This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of October, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2603], new Associate Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [1472].

R E A D I N G

Born March 24, 1874, in Nashville, Tennessee. Time of Reading 10:40 to 11:20 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: (In going back over years from present - " - '37 - associations and changes - '35 - '26 - change - 1900 - circumstances altered - " etc., on back to birth date.)

3. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now called [2603].

4. In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them here, while there may be many interpretations of the entity's activities, these we choose with the desire and purpose that this be a helpful experience for the entity; enabling the entity to better fulfillthose purposes for which it entered this sojourn.

5. For, one enters not by chance but that the glory of the Infinite may be made manifest in the experience of each entity. For He hath not willed that any soul should perish, but hath with every opportunity given those influences which the individuals may apply in their experience.

6. For this entity we find, while there are urges latent and manifested, these in many respects could not be too highly spoken of. This is indicated from the innate urges from the earthly sojourns, as well as from the latent urges from astrological sojourns.

7. Not that these urges are existent because of the position of stars or planets, or phases of the zodiac; but each soul is a manifestation that is to GOVERN the creation and not be governed by same.

8. These, then, may be said to be the composite of the astrological urges, with the material sojourns in the earth:

9. One whose very purpose has been and is to see "fair play." And in all its associations, all its deeds or its activities, the entity has accepted those things that come from the judgment of the entity itself. This is well, provided there is not too severe judgment at times upon others for not being able to make material successes, or for being too easily influenced by their OWN problems and urges.

10. Thus it behooves the entity to become more and more tolerant, more and more understanding; that there may be manifested that influence as He manifested, demonstrated, gave in word, also in material application - He, the Giver of all good and perfect gifts - "Love one another," even as He hath loved thee.

11. In astrological aspects we find the high mental abilities from Mercury.

12. From Jupiter we see those influences as related to the feeling for the mass, or the general public.

13. In Venus there is the appreciation of music, of harmony, of things beautiful; the home, relationships with peace and harmony in the activities of those with whom the entity may be associated or in whom the entity may interest self.

14. We find in Uranus the extremes, and yet for this entity the ability to adapt itself to varied environs; yet those inclinations to pass judgement. In the extremes is found the interest in the occult, the mystical. These all become latent or manifested, dependent upon the application of the innate urge that arises within the experience of the entity.

15. From these same urges there arise the abilities in judgments, in the aid, in the general philanthropic activities. Thus we see the extremes to which the entity may at times find itself in such activities.

16. Then, as to the sojourns in the earth, and as they apply to the experiences in the innate and manifested influences at present:

17. Before this the entity was in the land of the present nativity, during the very early settlings of the land, and in associations with the first governor of the state.

18. There the entity materially gained, in the name Ellsworth Ashley, and also in the mental and spiritual activities.

19. In the latter portion there were those tendencies to withdraw from the activities with others. Hence the abilities that arise from same in the present, for the entity to find an interest in all forces as acclaim to position or power, whether in the political, the social, or

any form of a universal activity.

20. Thus the beneficent, the beautiful forces that oft come to the aid of those who have applied themselves; yet successes must be a criterion for the entity oft.

21. Let not thy judgments be harsh, for with what measure ye mete it is measured to thee again.

22. Before that the entity was in the Holy Land, during the early periods and activities when there were those preparations for the incoming of He that is the way, the truth and the light.

23. The entity was among those who were later known as the Holy Women, being associated with the Essenes as well as those of the temple activity; being a part of the influences that made for choices especially of those who were to be channels in the activities that were to bring about that proclaimed and looked for consideration from and of the Creative Forces.

24. The entity was in the name Anna; not in the temple, but an associate of those in authority in the temple, and saw the Holy One blessed there.

25. These were the greater periods of experience and activity of the entity, and those periods of activity in the present may be in the same form of ministering to those who may be the messengers to those of every station of life.

26. Hence the abilities for the entity to bring hope, confidence in others, the desire for betterment of their associations and a closer walk, union or link with the Creative Forces - as the entity then induced and brought about in the various groups.

27. Thus the fear of, as well as the close association with, varied groups that set themselves for definite activities among their fellowmen.

28. Before that the entity was in the Persian land, during those period when thee were the gatherings of those groups that had been brought under bondage [Children of Israel - Nehemiah?].

29. The entity was in the household of one in authority, and who made intercession for those people because of the tenets or truths in the lives of some with whom the entity was associated. The outgrowth in material activity of the king's issuing the decree that each and every individual should worship according to the dictates of his own conscience was from the activity of the entity, in part, as a companion of the priest in that period.

30. The name then was Vivavanda. In the experience the entity gained. For the entity was active in bringing a change in the very influences politically, and the

relationships of nations with those various groups.

31. In the present the activities of the entity in its relationships with others may have such an influence in the affairs of state, of nations, of groups, of activities in many lands.

32. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, during those periods and activities when there were those entering for the preparing of the new understanding.

33. The entity then was the companion of the older king, as they entered into the land; who in a manner matched wits as it were with the ruling influences in the land at the time, offering and bringing about that association between the Egyptian king and one of the entity's own people.

34. Thus political intrigue, as would be termed today; but the abilities of the entity to have its own way. For, as the entity experiences, while it is not of the underhand methods, yet oft the entity manages to have its own way irrespective of the problems that may appear to hinder in the beginning - when once there is the determined or set purpose in the experience of the entity.

35. The name then was Vasto.

36. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, that to which it may attain, and how:

37. Let thy light so shine among thy fellow men that there is never a condemning of self nor of others. Keep the faith as ye planted among thy fellow men in Egypt, as ye made greater manifest in Persia, as ye made more active in the Holy Land experience. As ye were disappointed in the associations in the experience before this, know that each and every activity, every association, every contact is purposeful and not mere passing fancy, not mere chance.

38. Use that thou hast in hand in making for that manifestation of thy ideal. Know what thou believest, and Who is the author of same, and that the Author is able to keep that as may be committed to Him against any experience that may come into the activities of the entity.

39. Let not thy heart be troubled, ye know the way. Live that which has been and is thy purpose.

41. (Q) Where, when and what have been my associations in past incarnations with my present husband, the entity now known as [...], and how may they be utilized to our mutual helpfulness and development in the present. (A) Through the Persian period he was not thy husband, but that one who commanded or took the orders for the activities among the associates of thy companion during that experience.

Through the Holy Land he was then the companion and associate of the entity. As to the application in the present - UNIFY thy purposes, minimize the faults of each, magnify the virtues in both.

42. (Q) When, where and what have been my associations in former incarnations with the entity now known as Marie Wilson? Is our present association constructive or destructive, and should it be continued? (A) Who is to say as to what is destructive or constructive? The judgements as to these should be passed by self alone. The associations through the Holy Land experience brought disturbances, in the latter part of that association; for defies were eventually part of the experience. Through the Persian experience, as a companion or associate who brought the knowledge to the entity of the needs of the peoples that were eventually sent back; but these were for personal gains of the entity now known as Marie Wilson. These should be judgments, then, as to the entity itself. As we would give, let not thy right hand know what thy left hand doeth, but keep closer to the path of the Holy One.

43. (Q) Should I continue my charity work for the "Friends of Children" organization, or could I render a greater service to humanity elsewhere? If so, where and how? (A) No greater service may be rendered than that in aiding children. They are the hope of the world. In every form where there may be the betterment of opportunities for children with promise, do same.

44. (Q) What have been my past associations and experiences with Octavia [...] and how may they be now used to our mutual advantage? (A) We find there was an association, but very foreign to any activities in the present - as we find.

45. (Q) Should I continue to work with her in our present charity association or would it be advisable to work with her in her proposed radio plan? (A) Proposed radio plan would be the better, as we find; for it would eventually loosen or leave the greater activities in other fields for the entity that will present themselves.

46. (Q) For what work and service am I best equipped?

(A) That of giving hope, strength and awakening to the abilities in each and every individual ye meet.

47. (Q) Should I sell my stocks and bonds and reinvest the money? If so, what would be the wisest investment to make? (A) These should be judgments of thine own, and not from sources of this nature.

48. (Q) Have I had any former associations with Lamar [...]; what is his purpose in my present experience, and how may it best be fulfilled? (A) We do not find an association save in the experience before this, that brought confusion.

49. (Q) When, where and what were my associations in former incarnations with my brother, the entity now known as [...], and will he come back actively into my life here? (A) These activities we find in the Egyptian activity, in which there were disputations, but eventually close association. In the experience just before this, disputations - and eventual activities in closer association. WE find that it will be most probable that there will again be active associations in this experience.
