1. GC: You will give the physical and mental reading on this body. You will examine it thoroughly, tell me the conditions you find at the present time, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for cure and relief of this body.
2. EC: Now, we find, in the physical forces of this body there are those conditions that, were they corrected, would bring the more normal functioning of the whole system; adding then to the mental abilities of the body and to its ability to give more in service to others.
3. Now, these are the conditions as we find them in this body, [2740], we are speaking of, present in this room. First:
4. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find full in the capillary circulation and low in the internal circulation. This produced, as we shall see, by specific conditions that hinder in portions of the body.
5. In the heart's action, as is produced from this, we find an abnormal pulsation. Not to that excess as to cause a condition that would be termed heart affection (though it has been called same at times), yet the condition producing same gives to the body that undue condition in the capillaries of being too full, as it were, in various portions of the system, according to the cycle of the circulation; the uneasiness as is felt when the body first lies down, the inability to keep head lower than feet long, stooping and rising quick; this is an EFFECT of the conditions.
6. In the nerve centers the body over-sympathetic, for the cerebrospinal centers in certain portions of the body are impinged to that extent as to cause a deflection in the system. The central center or ganglion that has lesions is in that of the 2nd lumbar, and reflexly in the 3rd and 4th dorsal. The first, in lumbar, produced in times back, when there was a change in the vicissitudes of the life, and in this condition there was produced that which produced the
2740-1 Page 2
first lesion, then gradually, there is shown that the lesion produced the impingement, which affect the mesenteric system, hindering the blood's circulation, especially through the lacteal ducts. Then the conditions followed. Not so much existent at present, though the effects of same are existent. Disturbances in the circulation, and producing undue eruptions on portions of body, producing the action on the kidneys as to overcharge same, producing in the cerebrospinal centers of the cervical region those depressing headaches on top and back, and side of head; those of the inclinations for inactivity of liver, see?
7. These, in their various changes, have brought many different conditions to the body, yet the lesion in 2nd lumbar has not been removed. The depression in medicinal properties, as were taken into the system, producing an over stimulation to the hypogastric circulation, brought about, then, in the secondary cardiac, or the 3rd, 4th and 5th dorsal, that secondary lesion that again affects the capillary circulation, increasing the flow of blood through the heart and producing the general depression and dissatisfaction to the whole mental system, through pressure at this ganglion, produced on the sympathetic and sensory organism of the body.
8. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, brain forces very good. Over sympathetic in the action of brain centers, and especially toward certain conditions as have been existent in the life, and the resentment as has been held toward individual, produced in its reaction by the condition existent, that depression as is called the over-shadowing of the condition of life by outside influence, see?
9. In the action of the organs in sensory system, these at times show the effect of pressure in the upper dorsal region, as sudden gathering of phlegm in throat, as sudden moisture to eyes, to nasal forces, produced by over-sympathetic reaction, see? Not an organic condition in any organ of same at present.
10. Throat, lungs, bronchials, larynx, all very good. Lungs show the effect of the high respiratory system, and this throws off, then, much of that dross through this portion of body.
11. Digestive system, through the action of the condition, both in pelvis from the lumbar lesion and from the upper dorsal lesion through the pneumogastric, gives a contraction to stomach proper. Often the body then very hungry, yet little satisfies. Again we will find little appetite, but certain things seem to bring on more appetite, see? The effect of properties taken into the system that has acted
2740-1 Page 3
with the lactic fluids and the gastric juices of the stomach proper, creating a contraction of the organ itself.
12. The liver better in its function at present than has been in past, yet subnormal in its ability to both excrete and secrete, and we find there are periods when the excretions from same are good. Again, when the secretions are good, yet those same periods occur when, it being vice versa, produces distresses in both the intestinal digestion and in the circulation, for the body, apparently, at such times, with an increased circulation, has temperature, or feels as so, having hot and cold sensations - sudden chill, and the relaxing as of stupor, or dullness in the whole system afterward.
13. In the hepatics and in the kidneys, these are somewhat improved at present, through those corrections that have been made in part in this portion of the body; yet these show, by the reaction of the condition in liver, that these become overtaxed at the times the bearing down pains, as it were, through the whole trunk portion of body, and the feeling of fullness in lower limbs, tingling sensation in portions of the system, especially in extremities; the inability of the system to eliminate those assimilations, by being overtaxed in a capillary circulation.
14. Then, to bring the normal conditions to this body, we would first through this:
15. Through that deep manipulation of the osteopathic forces, make those corrections in the lumbar and dorsal region. When at least ten to twelve treatments, or adjustments have been made, begin with the Appliance that will give the equilibrium to the circulation, and to the nerve system, as is found in that of the Radio-Active Applicator, using the lower limb as the negative pole, see? and the upper (or wrist) as the positive. That is, always attach the last anode to the ankle. These should be taken for at least one and a half hours each evening, after these other treatments have been given, see? Not necessary to take (of adjustments), if made properly, more than twelve to thirteen, keeping up the others.
16. Then, the physical exercise and the diet must be followed. Keeping for system those properties that dilate and expand the stomach, see? as in much gruel, whole wheat and green vegetable food, as much as possible. Meats of certain characters only. Fish and fowl, see? and much water should ALWAYS be taken. Take sufficient to keep stomach full at all times, until the activity of same is seen in the kidneys, see?
17. Do this, and we will bring the normal forces to this

body.
18. In the mental, as given, we find the body good. Over sympathetic. With the correction of physical conditions in body, the outlook of the mental will be expanded, and those attitudes, as is held and as is felt, must be overcome within self, in the application of that Truth as is found in making self busy in the service of others, sufficient to lose that knowledge even of self service.
19. We are through for the present.
