This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 30th day of March, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self [2954], new Associate Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. David E. Kahn.

Born January 22, 1908, in Berlin, Germany. Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern War Time. New York City.
1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [2954].
3. Many of the experiences of the entity in the earth might be given in symbols or pictures. But we choose from the records here those interpretations that might be helpful, if the entity will but apply same in its experience in the earth.
4. The entity is rather an unusual individual; quite capable, with a great many abilities. And this experience, as an Atlantean, will either be a very successful one or quite a failure.
5. With all the individual's abilities, the entity is oft quite a bluff within itself; that is, making promises or building visions of abilities of self or others, when deep down within self it is known to be almost impractical. While some of the aircastles built may be attained to, it will require a great deal of application of self and of self's abilities to maintain the standard, or the bluff may be called most unexpectedly.
6. In those fields of activity particularly as to literature or poetry, or in business administration, the entity might apply self to advantage; dependent upon how and in what manner or toward what the entity applies self. In business administration, if this channel is used, there are the abilities to bluff itself through, which if used to obtain

self-indulgence will eventually turn and destroy. If the abilities are used for the common good of all, and to the glory of an ideal, it will bring honor to self.
7. Don't try to fool yourself. It's rather hard to do, and eventually causes confusion. And don't think you can ever fool others very long at a time.
8. As to the urges latent and manifested - we find Mercury and Uranus, the high mental abilities and the extremes; so that the entity could write poetry even, be poetic in its attitudes to individuals. These abilities are well and good, if used for the creative influences. If used for self-indulgence, beware!
9. It is not all of life just to live, neither is it all of fame or fortune; for you to have to live with yourself a long, long while. From the Mercurian influences we find the high mental abilities as indicated, and these still further fortified by the Uranian; and the ability of the entity in its approach to those of the opposite sex.
10. Do not abuse thy abilities; use them constructively, lest they again turn and destroy the good that would be.
11. This is not to discredit the entity's abilities, but rather as the warning.
12. Do not ask of others that you would not do yourself. Do not promise others more than you are sure you can fulfill
13. As to the appearances in the earth - we find these quite a bit varied, yet indicating the definite characteristics, definite abilities in the entity's latent and manifested experience. Not all are given, but these have their bearing upon the present experience, and in the next six to fifteen years - dependent upon the use of self, of experience the entity will have in the earth:
14. Before this the entity was in the land of the entity's present sojourn, but during those periods of what is known as or called the Civil War period; when there was a loosening of barriers for entrance into the land for individuals.
15. The entity as a young man entered the land from Prussia, and in the name Otto Hausenhauser. In the experience the entity was forced to act in capacities not agreeable to the entity, when first entering the land; because of the unpleasantness or the conditions which existed in the land at the time. For the entity was forced to pay a price, as it were, for its material desires. Hence barter and trade are a part of the entity's experience - "You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" became sort of a policy. This is not too well done in the present, neither is it safe for thine own conscience's sake. But rather let the law of the

Lord be in its position or place, and keep thou rather the faith of thy fathers through those periods when each of those in authority admonished the people they had guided through the stormy periods in the earth.
16. In the experience then the entity acted in the capacity of a supply seargent, as would be termed today, in the army of the northern land; not by choice but rather by force. Eventually the entity turned those activities into personal gain.
17. Those same forms of opportunities may present themselves under a similar, or dissimilar in many ways, experience of the entity in the present. Know that what thou doest is not alone just that it may be accomplished, but have an ideal, have a purpose; and let it be founded in the spiritual forces rather than that ideal of getting even or - the manifested experience of many - "I must get mine while the getting is good." These will prove to be the undoing in the end, unless thou art sure thou knowest in Whom as well as in what ye have believed, and study to show self approved unto thy ideal, rightly emphasizing the words of truth and keeping self unspotted from condemnation, either by the words of the mouth or the activities that do not always coincide, or in the relationships one to another.
18. Before that the entity was in the Roman experience; being active in writing the happenings in various groups as they responded to or disobeyed the laws, the admonitions that were set as a part of the entity's experience during that particular period.
19. Through the greater part of the experience the entity applied self toward the betterment of others. Hence the ability to choose merchandise as a buyer; the ability to choose timely groups or things and conditions that constitute the impressions to be created upon the minds and the experiences of others, whether for the gratification of the moment or for the deeper feelings. And this the entity with the abilities may change from one to the other; that is, from sentimentality to the reasoning with those that have caused disturbances within a group.
20. Before that the entity was in the Promised Land, when there were some disputations between the various groups in the entity's own household, as pertaining to the services to which the entity might administer - when those in regular order were out of their position or place.
21. This gives the entity a reverence for law and order, as well as the abilities in the sensitiveness of the entity to conditions and forebodings that come about in the experience.

22. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, during those experiences when there was the regenerating of the Priest as well as those close to him in that sojourn.
23. Thus the desire, from the applications of self in the vocational guidance, for the setting of self aside - even when large groups may be about the entity.
24. The name then was Ter-Tel-Ose.
25. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, that to which it may attain, and how:
26. As given, first know thyself, thy ideals, thy mental attributes, thy physical weakness and thy physical strength. Do not fail to become acquainted with these.
27. In those activities of service where there is a greater respect of those about self are the greater opportunities, though they may be in the opposite sex - for they, too, may be endowed with the spirit of helpfulness from above, even as thou mayest be.
28. But keep the umbrella of fate over the entity, and ye will find ye may walk in the way that is pleasing to Him.
29. Turning those abilities into channels of self-indulgence, self-aggrandizement, we may bring quite questionable influences into the experience.
30. But keeping the faith will keep greater confidence in self, as well as manifestedly in others.

32. (Q) Is it indicated what my career will be in the army? (A) This had best be chosen, as indicated or intimated, in the Quartermaster department, or in the purchase of foods, or in the preparations of groups and activities that would have to do with the spiritual and mental side of the lives of many.
33. (Q) What shall be my first step to obtain a commission, or to be commissioned after I enter the army as a private? (A) The abilities to act in the capacity of a buyer, or as a storekeeper or ordinance man. These should be the requests, when there are such opportunities. And don't quit because they refuse you the first time!
34. (Q) What will be the best approach for useful application of my experience for the best of the cause, and secondly for my own satisfaction? (A) Just as indicated.
35. (Q) After return from the war, shall I go back to my old occupation or shall I seek new field of endeavor? (A) Depends upon how WELL physically and materially the entity applies that as given.
36. (Q) Which of these three occupations do you suggest as the most suited for my abilities: Retailing, selling or manufacturing?
