1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2722].
3. As we find, there are disturbances which prevent the better physical functioning with this body. In the present there is rather a complication, that may become rather serious unless there are measures taken soon for better corrective influences.
4. These disturbances have to do with a glandular condition, and the effect this has had and does produce upon, especially, the lymph circulation and drainages from same, combined with an infection that adds to the general disturbance of the inability to assimilate those influences necessary for better improvement.
5. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [2722] we are speaking of:
6. The blood supply indicates disturbances in the coordination between the lymph circulation and the general blood supply. Hence the accumulations in lymph pockets of those disturbing forces, or poisons, that are not drained through their normal channel. This produces pressures upon the nerve system. Thus the excruciating pains that occur at times in varied portions of the body, and the general drain and strain this produced upon the whole nerve system.
7. These are indicated in conditions which exist in the throat, the mouth, the neck and in areas along the cerebrospinal system, as well as that upsetting through the alimentary canal where such lymph accumulations in the general lymph system prevent normal drainages from the duodenum and through alimentary canal.
8. The sources of the nervous distresses are in the glandular forces - as in the areas about the adrenals and the activities in the organs of the pelvis, as well as those
2722-3 Page 2
activities from the secondary or the sympathetic nervous system.
9. As to the functionings of the organs themselves - when there were those disturbances in the mouth or the gums and the removal of the teeth, this loosed so much of the poisons that had not been drained from this area as to bring about rather serious conditions to local areas - though distributed in part through the lymph circulation, - combined with the GENERAL disturbance in the glandular force along the adrenals.
10. The WHOLE activity (that is, to other organs) we find in rather a sympathetic condition. And these are reflexed through the activity of the organs, as upon the whole sensory system, the throat, bronchi and larynx, the irregularity because of the necessity of sedatives that cause more tie-ups of the eliminations. Thus the organs of alimentary canal find disturbances - as the lower end of duodenum where it empties into the jejunum and through the colon.
11. As we find, in making corrections that would be the more beneficial for this body:
12. We would keep up the osteopathic adjustments, but make these more for the relaxing and setting up of drainages through the alimentary canal, rather than for stimulation of circulation to the upper portions of the body; that is, head, neck and the throat and bronchi areas.
13. We would begin at once with small doses of Atomidine. Take one minim in half a glass of water of morning before any meal is taken. Each day increase this one drop, until five drops are being taken. Then leave off.
14. After the Atomidine has been left off one day, begin with Mullein Tea; that is to be made preferably from the green or fresh Mullein. Put about a dram of the bruised leaves in an enamel or glass container and pour a pint of boiling water over same; letting this set for at least twenty to thirty minutes. Drink each day at least two ounces of this tea - for five days.
15. Then leave off one day, and begin with the Atomidine again - taking it as before; continuing to alternate these in the manner indicated.
16. The continuation of these, with the variation indicated in the character of the osteopathic adjustments, should bring help for this body.
17. When there is pain - as in the back of the neck, the face, the jaw, or through the lower portion of the back, or even across the abdomen close to the liver and the area where the duodenum empties - apply Mullein Stupes. Use the
2722-3 Page 3
larger leaves, bruised, that have floated or been allowed to stand in the boiling water for about ten minutes - that is, pour the boiling water over same, you see, and allow to set a few minutes; then dip out the leaves and apply on gauze over the area, being covered with other cloths, you see; neck, throat, jaw, back or abdomen. These should be applied hot, but not so hot as to burn the skin, or course. Put these on gauze, and then on the body, the neck and the throat. They may be applied two or three times a day, see?
18. As to the diet - to be sure the inability for the proper assimilation brings disturbances and weakness to the body.
19. Prepare beef juice - not stew, but beef juice. Take this regularly as medicine, a teaspoonful at least every three hours apart, but take a minute or minute and a half to just sip that quantity; letting it dissolve or assimilate in the mouth with the flow of saliva. This may be seasoned to suit the taste, and taken with, or soaked with, a whole wheat cracker or a piece of whole wheat toast.
20. Also use whole grain cereals; both wheat and oats.
21. Include, too, at least once or twice a week some broiled fish in the diet.
22. Have vegetables, preferably in soups - until there is a better ability of masticating the foods.
23. Keep the eliminations well, even though it becomes necessary to take colonic irrigations. Especially after the second week it would be well, in any case, to have a colonic irrigation professionally given; to remove the drosses and drainages that should have been set up by the stimulation to the glandular forces of the body through the Atomidine AND the activity of Mullein in the system.
24. These as we find should relieve, and bring better conditions. Of course, it may be necessary for sedatives - but keep away from these as much as possible. But do not allow the pains to become so severe as to be too great a strain upon the general nervous system.
25. Ready for questions.
26. (Q) Why does the head keep pulling and jerking? (A) The incoordination between the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal system. Thus the necessity, as indicated, for the application of the Mullein Stupes when there is pain or jerking. This is the effect of the clots of the lymph in the muscular and nerve forces in the neck and head.
27. We are through for the present. Copy to Self - Air Mail, Special " " Ass'n file

(See extra sheet of directions [which was enclosed] for Dr. Woodall. See directions [which were enclosed] for preparing Pure Beef Juice. Mullein should be gathered green, growing wild, at this time of year. If not, it may be secured from a crude drug house. At you convenience, please let us have the technical name of your disturbance, according to the physicians, so we may properly index it in our files. Under separate cover we are sending - from our local druggist - a bottle of Atomidine, as you may not be able to get it there.) there.)
