1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes.
3. As we find, there are conditions that disturb the body. These in a manner are general. Yet most of these arise from a specific cause. But the disturbance is through the effect produced upon organs in their functioning.
4. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [2926]:
5. The blood supply indicates congestion in areas of the body, and the variations in the upper portion and the affectation to the organs of the sensory system indicate same in head, and face.
6. The effect this has produced upon digestion and the eliminations is also indicated in the disturbed circulation in extremities, indicated at times in lower limbs, through the alimentary canal, through the arms, and even at times at the pit of the stomach - or the secondary cardiac plexus reactions.
7. In the nerve forces we find disturbances indicated through the centers, in the coordinating of superficial and deeper circulation. Hence the condition of a catarrhal nature that has existed at times especially in the antrum and soft tissue of the face.
8. This has produced a prolapsus of the Eustachian tubes. And with the gradual building of resistances to the circulation, through the head and the neck and the supply from the secondary centers in the upper dorsals and through the cervicals, it gives a disturbance to the auditory centers.
9. These, as we find, then, are the general and the specific disturbances with this body.
10. In making administrations for beneficial conditions, we
2926-1 Page 2
find that these may be materially aided; though, unless there is consistency and persistency in the diets, the exercise and the treatments, these will only make temporary reliefs. But these maintained, we may restore the disturbance - or the hearing - at least thirty to fifty percent. Unless these treatments are kept, however, the relief will only be temporary.
11. We would begin first with the daily application of warm Glyco-Thymoline packs, preferably of evening, over the areas of the cheek, close to the nostril or the antrum, and at the back of the neck. Use at least three of four thicknesses of gauze well saturated in the warm Glyco-Thymoline, though not soaked sufficiently to be dripping or as to become messy or to run onto the clothing. Apply these for at least an hour each evening, for at least three to four evenings in succession.
12. THEN begin with having osteopathic adjustments. After there has been a partial setting up of general drainages from the head and neck, include in these treatments the palate treatment, or the massage through the palate to the eustachian tubes. Do include, of course, centers also about the soft portion of the throat, the chin, and on either side at the area where the medulla oblongata enters through the 1st and 2nd cervical.
13. Give these three each week for the first three to four to five treatments.
14. Then apply the Glyco-Thymoline packs again, for three to four days; this time setting up better drainages through the alimentary canal by the taking daily of a teaspoonful of Eno Salts (before the morning meal).
15. After this rest period of a week from the adjustments, and the Packs having been applied four or five days, with the Eno Salts being taken daily - begin again with the osteopathic adjustments; having at least two each week.
16. Then the diet:
17. Keep away from too much sweets.
18. Do add whole grain cereals and brown or black bread entirely in the diet.
19. Do have plenty of raw vegetables; as celery, lettuce, carrots, radish and the like. These may be made into salads or they may be juiced and the juice taken, but only those as indicated. If juiced, use these in about equal quantity. If taken in a salad, suit the taste.
20. Plenty of fish and of all sea foods. Little or no meats other than the fish or fowl, and do keep up better eliminations.
21. Doing these, we should bring better conditions for the
2926-1 Page 3
body.
22. Of course, about every third treatment osteopathically, include a general treatment. Do not give such treatments just to be hurried through, but take the time to give proper drainages to the head and neck, especially. And stimulate better alimentary canal eliminations. And these should extend, of course, to at least the 9th dorsal. And in the latter series of the adjustments, extend them to the lumbar and sacral - for a general build up of the body.
23. Ready for questions.
24. We are through for the present. Two copies to Husband (one for Dr. Geo. N. Coulter, 18 East 41st St., N.Y.C.) Copy to Ass'n file
