Time of Reading 4:00 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Mich.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here.

3. As we find, conditions are very well understood with this body. The applications are good; save we would not use the sinusoidal as the electrotherapy treatment, but rather the heat wave - or the diathermy, and this not too heavy.

4. Also we would massage the spine with an equal combination of Olive Oil and Peanut Oil. These used also on the limbs would be most helpful for the body.

5. These we would do.

6. Ready for questions.

7. (Q) What bearing does the reflex action of muscles of affected parts have upon the potential voluntary action of these muscles - as the extensors of knees and feet? (A) These as we find are reflexes that are a part of the control through the necessary changes that should be wrought by the massage with the oils along the spine. While the mechanical treatments that have been administered should be kept, the oils should be added.

8. (Q) What is the condition of the spinal cord? (A) As indicated from the suggestions, this is very well understood. It is very good, though these reflexes are of course hindered.

9. (Q) How can the involuntary action of the bladder and bowels be controlled? (A) By those centers from which these are reflexed, in the spinal system being brought better to coordination. Even the rubbing with the oils will aid in this direction. The application of Glyco-Thymoline Packs on bowel and over

bladder area or at the pubic center, will also aid in relieving these tensions; thus aiding the body to gain control.

10. (Q) Is there any manner in which to improve walking with the braces and crutches? (A) Not as yet - not until there is more stamina, or conditions are better controlled through the spine and the nerve forces.

11. (Q) Are any of the nerves damaged so that regeneration is not probable? (A) As we find, only nerve ends are damaged. And these with the proper massage, especially with properties indicated, will be aided. Also the low electrical forces should be beneficial.

12. (Q) Will the sensory nerves improve with the improvement of motor nerves? How can this be best brought about? (A) These should improve. Do as indicated for better conditions; though these will depend much of course upon responses in the mental forces of the body.

13. We are through with this reading. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (10/4/43 GD's note: See directions [which were enclosed] for preparing Glyco-Thymoline Packs.)
