Time of Reading 3:35 to 3:45 P. M. Eastern War Time. ..., New York.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3277].
3. Unless there are changes very soon, the course is nearly run.
4. As we find, there are serious disturbances with this body. These have gradually grown to be more and more complications. The high blood pressure, by so long standing, has caused not only the breaking of cellular - force that has produced a static condition or paralysis in portions of the body - but also it has caused the heart itself to become involved in a functional and - indirectly - an organic disturbance.
5. If the sources of these conditions will be relieved, we may find the periods of activity extended. But to sufficiently or fully regain the health and virility will require quite a long period, if at all; dependent upon the uses to which the body may put its abilities and the manner of following those suggestions that may be made to add to the length of days and the abilities of the body to become active in a definite, purposeful life.
6. We find first the blood supply very thoroughly deteriorated by the poisons produced, by toxic conditions from poor eliminations. The sources of this, as from those first causing the blood pressure, arise from a colon condition; there being plethora in the ascending colon and prolapsus in the lower portion of the colon. These have been the sources of the disturbance.
7. The taking of that which has caused the increasing of the heart stimulation has engorged the heart itself, and in this respect the heart condition has become organic. The use of
3277-1 Page 2
such stimuli has gradually lessened the ability of the system to reproduce sufficient nerve energies for the carrying on nominally of the circulation - in lungs, heart, liver and kidneys - or the deeper organic circulation. The thrombose area has become engorged. The liver has become torpid, especially in the central lobe or portion. These have left poor eliminations that have recently involved the activity of the kidneys, in the attempt to eliminate poisons left in a poor circulation. Hence these, too, give a great deal of trouble, through the condition produced in portions of the body as related to bladder and its activity in caring for the secretions that have been increased through the activity of the kidneys.
8. This causes the tautness, the soreness in the joints, especially of the extremities.
9. Then, in adding that which might aid:
10. We would first begin with the use of hydrotherapy treatments. While it will not be possible to give a great deal of activity that would cause the superficial circulation to discharge many of the poisons, this might be accomplished by using only the Fume Baths, followed by the massage and thorough rubdown afterward with oils.
11. These as we find would be the channels through which there might be produced better experiences for the body.
12. In the first series, then, have such a treatment once each week for six weeks. These should include the Fume Bath, and especially the massage. If colonic irrigations are given once every ten days in the beginning it would be better; but these should only be given by one skilled in giving such, who will watch the reaction and take proper precautions.
13. If the massage would be given daily, it would be well, or two or three times a week, for it would allow the body-physical to rest much more, and rest is that needed for the body forces. For such massages we would use a combination of these oils: Olive Oil...........................2 ounces, Peanut Oil..........................2 ounces, Lanolin (liquefied).................1 teaspoonful.
14. For the dizziness and the inability for controlling the body, we would apply Glyco-Thymoline Packs (warm) at the base of the brain, extending down very close to that area between the shoulders, apply these with heat, all the body will absorb, using three to four thicknesses of flannel saturated with the Glyco-Thymoline.
15. Do take the time to use these - that may be given by
3277-1 Page 3
those closely associated with the body, and take the time to make the adjustments mechanically to improve the general condition of this body.
16. These then, we would do. The hydrotherapy, with the activities indicated will bring the possibility for better conditions with this body.
17. Ready for questions.
18. (Q) Should I continue not trying to walk, or will my leg become too stiff from dis-use? (A) We would keep trying, though not so much as to take chances when there are the possibilities of the entity taking cold even in this character of exercise. But the more exercise with the oil rubs, the better - and especially after the Mechano-Therapy or osteopathic treatments are given to the body each week.
19. (Q) Is it possible to get back the use of my leg and arm? (A) As just indicated this is dependent entirely upon the mental and spiritual attitude of the body, and as to how consistently it will take those suggestions indicated.
20. (Q) Should I continue to take twice daily after meals the doctor's prescription for blood pressure - a combination of digitalis, nitroglycerine, nitrate of soda, plus a couple more? (A) These as we find should NOT be continued if these other things suggested here are to be given. While these will be slow, they will get at the basis or seat of the trouble.
21. (Q) May I become again a useful citizen, or am I to exist a helpless cripple to the end of my days? (A) As indicated it may be possible, depending upon the sincerity, the affability and the keeping of the oneness of purpose in the mind of the body.
22. We are through with this reading. Two copies to Self - (one for the physiotherapist) Copy to Ass'n file " " Miss Goodall for indexing (10/10/43 GD's notes to [3277]: We would refer you to Dr. H. J. Reilly, R.C.A. Building, 1250 Sixth Ave., N.Y.C. Under separate cover we are sending an article written by Dr. Reilly concerning his experience with the Readings which may be of interest to you.
