This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 29th day of July, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [2791], new Associate Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Miss [1548] and Mrs. [1523].

R E A D I N G

Born September 18, 1908, in Wilson, New York. Time of Reading 11:05 to 11:50 A. M. Eastern War Time. ..., New York.

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: (In going back over years from the present - " - '40 - changes in environs - '39 - '38 - disappointments - '36 - '30 - periods of expectancy - " etc., on back to birth date.)

3. Yes, we have, we are given the records here of that entity now known as or called [2791].

4. A beautiful record!

5. Then entity tends to discount itself too much.

6. The abilities to control or influence are latent and present; for the entity was an Atlantean.

7. Hence there will be in this experience that as may be a character of success or a complete failure; dependent upon choices made as to the ideal, the controlling influence with which the entity sets about to apply the latent talents and abilities in the present experience.

8. In giving the interpretation of the records as we find them, these we choose from same with the desire and purpose that this may be a helpful experience for the entity; enabling the entity to better fulfill those purposes for which it chose to entered this particular sojourn.

9. Know that life is eternal. There is a consciousness of hope, of fear, of doubt, and of knowledge. These are portions of consciousness arising in the experience of each and every individual. And at times to this entity these

have appeared or have become in quite a form or manner as to bring discouragements, disappointments and fears.

10. One may not run away from these, for they are ever present. For, fears and doubts and hopes, and abilities, lie latent within. Know indeed that thy body - thy BODY - is the temple of the living God, and there He hath promised to meet thee. There ye may commune with Him. And if the Lord thy God be with thee, who can make thee afraid, who can be against thee?

11. These are the basis or the principles upon which there is the choice of this information, recorded upon the skein of time and space, or upon the Akashic records - as sometimes termed. These, of course, we choose with the same principles as may be applied in the dealings with thy fellow man, and in thy relationships one to another. Minimize the faults of others, if ye would have others minimize thy faults in thee. Magnify the virtues if ye would have thy Father, thy God, magnify thy blessings, thy virtues in thy dealings with others.

12. We find Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Uranus - and Uranus, with the experience in Atlantis, makes for those unusual abilities; and yet those sudden extremes that arise in the experience. When the body finds itself so expectant, elated, wondrous are the experiences! And then suddenly, as if there was no hope, all is washed away.

13. In Mercury, though, we find that latent and manifested ability to think and to think straight.

14. We find in Venus combined with Jupiter the great love emotions, that have not been materialized in the experience. Thus the abilities of the entity to embrace, in its relationships with others, that which is beautiful and good and helpful - or the channels through which greater expression should find manifestations and materializations. Thus we will find a great love in the experience of this entity.

15. In these activities, let them ever be tempered with that judgment as has been indicated, that is found in Him; knowing thy body, thy mind, thy soul, each seek expression that they each in their own sphere of awareness may come into the activities through those graces, those mercies, that love found in that Creative Force which should be, - yea, must be - manifested in the relationships one to another, if there will be peace and harmony latent within self.

16. The choice of the ideal, then, is found in Him, - spiritually, mentally, materially. Thus those promises that are ever so personal, yet so universal, as the entity has

the concept of, that they become thy very own; and He will not depart from thee. Call and He will hear, and answer speedily.

17. As to the experiences of the entity through the material plane - while not all may be given, these have been quite varied in their application of life in the experience:

18. Before this the entity was in the land of the present nativity, when there were those settlings in that early period - when there was the spreading of the settlings in the eastern and western portion of that land of nativity.

19. The entity was among those of that group, the hardy pioneers, who pushed ever westward. These brought into the entity's experience that latent love of nature, that development that makes for the entity's interest in things and conditions out of doors, rather than those combined or confined in halls or walls or places of that nature.

20. These have brought and do bring about nature love and nature understanding. In the experience the entity gained. For, it became an instructor to those of the young, as well as the home builder. This is latent, this is manifested in the mental experience of the entity in the present.

21. Know that mind is the builder. That which is conceived in the spirit is materialized through the mental processes, according to what is done with ideas and ideals. Thus ye build to understanding, as ye builded through those experiences - as Ida Wentworth, and brought into the experiences of many the hopeful outlook, and freedom to many who were under the instruction or direction.

22. Yet portions of those experiences were such that, in the latter activity, the entity met a hardship not easily understood - save from another experience, when there has come the feeling from same as of unworthiness, or as of "Well, it couldn't happen to me." Not entirely a concept of being belittled, but "Well, it may be for someone else, but couldn't be to me." These rather are the latent expressions.

23. Thus the entity belittles its own abilities too much. For, as from that experience - and from another - the ability to write for children is a latent and manifested experience; especially nature stories, those things that would have to do with outdoors, with the various manners of entertainment, or play, and its part in the life of groups or of children.

24. In these the entity may succeed, and it would give an outlet for the abilities of the entity that would bring a great deal of expression of harmonies within self.

25. DO apply self in those directions.

26. Before that the entity was in the English land, during those periods of the early Crusades, when there were those activities as to ideals that were rather ideas.

27. The manners in which individuals and groups were left, and the entity with its sex and with its activities, being left apparently with an unmindfulness of purposes, brought resentments. And yet the cowarding, by the force and power used in some portions of the land, brought determinations; not hates - these are far from the entity's experience. And count thyself blessed that hate is not a part of the experience; though the holding of grudges is sometimes too easily manifested.

28. The entity gained and lost and gained, in the name Marie Murelli. In the present from same comes those abilities to follow directions given, and these at times cause the entity some anxiety. For, it desires to give - as then - expression of its OWN self, rather than being controlled by another.

29. Thus may the entity see in self that outlet, that freedom as will be a part of the experience, by attempting and by giving expression of itself as to what it would have individuals do in their relationships to others; in the stories that the entity would write for the young.

30. This DO do.

31. Before that the entity was in the Palestine land, during those periods when the Master walked in the earth.

32. The entity was very young through those periods when there was the last week of the Master's activity in and about Jerusalem; though the entity was among those close to that family in Bethany.

33. The entity knew the Master, the entity was blessed by Him; the entity was acquainted with those activities when Lazarus was called forth. The entity was acquainted with that activity when the great feast was made for Lazarus and the Master with His disciples.

34. Hence to the entity, as from the Atlantean experience, nothing is impossible. Yet, "It may happen to others and not to me."

35. Those periods were trials for the entity, through the persecutions that arose. Yet they were also periods of great development of latent force. And what a story the entity might write as to that which took place in the heart and the life of the individual child blessed by the Master as He ministered to the needs of others, as to that effect created in the mind of the child when the elders rebuked because the child sought the awakening as brought by the love, the care, the tender words of one - as the Master, or

as a friend, or as an associate - when that of hope for the beauty of eternal life was being portrayed.

36. The entity in the experience was known as Ruth, and was of the associates and co-workers with Lazarus, Mary and Martha, in Bethany.

37. Before that the entity was in the Persian or Arabian land, among those of the Grecians who came into the land to undermine.

38. The entity was one beautiful in body, beautiful in ability of persuasion. And the persuasion is still within the abilities of the entity in the present. Too oft are these discounted by the self.

39. Know the way ye choose, and then trust in Him to give the words, to give the power, to control and give that as ye would choose - through any experience - in the present.

40. In that sojourn, though, the entity came under the influence of the teacher in the 'city in the hills and plains.' And with the attempt for instruction to the young, the entity was the one who wrote the plays, the books for the interpreting by peoples of many varied tongues.

41. The name then was Eu-el-gue. In the experience the entity gained.

42. Apply self in those directions, as ye did through that experience. Know more of those things as ye brought into thy activity, and bring about those actions in the self in the present.

43. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, when there were those turmoils and strifes.

44. The entity was a sister of the King, that was pitted against the Natives, as well as those that brought about those separations in the activities of the Priest.

45. But when there were those turmoils that arose by the King's household rebelling, when the Natives and the Atlanteans brought those disturbing factors, the entity was among those who made overtures for the return of the Priest.

46. And there we find the abilities of the entity as directing the young and those of the varied groups in their choice of service or activities, that brought about a great change in those experiences through that period in that land.

47. The name then was Ar-Ar-Est-Erl.

48. Before that the entity was in the Atlantean land, when there were those periods of the first breaking up of the land, when the sons of Belial brought about the use of spiritual laws for material benefits.

49. Those fears that oft arise, and those differences, come from some experiences of the entity - as Princess Marlein -

in that sojourn. For, the entity was a princess that listened to the voice of a son of Belial. Though the entity sought not that of self or of self-indulgence, it belittled self in its OWN mind, through those turmoils that arose from that experience.

50. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, that to which it may attain, and how:

51. First, study thyself. And know thy ideal. Know the author of thy ideal and thy faith. Apply self in those abilities that are latent to write for children books and magazine articles, plays, that may be used by the young in the ten twelve and the early teen age, especially.

52. That ye will find an outlet for self, that will bring harmony, material gains, independence! but remain dependent upon the Lord! For of thyself ye may indeed do little, but with Him, working with Him, ye can do much. For as He has given, "If ye love me, feed my lambs."

53. Ready for questions.

54. (Q) Where should I study or get experience to follow in the suggestion of writing stories? (A) You have the experience within self! Commence! Begin!

55. (Q) Have I any special talent that should be developed, other than the writing? (A) That especially as of being a leader or director in such activity. But this is the greater talent, and - of course - the home building.

56. (Q) In what specific section of the country would I find the most congenial relationships and opportunity for happiness? (A) This, as ye have realized, ye make for thyself. If ye would have friends and happiness, make friends and make others happy. Then ANYWHERE! Those various characters of stories chosen to be written will take the entity to varied places, and varied understandings - but stay away from large cities, for ye love nature.

57. (Q) What was my relationship in the past incarnations with Robert Carey? Explain the present urges from these associations. (A) In the English experience, very unsatisfactory - because he left thee and ye never quite lost sight of the manner in which ye were treated. And doubts have arisen. Yet there are those obligations, those things to be worked out together yet. As may be indicated from or by a little imagination of that as would arise from such experiences - these are the urges in the present.

58. (Q) Should my present relationship with him remain closed?

(A) It will be opened of itself, for it is not finished as yet.

59. (Q) What attitude should I hold for our mutual development? (A) As ye would be forgiven, forgive.

60. (Q) Please give further guidance for stabilizing my emotional life and directions for new interest and activities for mental and spiritual development. (A) Study well that which has been indicated here. Much of this may open to thee an entirely new field of thought, of activity. But first learn that as ye serve others, ye serve they Lord, thy God. And remember this - not as a goody-goody, not as one who would shut self away, but - it is rather one that goes about doing good. Do that. Let this be thy prayer, then, oft: LORD, THOU ART GOD! IN THY HANDS I GIVE MY LIFE. MAKE ME THAT THOU WOULD HAVE ME BE, THROUGH THE PROMISES THAT ARE SET IN THE CHRIST, THE LORD.
