Time of Reading 3:30 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Georgia.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3120].
3. As we find, conditions are not good - at all - with this body. These in the main are so unnecessary, or are the result of negligence on the part of some.
4. These as we find, combined with the other disturbance, make it very much a question as to whether there can be the completing of the period of gestation or not.
5. Then, these are conditions as we find them with this body:
6. The blood supply indicates that this infection is the result of neglect on the part of someone, in not being consistent with the sterilization.
7. This, then, has caused that kind of infection which is shown in the blood such that, even with the full time of the conception, would cause a great deal of trouble with the auditory system and the eyes of the baby if it were born.
8. But with those conditions that exist with this body, unless there are really precautions taken, we do not find that there will be the completing of the period. These precautions can BEST be taken, we find, by the right kind of osteopath; but it will require one versed in taking care of expectant mothers.
9. Then there should be those things and those precautions taken, for the infection arises from the organs of the pelvis. Douches should be taken at least twice each week, alternating the character of the douches, for this state of infection, which will aid in purifying the blood. And both of these properties should be taken internally, as well as being used in douches - vaginal douches, even with the
3120-1 Page 2
present condition. This may save a great deal, if the physician is able to save the child.
10. Use only a Fountain Syringe for the douches. One time use Glyco-Thymoline and the next time Atomidine. The Glyco-Thymoline would be used rather strong, about two tablespoonsful to a quart of water to be injected. The Atomidine would be used at least once a week, or we would use the douches every other day, one time with the Glyco-Thymoline, the next time with the Atomidine; using at least two quarts of water - not too hot, not too cold, but about seventy degrees. The Atomidine solution would be a teaspoonful to a quart and a half of water - and use at least that quantity; in each case retaining the solution as much as possible.
11. Each day take internally about six drops of Glyco-Thymoline, in two doses; three drops in a glass of water in the morning, and three drops in a glass of water during the afternoon; say ten in the morning and three or four in the afternoon.
12. Also each day, before the morning meal, take one drop of Atomidine in half a glass of water.
13. Then have the osteopathic adjustments to correct those disturbances in the cerebrospinal system. These are especially indicated in the lower dorsal area - 11th, 12th, - which has made those tendencies for the trouble with the uterus contractions. These may make a very hard childbirth, or they may prevent the full time of gestation. But if there are the precautions necessary, as with a good osteopath, this MAY be carried through the period; though it will require that the body keep off its feet, be rather quiet most of the time - though do keep in the open as much as possible.
14. Keep precautions as to all things about the body, and be mindful of precautions especially at the period of the birth, as to all infectious forces about the child - if it lives.
15. Ready for questions.
16. (Q) Should the shots I have been taking (for a year and a half) be continued? (A) They are adding to the fire, rather than assisting, as we find - hence would not be necessary.
17. (Q) What caused me to rupture at five months pregnant? (water broke) (A) An injury in the lower dorsals, as indicated, which caused a contraction in the vagina.
18. (Q) Would Dr. Sturges [A. Benjamin Sturges, D.O.] be all right for the osteopathic treatments? (A) Dr. Sturges will tell you more about this than we will!
3120-1 Page 3
WE would accept him, if he would take it! But he must be told what is to be met!
19. (Q) If the baby lives, give treatment for breast. (With other baby, the nipples were so caked and cracked that could not nurse him.) (A) The use, here, of an equal combination of Turpentine, Camphor and Mutton Tallow (melted), as a massage around the breasts, even as a poultice to cover same would be well; leaving the nipples clear, of course - these not to be covered. These will be the better things for caring for these. In either case it would be well to use this, whether the baby lives or doesn't live. Beware of using breast pumps here, until there is the sureness that there is the clearing of the infection of this character from the system. While it may be necessary to draw off the milk, this had best be done by nominal means - either a child or a person, rather than with a pump - so that there may not be a BRUISING of the glands, under the present conditions.
20. (Q) If baby lives, would it be better to put it on a bottle than to nurse it? (A) Would be very much better to put it on the bottle, here.
21. (Q) Any special milk? (A) This depends upon the general conditions. But as we find, Carnation is the better combination for babies.
22. (Q) Should I take any exercise at all? (A) Take a little exercise, to be sure, but not taxation. Do a little walking, but keep in the open as much as practical, and rest a great deal. Keep off the feet - that is, in standing, or the like, but have regular periods for a little exercise, unless there is to be the entire dependence upon the osteopathic treatments for the exercise. Of course, there can be the treatments to take the place of the exercise, but it will be a lot of work for the doctor, if it's done in that way!
23. (Q) Is driving a car harmful? (A) DECIDEDLY SO! DON'T DRIVE A CAR!
24. (Q) What should be done for heartburn and indigestion? (A) Haven't we just given those properties to take internally, which are to purify the blood stream of the sources of infection, as well as for those activities as related to the assimilations? These should clear this entirely.
25. (Q) What causes the weakness of my eyes? (A) The very nature of the character of infection is a
3120-1 Page 4
drain on the eyes. But these should be helped materially by the osteopathic corrections, as well as the use of the douches.
26. (Q) Can this be remedied so I won't have to wear glasses? (A) Let's get through with this other condition! You may not need glasses, my dear! Do these things and be consistent, and we will bring the better forces and influences for all concerned.
