This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 28th day of December, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [3573], new Associate Member of the Ass''n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Miss Esther Wynne.

R E A D I N G

Born September 28, 1915, at 7:00 P. M., in Chicago, Ill. Time of Reading 10:55 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Virginia.

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [3573].

3. In analyzing the activities of the entity in the earth and those records as we find, we choose from these with the desire and purpose that this information may be a helpful experience for the entity.

4. But here with this entity it would be much better if it would think along the mental and spiritual lines. For the experience in the present sojourn has been the result of activities in other sojourns, where there is the need to do the first things first: "Seek the Lord while He may be found."

5. And when there is the trust, the purpose, the hope put in Him and in His ways, we find that the innate influence in the entity of being dramatic, melodramatic, moping over things for which it might condemn others (and condemns self more in the end), should come to be expressed only in passing experiences - or these should become only as passing experiences. For these dramatic experiences can or cannot influence the entity as to cause the entity to lose its hold on the real life innate and manifested through the Christ-Consciousness.

6. Then, in choosing these urges from the records here, we would minimize the faults and we would magnify the virtues.

7. Here is an entity that should NEVER have married, until at least it was thirty-nine years old! It should have made a career for itself upon the stage, as a dramatic actress!

8. Cutting this out from self, you've had it in your own life - and it will be in thy life until there are those changes that can come only in self being lost wholly in Him and in His purposes, as to doing for others. Not what others should do for self, but what self should do for others!

9. In interpreting the records here, then, we find Mars, Venus, Jupiter and Uranus as a part of the experience.

10. Mars - anger, activity. The entity will ever be busy, with its hands, with its mind. And these need, then, more direction not in material things but in spiritual.

11. In Venus we find that the entity passes through those experiences of beauty, art; yet these oft take the turns for material expressions - and these the entity tends to embrace. Let them rather be lost in His purposes. Let love be without dissimulation, and not so much centralized in individuals or personalities, nor in self. Love is universal, as God. Crystallized it is beautiful, but minimized in selfishness or spread abroad in the aggrandizement of self becomes those stumblingblocks over which many tumble into restlessness for gratification, for activities to satisfy self.

12. We find in Uranus the extremes. Do not mope over these. Look not back upon things that were. Let the heart be turned to righteousness in Him, and it will bring into the experience those things that make life worth while.

13. As to sojourns in the earth, we find that these have been quite varied. From these one may find much upon which to meditate. But these should be rather as symbols, warnings, guides. For there is no urge that surpasses the will of the entity. God hath not willed that any should perish, or even be tempted beyond that it is able to bear. Whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth and purgeth every one, that they may bear more fruit in Him.

14. Then, be not overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good. Keep the faith in self; not thinking more highly of self than ye ought, but know that in the power of His might ALL things are possible. But it needs be that self LIVE in self that it would ask of others, and that it ask not of others that it would not do in itself. Expect not of others more than ye would have others expect of thee.

15. Before this the entity was in the land of the present nativity, during those periods when turmoils were beginning when there grew those divisions in which brother became

pitted against brother, when families and homes were divided over a cause - as to whether certain peoples should be free or remain as chattels.

16. The entity took particular pains to express self, and brought into the experience those extremes in which it even finds itself in the present - though under another guise. For the entity was very much opposed to freeing anyone, rather attempting by its own might and word to remain in that position which circumstance had placed the individual entity.

17. The name then was Charlotte Cowan. The entity was especially active in the country just across from that in which divisions arose in which there were the attempts of those states to remain neutral.

18. Those experiences brought disturbances, hates and jealousies that are still innate. These may be cleansed only by that means in which man in his relationship even to the Creative Forces was freed from the bonds of death, sin, yea even from willfulness in the individual.

19. So again may the entity in the present find that by its own purpose, by its own activities, it may right about and face and trust in Him, who is the way and the truth and the light.

20. Before that the entity was in the English land during those turmoils that arose between Church and State, when those peoples were against the authority of a king. These were portions of the entity's experience, yet the entity refrained from expression in such activities - and felt it was in circumstances from which it could not extricate itself, for its people and its home were broken through the activities in the divisions that arose.

21. The entity felt sorry for itself, yea belittled self by not giving expressions - and went to the extreme in the next; hence finds self in the present as between both extremes.

22. Then the name was Margaret McDowell. The entity gained and lost; gained in keeping to self and yet lost in becoming extreme in such measures that it began to be dramatic in order that others might feel sorry for the entity also.

23. Before that the entity was in the Holy Land during those periods when the peoples were returning from bondage in the Chaldean land.

24. The entity was among the very small children, born in the Chaldean land but entering into activity in the City when there had been again the reestablishing of the temple as well as the walls thereof.

25. While disputations arose between those in authority, as

of Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Ezra and Nehemiah, the entity gained much from all of these - for it used the experiences of each in their zealousness or in their attempt to embrace all to apply in rectifying disturbances that arose.

26. Thus the entity came to be among those that were helpers to those set in authority through the activities in the reestablishing of the service there. These brought hope, help, peace - as they may in the present, in returning to those directions of the law of divine origin, the unchangeable laws in hope, peace, brotherly love, grace, mercy, patience, kindness. Against such there is no law, for they are the law. And as ye embrace or apply these ye become the law - in such.

27. The name then was Esdrella.

28. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land during those periods when there were the activities following the demise of the Priest, Ra-Ta, when there was the establishing of homes and when there was the setting about of the household activities.

29. The entity was among those opposed to such, holding that there should still be the activities of the State in relationship to the religious as well as the penal and the moral laws. This brought periods of anxiety, yet the eventual activity brought comfort - when there was the establishing of the home and what may be called the fireside, or children and home.

30. Then the name was Betha-Old.

31. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, that to which it may attain, and how:

32. The entity, as indicated here, should have had a period of self-expression. Now, find in self that in which ye may unify thy purpose with the universal of the Christ-purpose in life. Glorify Him and ye will honor self.

33. Build the home and ye will find peace, glory and honor therein.

35. (Q) For what special work did I come into this experience and how may I accomplish this? (A) To be a dramatic artist!

36. (Q) For what experience did I marry my first husband, [...]? (A) A very bad one, as ye have experienced.

37. (Q) He now against my will has at his home our daughter, [...]. Would it not be best for her to live with me? If so, how can I accomplish this, since he has broken all promises to return her? (A) So live that you will be justified in asking that ye be allowed to give her the opportunity to express that needed

in her life. For she was your sister in the experience before this - you never got together. Will you in this? You can, through the one source or manner. Will you?

38. (Q) In what way can I be of the greatest help to my present husband [...]? (A) So live as to magnify and complement him in a service to the Creative Forces, God.

39. (Q) In what experiences have I known him and what was our relationship? (A) In Egypt, where you eventually builded peace and a happy home.

40. (Q) My husband and I have the opportunity to move to Savannah, Ga. Would it be best for us financially and otherwise? (A) Financially, yes. Spiritually - this would depend upon what are set as the purposes and ideals.

41. (Q) In what former experiences and relationship was I associated with my other daughter, [...]? (A) In the experience before this. No other, save as friends in the Holy Land and acquaintances in England but not antagonists.

42. (Q) How may the antagonism that seems to exist between us be overcome? (A) In Him. Only in Him.

43. (Q) For what reason did I come to my mother, [...], since she gave me away when I was 10 days old? (A) In the past experiences, if ye will analyze these ye will see, ye came for the expression, for an opportunity. Meet those opportunities in the present.

44. (Q) What is my seal? (A) Best not given in the present. Make one in the present.

45. (Q) To what colors and jewelry do I vibrate? (A) These ye make for yourself. Gold, of course, as in the yellow gold, makes for the better vibrations for and about the body.

46. (Q) Is it probable that I will inherit the property which has been promised to me of Mrs. [...] the sister of my foster mother? (A) If ye deserve it, yes. Will it be used to the glory of God or of man?
