Time of Reading 10:50 to 11:10 A. M. Eastern War Time. New York City.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2884], this we have had before.

3. As we find, there are many indications of disturbances - as we have indicated. While the body has developed, there are still tendencies and inclinations in those lacks of proper assimilation and proper coordination of eliminations.

4. These, then, are conditions as we find them in the present with this body, [2884] we are speaking of:

5. The blood supply indicates an incoordination in eliminating systems, which is also indicated in the rash that at times gives a good deal of trouble to the body.

6. This has in a manner, with the attempt to diet, caused much of that lack of the building of strength and vitality, and the lack of the rich red blood that is needed to even help in eliminations.

7. All of these, then, are combined together.

8. As we find, there are those disturbances in and through the alimentary canal that cause the greater part of the trouble.

9. We find that massage, by a masseuse, would be very helpful, and this we would have at least once each week. But first, each time before the massage is given, do have a very mild - but very definite - Fume bath with Witchhazel. Then following the massage we would use ZEMO, a compound for the irritation on roughened portions of the body, see? and over this put Peanut Oil.

10. Each day take internally at least an ounce and a half of Yellow Saffron Tea. Prepare this by putting half a teaspoonful of the Saffron (American Saffron) in a crock and pouring a pint of boiling water over same, allowing to steep as ordinary tea.

11. In practically ALL of the water that is taken, or

2884-5 Page 2

especially that taken at home and at meals, have the gum from the slippery elm; that is, put a pinch of the Powdered Elm in a glass of water - or in each glass of water. Do not let it stand too long before drinking, and yet do not drink it before it has formed an activity in the water; for if this forms in the system it would work to a disadvantage. Yet if the powdered elm becomes too old or stale in the water, this would be harmful also. Just let it set a bit, not to become so thickened as to be obnoxious to the body, but stir and let set for fifteen to twenty minutes - then drink - a pinch of the powdered elm in each glass of water taken.

12. And take PLENTY of water through the day; at least six glasses of water during a day.

13. Do take two days in succession each week, for at least five or six weeks - while the rest of these things suggested are being done - one drop of Atomidine in water before the morning meal. Set a definite time to take this; say Mondays and Tuesdays, or Wednesdays and Thursdays, or Fridays and Saturdays of each week, and take it on those two days each week!

14. In the diet - do have whole wheat or whole grain cereals. Do use a great deal of the kernel of the wheat Germ - this either on other cereals or cooked in the fruits or vegetables. We do not mean the Wheat Germ Oil, but the Wheat Germ as a kernel - it is very small, but it will be effective.

15. Do take fish at least twice each week.

16. Do not take too much of fats, but plenty of vegetables - raw and cooked.

17. Do these, and we will bring better conditions for this body.

18. Ready for questions.

19. (Q) Are her menstrual periods normal? (A) Considering the general condition, they are normal; but we will see near normalcy with these treatments indicated, - especially if ALL of these are given as suggested.

20. (Q) What can be done to straighten her posture? (A) This mostly must be done by herself, but the massages will aid materially.

21. (Q) Are cigarettes harmful to her condition, and do they cause her shortness of breath? (A) In moderation, not harmful; but the shortness of breath is caused by the lack of blood, combined at times with too many cigarettes.

22. (Q) What treatment would you suggest for her hair and scalp? (A) This should be as a very gentle treatment. Let this

come a little bit later, and then use any good cleanser and work White Vaseline into the scalp after it is cleansed each time.

23. We are through for the present. Copy to Father " " Ass'n file (See extra sheet [which was enclosed] of directions for Physiotherapist to give the massage and fume baths. We would refer you to Dr. H. J. Reilly, R.C.A. Bldg. You should be able to get Atomidine from your local druggist, as it has been distributed by Schieffelin & Co. However, it is manufactured by The Atomidine Co., 9 So. 8th Ave., Mt. Vernon, N.Y., and sells for $1 a bottle. Take ONLY as directed in the Reading. Powdered Elm may be purchased at most any drug store under that name. It is distributed by S. B. Penick & Co., Asheville, N.C., and sells for only a few cents an ounce. The American Saffron may also be purchased at most any good drug store; it also is inexpensive, about 50 cents a box containing several ounces.) s.)
