This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of August, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self [2795], new Associate Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [1472].

Born December 26, 1913, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Time of Reading 3:25 to 4:05 P. M. Eastern War Time. N.Y.C.

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: (In going back over years from the present - " - '40 - '41 - years of wonderings - '39 - '33 - preparation - '32 - " etc., on back to birth date.)

3. Yes - we are given the records here of that entity now known as or called [2795]. A great deal of what is at times called royalty is indicated in the material experiences; these coming under rather unusual circumstance.

4. In giving the interpretation of the records as we find them - we find that the entity is not only an Atlantean (and a real Atlantean) but a Uranian, with Neptune's influence. Hence we will find one with all the abilities of the adept, but it will depend upon the choice of associations, and the names and groups with which the entity identifies itself, as to whether it has the opportunity to develop those abilities that are latent or manifested.

5. Thus the entity may have three courses - a complete failure, a mediocre career, or that which will outshine most of its fellows.

6. Then, in giving the interpretation, we choose this information from the records, with the desire and purpose that this may be a helpful experience for the entity; enabling the entity to better fulfillthose purposes for which it entered this material sojourn.

7. To be sure, we would minimize faults, we would magnify virtues. This the entity also should do, in its associations with others and with self.

8. As to the urges that are latent - we find that the material sojourns in Atlantis and in Persia have a great influence, and also those sojourns during the interims have their meaning; not as from the astrological, yet such terms are used because the consciousness or awareness of an individual entity is accredited to such a consciousness, or to such a dimension.

9. Thus we find Mercury as the high-minded influence, yet from the Uranian and Neptune the interest in the occult as well as in the mystical. These may so impede the activities of the entity as for that attempted to be evilspoken of.

10. Hence in making application of the urges that arise, there are the needs for the entity to use the Mercurian force in stabilizing self. Not that the entity should not always be ready and willing to give an answer for the faith that lies within, but being in a material world let that which is of the spirit bespeak of itself in the good, the truth, the kindness, the gentleness, the patience, the brotherly love that is shown in the dealings with others; rather than that as may be indicated by the influences that judge not from the material application of spirituality in the experience.

11. Jupiter, as we find, is in the background. This is the benevolent influence. And in the thirty-fourth or fifth year should bring those experiences in which that application of self may be turned into that which is a construction in brotherly love, and those activities in which the entity may then find itself given to bringing and creating a unison of purpose in the spirit of truth as found in the Way, the Truth and the Light.

12. As to the appearances in the earth - these have been so vast in their urge, and so far-reaching in the experiences of the world, that the entity at times is termed the dreamer and not quite practical to the lay mind. Yet these may be the channels through which the entity may be able, as it has given in the experiences in the earth, to give the greater interpretation, the greater understandings.

13. Before this the entity was in the French land, during those periods of the reconstructions and the latter part of the period when many portions of the land and the peoples arose as for the Crusade for an ideal.

14. These, and the experiences, brought disappointments to this entity. And in the latent urges we find the fear of being misunderstood, or of being misinterpreted. And yet that seeking latently for those activities that will be of a universal nature to bring betterment of every nature to the fellow man. This oft, as in that experience, is

indeterminate as to whether the approach should be from the spiritual man or the mental or the physical man.

15. The name then was Sledgette. The entity gained, lost, and gained; gained when there was the holding to the universal consciousness; lost when disappointments and discouragements came from the physical shortcomings and associations.

16. Before that the entity was in the Persian land, when there were those activities in the Holy Land. (This, of course, was preceding that experience when the entity was as a nonentity yet gained much, as the son of that entity Judy [1472] that led the Essenes' activity. Yet with the persecutions the entity became as one paralyzed from fear, - bodily fear. These brought disappointments. For, in the experience before - )

17. The entity was the Persian and Chaldean king [Cyrus the Great?] who moved first to declare the rights of each group and of each nation to worship according to the dictates of their own conscience; and issued those first decrees for the return of those of Judah to the rebuilding of the temple, and for those activities of the associates of the entity, that brought into the experience of those peoples of that land the releases, as well as to the people in the Indian land, and those in the Persian and in the land now known as China, Indo-China and the eastern lands.

18. These have brought, do bring to the experience of the entity those things of interest in regard to all forms of activity, motivative influences that prompt those peoples of these various lands as they seek in this period of a world of turmoil for their spiritual as well as economic and political expression in the earth.

19. Then as the king, and a kingly king, the entity gained the greater; overcoming and aiding much of that which was a part of the entity's experience in the Atlantean activity where in some of those periods the entity misapplied its power and might.

20. In the present experience we find that all that comes into the experience of the entity may be used in the FREEING of peoples from oppression, as it was through those periods of activity by the entity, as not only recorded in Holy Writ but in the history of that particular period of man's activity through the earth. For, all the reforms as may be a part of the experience may be pointed to in the activities of the entity in that particular period, as the Chaldean and Persian king.

21. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, when there were the coalitions of activities from the Atlanteans

as well as those who under the leadership of the King or Priest had set about the preservation of those activities from various portions of the land, for an enlightenment to nations of the earth.

22. There the entity was that one who, with the passing of Ra-Ta, took those activities as the leader in the spiritual as well as the economic activities; leaving to the young King only the political and military powers through that particular period of activity.

23. Then in the name Het-le, the entity lost hold of that spiritual concept, yet in the latter portion of its experience - with the deteriorating factors that had entered in by the worship of individual things rather than the spiritual - the entity determined to correct those wrongs. Thus did the entity accomplish much in the Persian and Chaldean experience, in the next sojourn.

24. Before that the entity was in the Atlantean land, when there were those usages of the high developments in the activities of the mechanical nature.

25. Thus the entity was one who builded the planes, those activities in air, in water, as directed by the stone from which the forces were generated - or such as the radio beam in the present - from that central facet for which the entity made those experiences - and that are the dreams of the entity in the present.

26. These may be used for constructive or destructive forces. These were allowed to become, or did become, those forces that brought about the last breaking up of Poseidia. In the experience the entity held fast to the creative purposes but was overruled by the sons of Belial, when those warrings began between the sons of the children of the Law of One and the sons of Belial.

27. Then the name was Esselme.

28. Before that the entity was also in the Atlantean land, among the sons of that one who first set about to choose that way in which there would be those applications for the benefit of the group, rather than just individual application - when those activities brought about the united efforts that had been proclaimed by the entity's father.

29. The entity then unified the usages of spiritual laws to the awakening or unfoldment of the activities for the benefits of the brotherhood of man - as it unified itself against those destructive forces in the forms of those projections that had become as torments to those who chose the Law of One.

30. In the experience the entity applied itself in that of

the universal brotherhood - in the name then Selem.

31. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, then, - that to which it may attain, and how:

32. No limit may be set as to the abilities of an entity who puts self - in purpose, in desire, in hope - on the side of the Creative Forces, of the ONE God. And certainly no one who has through the earth experiences made such an application of self for the general benefit of and to the purpose of unifying brotherhood through the earth.

33. Though the mechanical and the spiritual applications may be applied in those ways that may become destructive, know first thy ideal: There is one God, and there is ONE way - and He that ye feared in those experiences as the leading of the sect that proclaimed His coming, and ye saw it fall away because of fear, proclaim in thy life, in thy light. Know His promises; not as sayings but as words to thee.

34. These may bring an understanding of that way in which ye may again bring to those that seek His face, not only their crosses but their blessings also. For He came that ye might have life and have it more abundantly.

35. May ye not, then, be a messenger for Him?

36. These ways are not past finding out. For as He hath given, "If ye call, I will hear - if ye seek, ye shall find. I stand at the door and knock. Open and I will enter in." But ye yourself - yes, ye thyself - must open. He opens it not for thee, until thou hast determined in thine heart, "Others may do as they may, but for me I will serve the living God."

37. Know then thy ideal, in spirit, in truth; and the author of thy faith. And as He gave, "I am the Door. By me ye may enter in." And he that climbeth up some other way robs himself of that beauty, of that understanding that puts him at peace with things that be, things that are and things that are to come.

38. These, then, ye seek.

39. Ready for questions.

40. (Q) What is the real purpose of my present incarnation; and the work best suited to its fulfillment and to my complete integration? (A) As may be drawn in inference and application from those activities that have been in the earth; that of UNIFYING man to his oneness with that Creative Force we call God.

41. (Q) Would marriage be advisable for me; if so, who would be my right companion, and if this person is not my true mate, who and where is my true mate? (A) There should be the answer from within as to this. For, as through thy experiences in the earth, oft has this

phase of thy experience brought disappointments. Thus ye find in the present. But until there has been the completing of the present emergencies in thy experience with thy seekings as well as thine own land being free, think not of such associations.

42. (Q) Is my present knowledge along inventive lines connected with any former incarnation; if so, when and where; and how may I gain a fuller awareness of scientific principles known in other incarnations and now partially remembered; and how may I best develop this knowledge here and now for the service of mankind? (A) In those experiences in both the first mentioned Atlantean experiences, the knowledge was a part of the entity. As the king in Persia and Chaldea, ye made a practical application of same in thy dealings with thy fellow man. In the present turn within, if ye would know the way, the truth, the light. For, as has been given, when ye rely upon those forces of the divine, offering thyself as a channel to be used unto the glory of God and for the benefit spiritually of thy fellow man, as He hath given, "I will bring to thy remembrance all things from the foundations of the world." Thus it is not from without, but it is within thyself that ye may meet Him. For thy body is indeed the temple of the living God. There He has promised to meet thee, just as sincerely as ye seek; though knowledge without understanding may become sin - as it was in thy misapplication in the experiences when it was brought into destructive forces.

43. (Q) When, where, and what has been my association in past incarnations with the following people; what are the present urges from same; and how may we be of mutual help to each other here and now? First, [...], my father? (A) In the experience before this ye worked together, when there came the awakening to the real principles that should have prompted the activities in that period when there was by force the attempt to further spirituality. It is the choice, not by force. "Not by might nor by power, but by my spirit saith the Lord of host." Also in Atlantis there were the awakenings through the efforts of that entity who is now the father.

44. (Q) [...], my mother? (A) In the Egyptian land, as well as that companion in the Persian and Chaldean land - when ye were so encouraged by the entity now the mother.

45. (Q) [1472]? (A) Ye were the son of Judy in the Palestine experience.

46. (Q) Virginia Perry Sargent Strickland? (A) In Egypt, and in the Atlantean land. The Egyptian association came at that experience when there were those unifyings, and those spreadings. Also there were associations in other experiences not indicated in the list given here.

47. (Q) Sandra Strickland, daughter of above? (A) As a companion through the Egyptian experience, and in the Atlantean.

48. (Q) Colleen Ward? (A) In the period before this, ye left that entity for a service that proved not that really desired.

49. (Q) Margaret Bayard Lyon? (A) We do not find an association.

50. (Q) Satya Mukerki? (A) In the experiences in Chaldea, in Egypt, and in both of the Atlantean experiences.

51. (Q) Walter D. C. Johnson? (A) The experiences in the Atlantean land - ye worked together, ye worked against one another; and ye worked together in the Chaldean land.

52. (Q) Kikuko Miyakawa? (A) In the experiences in the Atlantean land.

53. (Q) Mary Lee Wynn? (A) This we do not find. This should be paralleled, however; for there has been an association.

54. (Q) Are my inventive ideas regarding inertia motors, communication receivers, the structure and operation of the atom, the construction and operation of the Atlantean Maxin Unfed Light, transmutation, gravitation, levitation, crystal lights, a heating instrument, and an astronomical telescope, scientifically sound and practical; and if so, when would be the appropriate time for these to be developed for the use of mankind? (A) They ARE scientific. They are not sound to the present application. They may eventually become so, as the use of self in its association to others makes same worthy of acceptation and in use for constructive forces in the experience of others. In about the thirty-fifth year would be the appropriate time.

55. (Q) Should I continue to cooperate with Edith Ellis and the Society for Etheric Research in the scientific development of an interplanetary communication instrument; and if so, have you any suggestions to offer regarding the construction and operation of such an instrument? (A) Continue in the study of these things through EVERY

channel. That there are times when there are questions arising with the study with Ellis, to be sure may be channels that may separate self from the practical application of same. But get first understanding. THEN the knowledge as may come through this channel, as well as the intuitive forces, may be given thee in a fuller measure; else ye tempt thine own self to thine own undoing. Get understanding of thy relationship to the Creative Force as was manifested in Jesus the man, Jesus the Christ.

56. We are through for the present.
