Time of Reading 10:55 to 11:10 A. M. Eastern War Time. ..., New York.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3607].
3. As we find, there are disturbances preventing the better physical functioning of the body. These are disturbances which if allowed to remain will gradually become rather constitutional, and of such natures that many of the organs may become involved - and eventually the body would have to learn to enjoy poor health, for there would be such disturbances as to cause disorders of that character.
4. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body:
5. In the blood supply we find variations at times. There is the lack of proper assimilation. Thus the gastric flows at times are such that little or no digestion takes place in the upper portion of the stomach, or in the pyloric portion. For it empties so easily that foods are caused to ferment in the duodenum and through the jejunum, and it often causes a colon disorder. This, of course, is because of the blood supply but is produced by the lack of proper gastric flow, on account of the position of the stomach itself and the conditions that come to pass owing to its position and the emptying of same. Thus the body becomes rather erratic in its appetite.
6. There is an impoverishment at some times in red blood, again in leukocytes, again in the plasm that would cause coagulation properly in body.
7. All of these naturally make a great nerve strain or drain on system. It makes the body feel at times very tired, with a heaviness across the lower portion of the kidneys and the hip area, the limbs, the knees, the feet at times grow tired

and heavy. These are results of the disturbances.
8. In the nervous system these strains or pressures naturally arise from lack of proper coordination, lack of setting up of the proper conditions. The tipping or the easy draining of stomach is from the lack of muscular contraction in the 6th and 7th dorsal area, as well as in the 3rd cervical and in the 4th and 5th dorsal.
9. Then, in making administrations for the body:
10. First, we would begin having osteopathically (or here chiropractically would be well, provided some massage is given and not too sudden, but preferably good osteopathic corrections) of the subluxations existent in the 5th and 6th dorsal or 6th and 7th dorsal, or from the 7th dorsal to the 3rd cervical especially. All would not be corrected at once, but gradually relax and then attempt corrections, so that there is no trouble in pressures of segments on the activity of those coordinating centers in these ganglia with the sympathetic nervous system.
11. After at least one or two of these are given, use an elastic belt to support the abdomen and the stomach itself. Or still more preferable, though it would be much more trouble to use, bind heavy gauze about the body. This would necessarily be done daily, and that it be taken off when the treatments of the osteopath are given.
12. Do have at least sixteen osteopathic corrections and adjustments.
13. We would also prepare a compound to aid in correcting those disturbances through the colon: Simple Syrup (not compound, but Simple Syrup)....1 1/2 ounces, Elixir of Lactated Pepsin................1/2 ounce, Essence of Ginger........................1/4 ounce, Essence of Wild Ginseng................1 1/2 ounces.
14. The dose of this, for this body would be one-half teaspoonful each day except Sundays.
15. The Fusion or Essence of Wild Ginseng would be prepared in this manner (to be used in the above compound): Put one-half ounce of Wild Ginseng in a pint of distilled water, and let it stand for eight hours - in a glass container. Bring the Wild Ginseng and then pour the boiling water over it. Strain off and add sufficient alcohol as a preservative.
16. The Essence of Wild Ginger would be prepared in the same manner, using a quarter ounce of Wild Ginger (ground or beat up) in an ounce of distilled water.
17. These would be used as stock solutions.

18. Do these and we will get rid of these headaches, the sour stomach, and - if these corrections are made - gradually the body will absorb or use or supply sufficient of the digestive fluids that the digestion will be better.
19. In the diet keep away from chocolate candies, keep away from any carbonated waters. Do not eat white potatoes. Do use a great deal of raw vegetables. Not too much of soups, though vegetable soups with quantities of vegetables in same will be very well - but these should be thick. Fish, fowl and lamb may be taken. Coffee or tea may be taken, but do not use milk or cream in either of these. Do not use citrus fruits and cereals at the same meal.
20. Do these and we will correct these conditions. It is not necessary to change the climate or the environs, if these are done consistently and persistently.
21. Ready for questions.
22. (Q) What can be done for my eyes? (A) Do these things and we will get rid of this acid throughout the system and relieve the stress upon the kidneys, which will help the eyes. Eat lots of carrots, raw and cooked.
23. (Q) What is the spot on my right side above the hip? What (will this treatment) will correct it? (A) This should not cause a great deal of anxiety. This is as a centralization of a center there. This treatment should correct it.
24. (Q) Would some other kind of work, or work in a different library, be a help to my nerves and general health? (A) Not necessarily.
25. We are through with this reading. Two copies to Self (one for the osteopath - Please let us have the name of the one you choose.) Copy to Ass'n file (See extra sheet of directions [which was enclosed] to be sent to Mr. T. R. Wirsing, 1001 Third St., Roanoke, Va., who can make up this compound for you, in case you are not able to obtain it locally.)
