Born August 5, 1894, in David City, Nebraska. Time of Reading 11:20 to 12:10 Noon - Eastern War Time. ..., Illinois.
1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: (In going back over years from the present - " - David City, Nebraska - Yes - here's where you have your friend you haven't looked up - '37 - changes as come about - '30 - unfoldments - " etc., on back to birth date.)
3. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [2946].
4. In giving the interpretation of the records as we find them here, this would be well for the entity to have - the seal of life, which for this entity would be picturalized in this manner:
5. A wayside shrine, with a background as a protection for the Cross - but no figure on the Cross; this as of weathered wood, gray, and the Cross standing out from same, with a tiny shelter or a little roof over same. The background would be of white and red flowers, and a clematis vine growing around portions of same. This alone would be the seal, but made in the colors would be a reminder - ever, to the entity - that it has been, it may be, even along the wayside of life, EVER as a messenger for the Cross; carrying with same (as the vine) that which clings ever. And the white and red flowers (rather vivid) would indicate the crosses, as well as the beauty and the glory that goes ever with same.
6. This may be executed beautifully.
7. In choosing from the records here for this entity, there
2946-2 Page 2
is much from which to choose.
8. The activities through the experiences in the earth have not always been what to the entity might be called beautiful, yet ever an unfoldment.
9. These, though, we would choose - with the desire and purpose that this information be a helpful experience for the entity; enabling the entity, in a measure, to better fulfillthose purposes for which it entered this present sojourn.
10. We would magnify the virtues, we would minimize the faults. For, God looketh on the purpose and the heart, rather than as man judgeth - from the material accomplishments.
11. In giving the urges latent and manifested, these we find - in the application - would not be in accord with the ordinary term of astrological aspects. For, these would proclaim the entity's ability to become very wealthy, and yet the application of self has been rather in the use of self and of the means for the purposes and mind of the spirit. Hence these will ever be sufficient in the experience.
12. Thus we find Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, with Saturn and Uranus as a part of those latent forces - for the consciousness of the entity.
13. Thus beauty, harmony, in every aspect, has been and is that sought for - in the consciousness.
14. Mercury - judgment, conciseness, abilities in given directions, as will be indicated by sojourns also in the material plane.
15. In Jupiter we find the universal consciousness; that as applied in Mercury and in Venus becoming the more spiritualized in its aspects.
16. Saturn indicates the changes, sudden changes. Not as to the spiritual or mental so much as to those in the material.
17. Uranus indicates the extremes to which varied aspects of the activities have attained.
18. These become parts of the universal consciousness of the entity.
19. As to sojourns in the material plane - while all may not be given here, those may be indicated that have been the greater urges in the emotional consciousness, as well as those that are the pattern of the life's application of itself.
20. Before this, then, the entity was in the earth during those early settlings in the land of the present nativity.
21. The choosing rather of the roaming characteristics, the tendency to be drawn here, there, and in varied activities,
2946-2 Page 3
because of the associates or companions during that experience, brought about those tendencies which arise in the present experience.
22. No great accomplishments from external activities are indicated, save as the building in a home. Thus we find the homing instinct, the home that must be kept intact at any cost. These are parts of the deeper characteristics in the entity's consciousness in the present. Though activities may oft call for actions that would bespeak of this becoming secondary, we find that latent within self these are the activities that create in the minds and in the experiences of those whom the entity may influence, that arouse the minds of those with whom the entity may come in contact. Thus the purpose is held.
23. The name then was Lelah Hummer, and the activities were in portions of Missouri, Colorado, Nevada; following the mining in portions of the experience. Thus the awarenesses of the hardships of certain groups that are so changed.
24. Before that the entity experienced the most outstanding of the entity's sojourns in the earth, save one; for this was during that period when the Master walked in the earth.
25. For, the entity was among those of the household that entertained the Master oft; then being an aid to "Mrs. Zebedee," as would be ordinarily termed. John and James were charges or cares of the entity during that experience, and the entity was among those spoken of and referred to as "the other Mary," when no other indication is given as to the place from which the entity came, or as to the group to which the entity belonged.
26. These brought the entity close in contact with the holy women. Especially during those periods following the Crucifixion, the entity became acquainted the better with the Mother. For, as the Mother became a part of that care, that charge of John, the associations became close.
27. Thus the imbibing of those tenets that were indicated so oft by John in the repeating, especially, of the last hours of the Master. These, then, endear to the entity that latter portion of the record of His activity, as given in a portion of the epistle of John; not entirely as given, yet that lacking may almost to the entity at times be supplied. And there is builded in the consciousness - as the walk in the garden, as the repeating of the 91st Psalm that He sang with His disciples - such that these become almost heard at times by the entity.
28. As to the accomplishments, materially - little may be added; yet the aid, the inspiration the entity gave the disciples and Apostles through that period may be counted as
2946-2 Page 4
much that has been and may be the strength of the entity in the present.
29. And EVER must the entity be that messenger of the living Lord, the living Christ, the bread of life, the water of life. And then again the "I am the true vine," and the vine about the seal begins to mean the more in that as may be visioned in that Cross. These may in the present experience come as dreams, as visions; as the fears that arose in the hearts and minds of those through that period, and yet that strength of His might, that strength of His promise. And then "Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me," become new meanings to the entity, as these are visioned under the varied circumstances that have arisen or that may arise in the experience of the entity.
30. The sojourn in the earth through that experience would be WELL to be visioned in its entirely.
31. Before that the entity was in the Mongoloid land, in that period when there was the attempt to unify those tenets from the land of Saad and the old Egyptian land, from those experiences of those in the City of Gold.
32. There the entity was a princess that gained those activities from the teachings in what is now the Indo-China land, or the country much farther South. But the entity established the study of the Law of One, that had been a part of the activities of the early Ming endeavor, and Taoi - as had come from the West. These become the actions of the entity in its endeavor to glorify the spiritual forces in the experiences of the individuals through that land.
33. The love of those peoples, the love of the activities there, will ever be innate in the heart and soul of this entity.
34. For then, as the Princess Su-Saan - there comes ever that helpful hopefulness for the truths in the One God, the One Father, the One Purpose.
35. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, during those periods when there were the activities from the Atlanteans, the rebellions that had destroyed much of the efforts of the Priest during that period of banishment.
36. There the entity was among the Natives that had attempted to clarify to the peoples those tenets that the Priest had proclaimed. Thus did the entity become a part of that movement to reestablish the efforts of the Priest among those groups, as to how - unifying politically - there might be brought the spiritual as well as the material and mental accomplishments, by the restoration of the Priest in authority there.
37. Thus did the entity aid in the reestablishing of the
2946-2 Page 5
Priest to the moral and spiritual leader in the Egyptian experience.
38. That the entity disagreed with the Priest in some of those activities that brought about the establishing of the Temple of Sacrifice and the Temple Beautiful, is a part of those differences as to causes and and effects that may arise with the entity in its groups activities in the present.
39. With the establishing of the Temple of Beauty, or the Temple Beautiful, the entity joined more wholeheartedly into the efforts of the distribution of that taught.
40. The abilities as the writer arise from those experiences. For, these should be in the present the greater part of the entity's efforts. For, these become much farther-reaching than the spoken word entirely. Yet, as was said of old, ever be ready to give a cause for the faith that lies within, whether by word of mouth or by the written word. Yet the writing should be the more stressed, and the speaking gradually less and less.
41. The name then was Arn-Tini-n.
42. As to the abilities in the present, then - that to which it may attain, and how:
43. Let that which is the seal ever be as the light that goeth before thee. Let it ever be a reminder, wherever thou art, whatever may be the circumstance, that the Cross leads the way.
44. As to the application - more and more, as indicated, the time, the self, should be given to the various phases of its ability in the compilation - not merely of tenets but of the experiences of individuals, the experiences of groups; as to where the pitfalls may be depicted; in letters, in books, in tracts; in such a way as to reach the many more.
45. Thus may the entity ever be the directing light in and through the Cross, in the Way.
46. Ready for questions.
47. (Q) If writing, should I proceed with a popular psychology for young girls or turn to fiction? (A) BOTH! For they will be helpful one to another. But compile the psychology as the main, and out of it will grow the fictional stories. But weave in them ever the way to the Cross.
48. (Q) Should I work with the agent already chosen? (A) This is a very good choice. We would for the present, at least.
49. (Q) Where would be the best place to write this summer - at home or at our summer place or at Hazelwood - or some
2946-2 Page 6
other place? (A) We would choose Hazelwood [Dixon, Illinois].
50. (Q) How could I cooperate in my husband's work to better advantage? (A) Where there are the needs for the loose ends to be gotten together, these are the better manners, better ways; not as interfering, not as taking on any great portion of a definite activity, but keeping the loose ends together.
51. (Q) Have I ever been associated in previous incarnations with any of the friends who came to Virginia Beach with me? (A) We haven't the friends as yet. These may be paralleled in their own experience. These as we find have been associated, though, somewhere along the way. For, this is a law - even as was indicated by the Master in His choice of those close to Him. There is nothing by chance. Friendships are only the RENEWING of former purposes, ideals. For, as the preacher gave, "There is nothing new under the sun." For, in the beginning all was made that was made, and as it unfolds from what man terms time to time, period to period, there is only the renewing of the First Cause. Isn't the last apple also that portion of the first one created? Isn't the first friend the same purpose and principle that has been held, or that has grown to be a part of the consciousness? Let those things become as a part of thy application of self, in the picturalization of the life of the Master, - stick close to that which John portrayed to thee and Mary.
52. (Q) How can I be of use in Mr. Cayce's work? (A) Finding those differences as indicated. It would be well to parallel this with the experience of the entity in that particular sojourn. There are those tendencies and differences that may be mended well by the purposes of the entity in those associations and activities. Especially in the aiding of that as would be presented to readers of the work, of the group or Association.
