Time of Reading 10:45 to 11:00 A. M. Eastern War Time. Washington, D.C.

1. HLC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2582]; this we have had before.

3. As we find, conditions are very much improved in the general physical forces of the body; and there only needs to be kept a normal reaction for the body, in order to continue on the improve - until we will find normal reactions throughout the system.

4. To be sure, there are still those inclinations or tendencies for acid reactions in the body. Hence the necessity for some precautions as to the diet, as to keep the body tending towards the alkalized or an alkaline condition in the body - to prevent colds or congestion causing some upset through some portion of the body.

5. It would be better for this to be done more in the diet than by the use of other properties; though when there are those tendencies, a saline alkalizer would be very well to keep the normalcy in these directions.

6. This we would do.

7. Occasionally, if there are those tendencies for a tautness in the extremities, we would have a thorough RELAXING of the body osteopathically; this not at any particular series or time, but when or should conditions occur.

8. Ready for questions.

9. (Q) The hair on lips has not decreased. What further treatment do you advise? (A) We would keep those things that have been indicated for this, and these - with the balancing of the glandular forces - remove or eradicate these disturbances.

10. (Q) Should Atomidine and Adiron be continued? (A) Occasionally; that is, the Atomidine should be taken

2582-2 Page 2

occasionally; possibly five days during a month, see? (five days prior to the menstrual period) Adiron we would begin about the first of December and take regularly through December, January and February, and to the 8th to 10th of March.

11. (Q) Would plucking or bleaching of the hair on lips be harmful? (A) Unless there are other changes made, this would be harmful.

12. (Q) Are present eyeglasses properly fitted, or should they be changed? (A) We would keep them as they are, for at least three to four months.

13. (Q) What has caused the recent feeling of strain in eyes? (A) The tendencies for the drawing or straining on the system, as tending towards an acidity through the body. Hence, as indicated, we would increase the eliminations - when such occurs - by the use of some saline solution; or the taking of salt of mornings - about a quarter teaspoonful of table salt (preferably iodized salt) in warm or hot water, before the morning meal. Take it for at least three mornings in succession, leave it off, and then take it again if necessary. This would adjust this condition.

14. (Q) What can be done to eliminate puffiness and lines around eyes? (A) The keeping of better eliminations will prevent these. This is the reaction from the kidneys.

15. (Q) What has caused the recent stomach upsets? (A) Acidity, as has been given.

16. (Q) When a physic is needed, what is recommended? (A) Just what we have been giving!

17. (Q) What can I do to build up resistance against getting chilled from any change in temperature, particularly in winter time? (A) As has been outlined.

18. (Q) Is it good or bad for my face to substitute skin freshener instead of so much water? (A) Would be very well.

19. (Q) What soap is best for my skin? (A) Woodbury.

20. (Q) Would ice skating be a good exercise for me? (A) Be very good, if there are precautions taken that you don't get overheated or too wet.

21. (Q) What would you advise to prevent my hair from turning gray? (A) Use the juice of potato peelings at least three times a week. Cook the Irish potato peelings in a little water

2582-2 Page 3

(with a top on the container, of course), and drink the juice from same. Use on the hair, after the cleansing, a little White Vaseline. This will keep the hair from turning gray.

22. (Q) What causes excess oiliness of the hair? (A) The activity of the thyroid, for which you are taking the Atomidine!

23. (Q) Any further advice? (A) Keep close to those suggestions indicated. Conditions are better, but be mindful that conditions are kept towards normalcy - or that the activities are kept in that direction. And when better eliminations are needed, use those properties as indicated; being mindful of the diet.

24. We are through with this Reading. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file [Ques. not asked: (If glasses are to be changed) Would Dr. Michael Kennedy be the proper person to continue prescribing glasses? (Mary Sugrue used to work for him.)] (See extra sheet [which was enclosed] of suggestions for Dr. Lulu Irene Waters in making osteopathic treatments.)
