1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Emancipation day!
3. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [3636].
4. In giving an interpretation of the records, there is much here from which to choose. There is counsel the entity might do well to listen to, and yet there's a large question mark as to whether he will or not. Much will depend upon the attitude of his mate respecting same, and as to choices that he will make respecting the course to pursue. Here we find an entity with many abilities, in anyone of which he may succeed - physically, especially; mentally and spiritually, possibly.
5. These, then, are to be choices, in which the entity must draw on its own self and its own ideals. For the entity will succeed, unless other accidents happen materially. If the ability is used as the politician, you will see him one day as an alderman of the city of Chicago. If the ability is used as the merchant, you will find him among those whose names will be in lights - as one exceeding or succeeding those who have been almost as national and international figures. If there is the choice in letters, make it law. You could do better in the pulpit, but you would never be sincere. In law you could do as you choose and get by with
3636-1 Page 2
it. But all depends upon whether the desire is for material success, mental success, or mental and spiritual success. They are not the same. They can be coordinated. The abilities are there in the entity.
6. Then, analyzing as to how, where, and through what channels these urges arise, we find these in Mercury, Mars and Mercury, Venus and Jupiter, with Saturn and Uranus. These bring then, as it were, an overburdening of helpful forces at times, meaning when the entity with its suave manner has made itself as a popular figure in whatever choice of activities it chooses.
7. Politics, commerce, or law - these three phases are parts of the entity's activity, as would be in Mercury with Mars, Mercury with Venus, or Jupiter with Uranus. These astrologically could tend to make greater influences in whatever the entity chooses to direct itself. For it will succeed, come what will or may, but don't think that you can ride two horses ever, at once - you can't!
8. Then don't try to be the politician and the merchant. Don't try to be the lawyer and the politician. You can't! You would split your pants with this in the attempts to coordinate these in the manner in which the urge would be. Let it be politics alone or be the lawyer alone, or the merchant alone. This is indicated not only astrologically but from the urges latent through the appearances in the earth.
9. Before this the entity was in the land of the present nativity during the early settlings about what is now Toledo, and that area of Ohio.
10. There the entity was a merchant when there were the dealings with the natives, in skins, furs, and things of that nature.
11. Then name then was Donald Cain - later you added an "e" but it was to change for something else. In the experience the entity gained in material abilities.
12. To be a good mixer is derived from those experiences, though those activities indicated in Uranus make the entity at times rather inclined to be moody. So if it chooses to be the hale fellow well-met, fine. If it chooses to be the one who would "ride" those who would make the least slip, he can do it well! He would make a good lieutenant.
13. In the experience we find the entity adding to that necessary in material, mental, provided spiritual ideals are correct.
14. Before that the entity was in the Roman land through those periods when representatives were set in various lands to keep or to administer justice, and to act in the way of
3636-1 Page 3
interpreting the relationships of individuals with the Roman power.
15. Then the entity was among those in Thyatira, in the name Guleon.
16. In the experience the entity did well in the mental and material. In portions of the experience, toward the last, the entity added much by the choices as to its ideals in those periods of activity.
17. It would be well for the entity to hold to those ideals in the present that are a portion of the innate self; being good is well, being good for something is better; having the ideal and being good for the other fellow is still better. One may be good for self, but he's never very good as a companion for self, unless he's a good companion for others.
18. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land during those periods when groups were set up for handling activities in various portions of the land under the various characters of groups.
19. The entity then was what might today be called a political emissary to keep the various groups working coordinatly to prevent disputations. This was done by kindness, not by anger or force or power, but rather by persuasiveness for the good of all.
20. And this adds to the ability as a politician, if the entity would choose to stay in same.
21. The name then was Ext-aner.
22. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, as indicated - the entity may take one of three directions. But first, in whichever activity is chosen, set an ideal - spiritually and mentally - and don't depart from it. These activities may be carried in those directions applying to the commercial world, to law or to politics, but do not try to ride two horses at once - they will not carry well for thee.
23. Ready for questions.
