Time of Reading Kelly's Ford, 5:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Culpepper Co., Va.
1. GC: You will have before you the region known as Kelly's Ford in Culpepper Co., Va., the treasure which is buried there and the work done in attempting to locate this treasure by A. C. Preston, Dr. Snyder and son, H. L. Cayce and Gray Salter. Please direct them as to the next definite steps to take in locating this treasure, giving the reasons for the failure so far. You will answer the questions which will be asked regarding same.
2. EC: Yes, we have the location, the operations, the individuals. In the region - as has been indicated by the operations - as we find, the reason, they haven't dug in the right place! While these have extended in a part over the areas as has been indicated, both by the information and by the indicator. Where the light shone, and in the area where the pit - as was in the placing of same in the logs, or between the logs - trees have grown in the present, and this naturally has altered the grounds, and the changes - but just keep on working there - we would find we would locate it - there's no cause from individuals or those that prevent same from other sources, but we would keep the operations until the locations were made. Follow with each day's operations those indications with the indicator, and follow those until they are exposed - all those metals and conditions that cause the vibrations to be altered, see?
3. As we find, the indications will be best found when those of the logs and stones that covered - and about the moneys themselves, see - are exposed. Go INTO them! Loose, burned stones - where fires were builded against same, and while these are in part pushed asunder, they still show the indications on same.
4. (Q) Is the hole in which we have found traces of ashes, broken dishes - (A) Follow the ashes, on that level - see? These extend towards the tree. They also extend towards the WALL - see?
5. (Q) Should we go toward the wall or toward the tree? (A) Go both, if it's indicated by the indicator!

6. (Q) Have we gone deep enough with this excavation? (A) In parts. Some of it is too deep - wasn't necessary, but we will find that we will follow these to that as has been given - just given, see?
7. (Q) In what direction should we proceed to dig into the location of the treasure, and can this be done best by digging in from the present hole or starting another hole? (A) Follow the line of the ashes! Can that be just by starting another, or continuing in the one that's there?
8. (Q) We have estimated that this region has filled in about three feet with the soft dirt since the time the treasure was placed there? Is this correct and how deep in the - (A) It's six and a half feet, you see, in the depth from the top - though in many places it will be found to fill more than this - see?
9. (Q) Is the bottom of the present hole over the treasure? and if so how deep must we go to reach it? (A) Follow the ashes! Where they dip, dip! following the indicator in each day's operations - see? or half day's operation would still be better.
10. (Q) Is the treasure located more to the East toward the top of the mound or to the North toward the side of the mound? (A) To the side of the mound. Follow that as indicated by the indicator and by the ash. Be found to run both ways, or it turns as it come in, as we find it.
11. (Q) Is it near any of the rocks which formed the mound or the foundation for the N. E. end of the old bridge? (A) As is indicated, it's BEHIND some rocks, see? those that are burned.
12. (Q) Is it behind the burned rocks that we have uncovered? (A) You haven't uncovered 'em yet, that have it - or they've been recovered if you have!
13. (Q) Was the excavation on top of the hill made in the right place? Should we go deeper or more in which direction and how deep from the top of the present surface? (A) Following the ash, on the level where it is indicated.
14. (Q) Haven't located any ashes on top of the hill. (A) Then dig in until you find them!
15. (Q) Should we go deeper? (A) Follow the indicator.
16. (Q) Are they using the indicator correctly? (A) Using correctly.
17. (Q) Please describe the burying of the treasure at the time it was buried. (A) As we find, this the indications: These the conditions as surrounded when L. N. [or Ellen (?)] George, the

paymaster here, received the money in gold and in silver. There was more than a washing tub full, and the preparations were to pay off, and they were in the tent - or the keeper here on the side of the hill, that came from the bridge that used to cross over same - when they were attacked in the early morning - the fires were all burning for the preparations for the meals - they were attacked from the south by the Confederate forces, and this was hurriedly dug by the side of those rocks in which the camp fires, or the foods were being prepared for that particular portion of the tent, see? of the camp - paymaster's - when it was hurriedly dumped in. Afterwards George and those associated with him - one was first taken prisoner, others were killed as they fled northward and toward the east - see? Whole washing tub full. Others, you see, were scattered in other places - these were of much smaller denominations.
