colon? Can it be brought to normal? (A) It may be brought to normal, if there is the removal of the causes of these disturbances. Some pockets are cased, you see; some mucous is indicated.

47. (Q) Would giving up smoking materially improve my health? (A) As we find, not necessarily. To be sure, there are effects created in a body by the activity of nicotine in the system. But, how oft is there being indicated - now - through the better scientific minds - as to the necessity of some acids from such? This, then, in moderation is helpful rather than harmful, in most cases.

48. (Q) What causes yellow skin color? (A) This condition we have been describing - the deep circulation and poor superficial circulation. Hence the addition of the oils as a skin tonic to aid in this circulation, as well as in the correcting of the causes of this; and we will change these effects materially.

49. (Q) Did this also cause the yellow patches on eyelids? (A) These are a part of the same disturbance.

50. (Q) Would canned V-8 juices be advisable frequently? (A) If desired, this is a very good way to take some of the vital energies - but these are not always good. Neither would we advise same here, until much of the cause of this disturbance through the colon and superficial circulation is removed. The fresh fruit and vegetable juices are preferable here.

51. (Q) Should he take osteopathic treatments? (A) This depends upon how WELL the hydrotherapist and masseur does his work! We do not find that there are impingements that are deflecting these. As indicated, they arise more from chemical reactions. Thus those things indicated as the applications here are preferable, in this particular case. Do as has been given, and we will find we will bring the best conditions for this body. As to the mental attitude - remember that this has much to do with the whole physical conditions. And keep the mind constructive; that is, enter into all things in the hopeful, helpful manner. Remember, as ye well know, that body, mind and soul are one. And with what spirit ye entertain a disturbance of any nature it is determined as to whether you conquer it or it conquers you!

Ye have the spirit of truth in thy knowledge. Then in thy wisdom apply it.

52. We are through for the present. Two copies to Self (one for Mrs. [1158]) Copy to Ass'n file (See directions [which were enclosed] for preparing Castor Oil Packs. Physiotherapists in Washington, D.C., who know of Mr. Cayce's Readings: Dr. F. Thos. Evans, 1347 L. St., N.W., Washington, D.C. Dr. A. B. Baden, Hotel Fairfax, 21st & Mass. Ave., N.W., Wash., D.C. Dr. A. Fife Heath, 1833 Monroe N.E., Washington, D.C. I am not sure whether the last man is a physiotherapist or just an electrotherapist. We do not know any of these people personally - have just heard of their work through people who have been to them. Whichever one you choose, - whether one of these or some other - be sure to insist on getting JUST the treatments outlined in the Reading, given exactly AS suggested in the Reading. GD.) ading. GD.)
