1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2680].
3. Now as we find, there are conditions that are upsetting. While the description may appear more serious than present conditions indicate, we find that these may BECOME disturbing unless measures are taken to correct those tendencies and inclinations that are existent in the present.
4. We find that these disturbances arise primarily from the glandular system; some from submerged conditions, others from conditions which at periods have become overactive; producing in the present a tendency towards a form of anemia.
5. However, this should not be regarded as serious provided measures are taken not to allow conditions to become of a constitutional or chronic nature.
6. These, them, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [2680] we are speaking of, present in this room:
7. The blood supply indicates natures or characters of a glandular disturbance, as related to the circulation especially FROM the thyroid, as well as the eliminations or Periods. And these become a contributory disturbance to those activities in the system.
8. These produce an irregularity in the body functionings, as well as in the reflexes in nervous system and in heart activity. There is not an organic condition, but purely a sympathetic functional disturbance.
9. In the nerve forces of the body we find, as may be said, the seat or the causes; yet the effects of the disturbance are much reflected in other parts of the body.
2680-1 Page 2
10. The sympathetic nerve forces of the body are affected, especially as related to the thyroid activity as regulated through the glands in the endocrine system. Thus, these, making for pressures, cause at times disturbance to the sympathetic system.
11. All of the organs of the sensory force become involved at times, but still - as indicated - sympathetically functional.
12. As to the activity of the organs themselves, we find:
13. Brain forces are very good. The reflexes are good to organs of the body; save the organs of the sensory system are retentive to nerve reflexes so as to produce at times the condition in throat, the passage of the antrum and the soft tissue of face and head - soreness. The conditions through the digestive or assimilating system at times are reflex. These are not other than from pressure that first existed in the second of the lumbar areas; this reflexes to the 6th and 7th dorsal and the 1st and 2nd cervical. These gradually have causes deflections.
14. Thus the reactions in the activity of the organs directed by impulse.
15. Hence, while the conditions that have been produced must be considered with the applications made for correction, we find that the pressures on the nerve system that need to be corrected are the major problems to be met.
16. Then, first, we would begin with Atomidine taken internally; one drop in half a glass of water each morning before the meal is taken - for five days in succession the first series. Then the next week take only three days, - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Then leave off until the next Monday, you see. Continue in this manner - three days each week - for at least five or six weeks.
17. With the second weak of the Atomidine, begin also with corrections osteopathically made - such as by Waters; the lumbar and sacral, coordinated with the dorsal AND cervical. In the first series have at least twelve treatments. Then rest from them a month. Then have another series for six to ten.
18. Throughout the period by very careful to keep good eliminations, also as to the secretions and the activities of the skin - taking precautions against cold, congestion or the like.
19. Keep the diets well balanced - away from sweats; not too much fats, ever; but plenty of fresh vegetables, both raw and cooked, should be a part of the diet. Only fish, fowl or lamb as meats.
20. Do these and we will find bettered conditions, and we
2680-1 Page 3
will PROTECT the body a great deal from disturbances that might arise later unless these are done.
21. Ready for questions.
22. (Q) What causes the itching and stinging of my eyes, and how may it be overcome? (A) As has been indicated, there is a deflection of the nerve energies to the organs of the sensory system. The deflection of circulation is caused from the upper dorsal areas. With the cleansing of the glandular system (by the Atomidine) AND with the correction (osteopathically) of the impulses, this will disappear - gradually. Corrections in this manner will prevent any superficial activity from the lachrymal ducts, or the superacidity that is a natural result from the disturbed activity of the glandular force.
23. (Q) Why have my mammary glands never developed properly, and may anything be done to cause normal bust development? (A) This condition is the suppression of the glandular force from the thyroid as pertaining to the mammary glands. We would massage these glands occasionally with Cocoa Butter - not a deep massage, but along the edge of the glands on the body that come down under the arms, you see, then about the breast - at the base of same. This, with the glandular force purified and the circulation set up by the correction of the deflection through the dorsal areas, will make the normal development. Thus the necessity for series of the activities through the osteopathic corrective measures - that there be rest periods between the series, and that the type of food values be given that will be especially adapted to the developments of body.
24. (Q) What causes superfluous growth of hair on face, and what should be done to prevent it? (A) This is from the glandular disturbance to an excessive activity in thyroid. Thus the needs of this purifying, this cleansing, through the activity of the Atomidine taken in the manner outlined, and also the care for the circulation in the skin itself. This will disappear when the circulation is set normally.
25. (Q) Do I have ulcers of the stomach? (A) No. This is the thyroids causing a disturbance in the combination of the chyle and the acids in same. Or, the gastric flows being super-acid, these areas become raw or upset. Thus the needs that little fats be in the diet; that is, not entirely obliterated, but little butter, little sweets - such as pastries and the like. Have rather plenty of vegetables, plenty of fruits - these are well. But
2680-1 Page 4
other characters of sweets cause this tendency towards acidity. These symptoms will gradually disappear as the glandular forces are brought to normalcy.
26. (Q) Should I take anything for the burning in the stomach? (A) If this causes irritation, just after eating, take a little ALCAROID - this only about once a day. But if the osteopathic manipulations and adjustments are made, and there are the activities of the Atomidine, this should soon disappear - especially if the diet is kept balanced. DO NOT take carbonated waters or drinks.
27. (Q) Should I take the vitamins now being prescribed by the medical profession for graying hair? (A) These will not be necessary when these corrections are made as we have indicate here. It is the activity of these glands, as indicated, that is upsetting. But if these things are done as indicated there should be the nearer normal activity in these directions. Then, if there is the desire to keep a stimulation in this direction, through a tonic, we would then take ADIRON; but do not begin this for at least thirty or sixty days. This is a combination that produces the better balance in glandular forces, AFTER same is purified. See, one portion of the thyroid is overactive and one portion is UNDERACTIVE. The cause of this, though, as indicated, arises from a subluxation in the lumbar and sacral - in the 6th, 7th and 8th dorsal, and in the cervical. These corrections osteopathically, AND the purifying, should set better conditions. When the Adiron is begun, take only one tablet each day, during the heavier meal of the day. Take it for five days, leave off three, then take it five days more, and so on, until a whole bottle - small bottle - is taken. DO NOT take Adiron when the weather begins to be very warm. Do these and we will bring bettered conditions for this body.
