Time of Reading 10:50 to 11:10 A. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Va.
1. HLC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2811].
3. As we find, there are conditions that are gradually undermining the better physical forces of the body.
4. While they arise primarily from a physical disturbance, we find that they affect the body in rather a complicated manner or way.
5. This also contributes to those anxieties, which in their reaction contribute to the general nervous condition.
6. These arise from a condition that has existed for some time back; this arising from what was a minor injury or hurt in the beginning. But with the deflection of energies and the addition of properties of varied natures in the system to meet the disturbances produced, the combination of these tended to make the disorder more aggravating than serious. However, it may gradually grow to be more and more serious, since complications arise.
7. Then, these are the conditions in the physical as we find them with this body, [2811] we are speaking of:
8. In the blood supply - we find this rather low, and a form of anemia; more from nerve energies being disturbed and lack of proper assimilation, than from any infection in any of the blood stream itself.
9. In the nervous system do we find the sources or the basis of the disturbances. In the cerebrospinal system, especially through the lumbar axis and the sacral and coccyx, do we find the sources of these physical disturbances.
10. These, deflecting, cause a very poor circulation
2811-1 Page 2
especially through the lower limbs; thus causing large veins that at times sap the whole strength of the body. These while not breaking, unless corrections are made in these directions, they may reach such proportions that irritation, or an injury of any nature, might cause serious troubles. The blood flows away from the heart but does not, in its normal manner, flow back to the heart.
11. This, then, is a deflection in such a manner in the lumbar and coccyx and sacral area as to cause the slowing of the circulation.
12. These, naturally, have their reflexes through the assimilating and especially the eliminating systems.
13. These cause, then, those disturbances that, with the general nervous conditions, aid to impoverish the blood supply. These also, then, upon those deflections, cause a tendency to produce an excess acidity - when the body becomes irritated by external or outside influences or associations.
14. Foods taken at such times do not digest properly. For, the complications are thus such as to form the upsetting of the equilibrium in the lacteals and the activities of the digestive fluids; reducing the alkalinity and producing an excess of acidity.
15. The body then finds, as the result, not only a form of headache but the inability to rest or to sleep well, save just as at periods.
16. These tend to make for the greater disturbance then, by the combination of these, throughout the activity of the respiratory system.
17. As we find, these - physically - are the sources and the reactions.
18. To be sure, there are other irritations, but when the corrections are made through the lower portion of the cerebrospinal system - and then coordinating the upper dorsals and cervical with same - adding to the body the proper influences to produce the better or more normal coordinations in the assimilating forces - we will bring better conditions for this body.
19. First, then - under the directions of such as Irvin, - we would have a correction of those subluxations in the coccyx, the lumbar AND the sacral areas; coordinating those in the upper dorsal and through the cervical with the corrections.
20. Do not make too much adjustment at first, but rather let them be relaxing treatments - in the beginning.
21. Have these until at least twelve to fifteen such treatments have been taken - that is, the corrective
2811-1 Page 3
measures.
22. After there has been the second or third of such corrections made, then we would have a colonic irrigation; a thorough colonic irrigation, to remove the poisons that will naturally have accumulated through the alimentary canal and especially the colon, from the use of the medicinal properties we will indicate to be taken during that period to cause better digestion. And during the period the adjustments, we would have two or three of such colonic irrigations, see - which should be sufficient, if given properly.
23. As for the medicinal properties, digestants or lactics to aid in digestion:
24. Take internally small quantities at each meal of Milk of Bismuth and a few drops of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin, stirred together in about half a glass of water. Stir in the water about half a teaspoonful of the Bismuth and five to six drops of the Pepsin, and drink immediately after each meal, see?
25. In the foods, we would have more of the relaxing or bulky nature, that tend to make for laxatives through the system. These if possible to be had are preferable to taking cathartics or laxatives that are of an irritating nature to the flow in the peristaltic activity of the alimentary canal. Then, use such a Bran with figs and such foods combined with same; as prunes, pieplant, and this character of foods. These will aid in relieving the distresses.
26. Do these, and then when fifteen of the osteopathic treatments have been given, we would give further instructions.
27. These we would do in the present.
28. Ready for questions.
29. (Q) Would you advise any particular treatment to keep the coccyx in place? (A) For this it is necessary to make the corrections. Make them in the lumbar and sacral also, and these will stay in place better.
30. (Q) Would you advise any particular treatment for hemorrhoids? (A) If the laxative foods as indicated are taken, these will aid. When these conditions give particular trouble, we would use an oil enema; that is, by using a baby enema or bulb we would inject a combination of oils into the rectum, prepared in this manner: To 2 ounces of Usoline add 1 ounce of Glycerine in which two drops of Carbolic Acid have been stirred thoroughly.
2811-1 Page 4
Do not inject all of this at once, but about a tablespoonful of this mixture - whenever there is trouble. And we find this will relieve the itching as well as the tendency for the dropping of the colon. But if the precautions are taken when the colonic irrigations are given, these disturbances should be relieved.
31. (Q) Would you suggest that the shots I am taking for the gland trouble be continued during this course of treatments? (A) We would discontinue the shots, during this particular period.
32. (Q) Is there anything wrong with me that the doctors haven't found? (A) Not as we find. As indicated, these are the sources. Complications are continually arising from these, but these are understood - or would be understood from the suggestions given here.
33. (Q) Would this treatment eliminate the nervousness and mental condition? (A) As indicated, this is the purpose of same!
34. (Q) What is the cause of my mind being sick, and will this treatment help it? (A) As indicated - with this continuous irritation, this bearing down through the abdominal area, the stresses upon the lower extremities - naturally there are the constant tensions in the mental forces and these are kept at an aggravated stage. But these treatments consistently adhered to as indicated should relieve these disturbances. Do that, and we will give further instructions as the reactions are seen from this character of treatments. So do those in the present, and we will find help.
35. We are through for the present. Two copies to Self (one for Dr. C. W. Irvin, Bankers Trust Copy to Ass'n file Bldg, Norfolk - if Dr. Irvin does not give the colonic irrigations, he can refer you to someone in the same building who can give you these at the proper intervals) (Let us know when you have had fifteen adjustments from Dr. Irvin, so we can make an appointment for a Ck. Physical Rdg. to give further directions.) ections.)
