Time of Reading 11:45 to 12:00 A. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Ohio.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [2745].

3. Now as we find, while there are some disturbances as related to the reaction of the circulatory system, these are in the main functional.

4. But there are disturbances that are causing a great deal of anxiety at times to the body. And with the correction of these, the body may save self from a great deal of trouble later on - by removing the disturbances which exist, by the applications as may be indicated.

5. As we find, from an injury - apparently a fall, or a twisting over some object - there has been an injury to the rib close to the spinal system; this in the floating rib area.

6. The tendons have been so stretched or so injured that the rebuilding tissue has become a pressure upon the nervous system. Thus if the body is overtired, or overheated, or very cold, there is caused a disturbance to the nervous system; producing pains across the lower portion and towards the end of the ribs, also those reflexes to those centers in the locomotories.

7. Thus the hip and thigh becomes tired or appears to draw, even along the sciatic center at times.

8. If there is any excess of acid in the system, or the lack of proper eliminations, or a slowing of the kidneys in their eliminating of acids - especially the uric acid, this especially causes distress when the atmospheric pressure is low.

9. So, as indicated, in the correcting of these we find there would be great assistance also in eliminating those disturbances where the lymph circulation and soft tissue of face and throat are affected. Also the tendency towards a

form of anemia will be corrected. For, it is the irritation upon the general nervous system that causes this distress.

10. In making applications for helpful forces, then:

11. About once a week we would apply for twenty to thirty minutes the Infra Red Light. This will aid.

12. Also on the same evening that such a relaxing or treating is done with the Infra Red Light, we would apply iodized table salt that is completely saturated with Pure Apple Vinegar. Use the regular iodized table salt, you see, thoroughly dampened with apple vinegar - just sufficient to be massaged along that area of the spine from the 9th dorsal down to the sacral area, along both sides of it.

13. Then, whenever there is pain - whether this be once a day or once a week - we would paint the area with a combination of three parts Laudanum and one part Aconite; using a small camels' hair brush. Then apply heat.

14. After the heat has been applied - that is, after the painting has been done - the heat may be applied better by using an equal combination of Mutton Tallow (melted), Spirits of Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor. This may be put on a flannel, or a flannel may be soaked in this compound - not so that it is drippy, but just so it is well greased with same, see? Apply directly the the skin, and let there be sufficient flannel to cover the whole area - THEN apply heat to drive this in. It will relieve the pain.

15. Also the Infra Red AND the massage will relieve - that is, the massage with the salt and vinegar.

16. DO have Dr. Smith give osteopathic corrections, VERY gently, until it is located and there is a reduction of those disturbance in the area of the last - or floating ribs, along the spinal system.

17. Do that.

18. Ready for questions.

19. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (See extra sheet [which was enclosed] of directions for Osteopath, Dr. Arthur E. Smith, ..., Ohio.
