This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the home of Mrs. Robert R. M. Emmet, 1 Grace Church St., Rye, New York, this 15th day of November, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [2618], new Associate Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., Virginia Beach, Va., recommended by Mrs. [1472].

R E A D I N G

Born October 8, 1901, in Clark County, Kentucky. Time of Reading 3:30 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York, N.Y.

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity and that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: (In going back over years from the present - " - '38 - changes in the environs and attitudes - '36 - '32 - happenings - '30 - '25 - preparations - " etc., on back to birth date.)

3. Yes, we are given the records here of that entity now known as or called [2618].

4. In choosing the interpretations of the records as we find them here, these are chosen with the desire and purpose that this be a helpful experience for this entity; enabling the entity to better fulfill the purpose for which it entered this present sojourn.

5. For, experience or sojourns in the earth are not by chance, but that each soul may - in finding itself - contribute to that welfare of its fellow man in such a manner as to make the world better for the entity having lived therein. This might be truly said of this entity, as to its purpose, its intent.

6. Then, to assist the entity in finding those channels, those outlets through which it may give the better expression, and thus be the greater channel of blessing to others, is the import hoped to be imparted here.

7. There are characteristics, there are latent and manifested urges indicated in the experiences of the entity,

not only in this but through the varied sojourns in the earth, as well as that accomplished by the entity through those interims between such sojourns.

8. These (the interims) we indicate by astrological aspects. Not that the entity lives in those environs as it does in the earth plane, but such aspects are accredited to the various planets because of the consciousness attained by the entity during the periods of earthly sojourn and applied in those interims.

9. In Mercury we find the high mental abilities, - especially the detail that is a part of the conscious and unconscious activity of the entity; having to do with the fitness of things, purposes, abilities in choosing individuals for definite activities, or fitting the place and the peoples concerned for a definite service or definite happening. These become latent and manifested channels of activity in the entity's experience.

10. We find in Venus the appreciation of beauty, the abilities in the varied fields pertaining to the description of places, things, or of that as may be so depicted in ANY manner as to become a theme, a study of others in their attempts to make application of THEIR faculties in the earthly experience.

11. In Jupiter (thirdly removed) we find the activities of a universal nature, or the consciousness of the entity in its application of self as well as the abilities to meet and to deal with groups, masses, or the like. These are latent as well as manifested in the abilities of this entity in the present.

12. We find in Uranus the extremes. These also indicate abilities in the occult; producing periods when the supersensitiveness or intuition of the entity has much to do with directing the thought or actions of the entity. These also in their association, or in periods when there are those benevolent influences with Mercury, bring abilities in fields of definite activity - as may be indicated in the poetic expressions, the abilities to write, to depict - as indicated - the beauties in associations, in the mental and material things or conditions as may be expressed or manifested by the entity. These find expression through the soul forces, the dreams of the entity. The abilities in those activities to loosen itself from physical consciousness become a directing channel or field through which the entity may find a contact, an expression in those fields of the mental and spiritual realm. THESE we would cultivate; remembering, in the activities, in its associations, in its dealings with others: Forgive if ye

would be forgiven. Magnify ever the virtues, of self, of others; minimizing the faults, the failings. Condemn not if ye would not be condemned.

13. As to activities manifested in the earthly relationships - not all may be given here, yet these are chosen from the records as those dealing with or influencing the emotions of the entity in the present. Thus the manners or channels may be given, as to the fields of service in which greater judgment, greater remuneration, greater mental balance may be kept, and the greater spiritual growth attained.

14. Before this, then, the entity was in the land of the present nativity, though in its service, in its activities, in quite a different setting, quite a different environ.

15. For the entity then, in what is known as the Chinese land, was active as a missionary - rather a companion to a missionary - in aiding, in giving counsel, in giving advice, in teaching, in ministering, in instructing those peoples in a better way.

16. Then in the name Anita Clark - the entity gained, mentally and spiritually. For there were the greater abilities for an active service in that particular period and time of expression, where there might be those activities to control or direct - rather than control - the manner of expression and of activity in the lives of individuals who in their particular field were to influence public opinion.

17. Thus may the entity find those outlets for a service in the present, that may not only give the entity the greater opportunities for an expression of self but a growth, a creative influence, a creative activity in this particular period of service; as a counselor to, as a director for such individuals, such groups that have their part in formulating opinions, formulating activities for the masses.

18. Use that ability.

19. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, in those periods of activity when there were greater destructions wrought by a peoples persuaded in the gratifying of material desires for an expression of same in their spiritual hopes.

20. Those periods brought to the entity material hardships. For, the entity was among those who had accepted the faith of passivity to those that would err.

21. Thus we find in the present the conflicting emotions as to much that may be called redress, when there are those principles calling for patriotic activity - or that influenced by civil and political rights. These become as

fields in which the entity may easily, deep within self, come to disturbing thoughts, entanglements of purpose and mind.

22. Hence the abhorrence at times of such experiences; also the latent and manifested activities in which travel, associations with the various types or groups, that there may be awakened or aroused the desire to itself know of those things and expressions in other lands.

23. Thus, in the experience just after that, the entity was at home among those of different faiths in their religious and political views; yet latent in self a fear, also a satisfaction gained.

24. The name then was Illiazeru.

25. Before that the entity was in the Persian and Arabian land, during those periods of activity especially in the 'city in the hills and plains.'

26. The entity was among the Persians who became closely associated with and active in the teachings, and in the administering of a helpful service in those periods when the leader had established a haven for the weak of body, and for the educating or directing of the mental selves of those who chose to study or apply themselves there.

27. Hence the abilities in the entity's experience, latent and manifested, as a nurse, as a teacher, as a companion for others; for social, for business, for all forms of activity in which a teaching of a counseling nature may be a part of the relationships.

28. These brought periods of exaltation, periods of great development in the mental and spiritual influences of the entity; as indicated from the astrological applications of same in those periods indicated.

29. Then the name was Aschra.

30. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, when there were those periods of reconstruction - when there was the establishing of the Temple of Sacrifice, the Temple Beautiful, for the preparation of individuals for individual service in various forms of activity - as the vocational expressions of groups and individuals.

31. There the entity was active in aiding the leaders, the instructors, and in keeping the varied groups acquainted with that service rendered and that ability of individuals to be active in the varied fields being opened.

32. In the present expressions of these we find the abilities of the entity as a writer, as a collaborator with others in writing - as the entertainer in whatever field of service or activity the entity might choose for such relationships.

33. The name then was Irel-Ane.

34. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, that to which it may attain, and how:

35. As indicated from the mental and spiritual, as well as the urges through the experiences and expressions of the entity in the earth - the greater outlets may be found as a writer; or as an instructor to groups or to the individuals, in guiding their policies with regard to relationships to others.

36. These may be fields in which the entity may find the outlets for the greater service.

37. In the preparation of self in the present - first analyze thyself. To thine own self find thy relationship to the Creative Forces, as ye have found in so many manners of expression; knowing that the manner in which ye treat thy fellow man as respecting same, is the manner in which ye profess, ye pronounce thy ideal. For, what thou art speaks above much of that ye may say; yet thy conversation, thy convocation may ever be in that service in which there is a rightly dividing, a rightly stressing of those phases of thy experience in which truths may be found. Let only the good and the lovely be stressed, or the expressions of love; and let those that would cause doubt or fear be repelled by the light of His countenance with thee.

38. Rightly divide, then, the words of truth; living day by day so that thine own conscience condemns thee not.

39. Ready for questions.

40. (Q) What should be my line of study and procedure to gain a clearer understanding of myself and fulfillthe real purpose of this incarnation? (A) As indicated - the studying to show thyself approved unto that ideal thou hast chosen; as one willing, ready to fulfillthat thou hast found, that thou dost daily find is an expression of the glory ye put in thy ideal. As to the manners of preparation - none better than reading certain portions of Holy Writ; not merely as rote, but seeing and experiencing in same that the message is to thee, thy consciousness, thy soul; that it is to thee that the promises are made. Read that found in the 30th of Deuteronomy, and in the 14th, 15th, 16 and 17th of John. Make them thine own experience.

41. (Q) Is marriage essential to my highest development in this incarnation; if so, who and where is my real mate and how can I find him? (A) As we find, in this particular experience this is not necessarily essential. But if there is found that

companionable individual with the same purposes and ideals, it may be worked out together. That in the experience before this was completed, and not a part - other than that which has passed in this experience, and has been well taken care of.

42. (Q) What is the purpose of my present business association; should I seek release from it and if so what type of work would I find more satisfactory expression, service and security? (A) Let this present association be used rather as a steppingstone for preparation of a grater work as a writer, as an editor, as a teacher for groups of individuals; for the masses, for the classes.

43. (Q) When, where and what were my past associations with my present mother, the entity known as [...]; what is my chief responsibility to her at present, and how may I best discharge it? (A) More as a correspondent; that is, purposes of each in the experience before this were DIRECTED to the same fields of service. Hence the disassociated, as well as the duties that are demanded, or that are a part of the present experience. These held or kept in the channels of activities and associations as they have been the last few years are the better manner of handling same.

44. (Q) What will develop for me through the application I have made for a Civil Service position and should I do anything more to further the matter; if so, what should be my procedure? (A) This will in its time bring an opportunity. This does not necessarily indicate the acceptance of same. For as we find, if the present environs are used for the preparation of self as a writer, descriptive writer, a greater field of service may be had there; and a better outlet, as well as a channel in which the whole self may be expressed form time to time.

45. (Q) When, where and what were my associations in past incarnations with Ethel [...]; what is the purpose of our present affiliation, and how may it be made to serve each of us? (A) In the sojourn in the Persian land, and during portions of the experience in the Egyptian land when there were prosecutions by those of foreign faiths, they depended one upon the other. Then the conditions or circumstances were reversed, as may be said, from those in the present. WITH these as a background, apply self in that association in the present. Keep them FROM themselves, as well as in giving the best to others.

46. (Q) When, where and what was my relationship to the entity now known as Ilona [...] in other incarnations; what is the purpose of my present association with her, and how may it be used to mutual development? (A) In the experience before this an associate or companion at times through those periods of service to a strange, yet an interesting people; steeped, deep in racial prejudices, yet willing - by the service of this entity in the present - to listen often.

47. (Q) When, where and what were my associations in past incarnations with my present brother, the entity now known as [...]; what is our purpose to each other and how may it be fulfilled? (A) This as we find, as we have just indicated, has been and is being well fulfilled. A companion and an associate in the experience just before this - as the husband then. In all thy study, in seeking, let this be the manner of approach - in purpose, in truth; though in thine own words: "LORD! THY SERVANT, THY HANDMAID SEEKS THY FACE. LET MY MIND, MY BODY, MY ALL BE AS A CHANNEL OF BLESSINGS TO OTHERS, IN WAYS AND MEASURES AS THOU MAY DIRECT. "KEEP ME, O GOD, IN THY OWN WAY."
