1. EC: Now, in this body there are many abnormal conditions, and they arise from psychological, pathological conditions in the system, and affect the various portions of the body according to their cycle. Hence we find the various changes that are apparent in the physical forces.
2. Now, these are the conditions as we find them in this body, [3793] we are speaking of.
3. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, we find at the present time that shows the various changes, and effects, that have been produced in circulation, as the body has been accorded the various stages of the development in functioning of organs and of the effect of the various stages in elimination and assimilation as effected under pressure under the psychological conditions in the body from time to time. At the present we find this devitalized rather aenemitized. We find insufficient at times, yet overtaxing the body at others. In the elements in the constituents of the blood supply itself, we find little of the resistance in the hemoglobin portion of system. Hence insufficient number in red blood cells, and at times an excess of white blood supply. Hence the change as is shown in elimination, especially in the capillary circulation from time to time.
4. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, we find there are many centers that are involved in the conditions, though at present with the system in the present state many have become nil in their effectiveness of giving the vital forces necessary to carry their functioning properly in the system, for impingement of centers has caused distress in system. In times back there was an accident to this body which has never been corrected in whole. In this we find at the seventh, and eighth dorsal a pressure that produces much of the condition, also in the coccyx or the end of the spine. Both of these conditions have had and still have the effect upon the nerve system, and the relations of those plexus affected by these conditions in the functioning of the organs involved therefrom, as well as the reflexes that come from these in other portions of the organism. In the sympathetic system

we find better, though the psychological condition of the mental forces in connection with distresses in portions of the body receives its manifestations in the sensory system from the sympathetic system. Hence we often find conditions shifting, as it were, in those portions of the body coming under distress. Principally, we find these, however, with the kidneys' functioning in elimination and the stomach in its ability to digest through the proper way and manner.
5. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF ORGANS THEMSELVES, brain force very good for conditions, as is given.
6. In the functioning of the organs of the sensory system, all involved in conditions.
7. In the lungs, larynx and bronchials very good, though at times conditions make the body easily susceptible to congestion, and we have the difficulty through these organs' functioning, though organically very good.
8. Heart action under the strain, as given, in a submerged circulation.
9. Digestive tract sympathetically, and through the hypogastric and pneumogastric centers both of nerve plexus and of circulation plexus, gives the fullness or the inability for the functioning of the digestive organ proper.
10. Liver and hepatic circulation subnormal in functioning. Strain upon the hepatic circulation gives distress and pain at times to the left side and toward the kidney, though not organically deranged; the functioning of the organ deranged and engorged.
11. In the action then to bring the better elements to this body will be through many various ways of reaching the condition. We would first massage into the centers about the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth dorsal, the sacral and coccyx plexuses, those properties in Balsam of Sulphur [See note at end of this reading]. This should be done at least every other day. Cleanse the body well with rough cloths before and after this is massaged in the system, taking in the system during this same time, or period, as these massages are given, these properties. To one gallon of rain water, add: Wild Cherry Bark...........4 ounces, Sarsaparilla Root..........2 ounces, Yellow Dock Root...........2 ounces, Black Root.................2 ounces, Yellow Root................2 ounces.
12. Reduce by simmering (not boiling) to one quart. Strain while warm. Add one dram of Balsam of Tolu cut in three ounces of grain alcohol.

13. The dose would be two teaspoonfuls twice each day before meals, and when ready for rest or retiring. Keep these properties, massaging the rest of the system gently to conform with the properties massaged into the specific positions and places in the spinal system.
14. We will find we will bring the better according of conditions in this body.
15. Do that. (Balsam of sulfur is a combination of equal parts of linseed oil and sulfur. This liniment was recommended about 35 times in the readings, often for cases of paralysis, impaired locomotion resulting from arthritis, misplaced vertebrae, etc. Two different types of treatments were recommended. The most commonly suggested treatment was to massage about 1 handful of the Balsam over the cerebrospinal system. The other treatment was to massage the Balsam over the lymph gland areas, including armpits, neck, abdomen, and groin. The body absorbs the properties in the Balsam, whichever treatment is used, and, as with other massage lotions, only the amount which the body will absorb should be used. A few minutes after the massage the body should be washed off with a weak solution of baking soda, made in the proportions of 1 teaspoonful to 1 gallon of water. The readings suggested a Balsam massage 3-4 times per week or every other day, and often recommended it be given before or after a spinal adjustment.)
