1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3844]. Now, we find the body-physical very good in many respects. There are, however, those conditions that give some distress to the body. These conditions are of rather the specific than the general nature, and have to do principally with the eliminations of the body - though the effect is specific in its reaction, for when there are those reactions in the eliminations, such as to cause infection through non-elimination, these produce in the system destructive forces that, finding lodgement in any place in the system - or in the soft tissue of the glands, or in the tissue in throat, or in the mouth, or the like - we find these bring the destructive tissue. This, as is seen here with this body, comes rather from the character of the condition existent in the stomach - though the effect and infection causes distress in the tissue of the head, face, and throat. These are, in reality, those thrown OFF in other portions of system and not eliminated properly in the body.
2. In the blood forces of the body, these are very good. As is seen, the general nerve system is very good - though the mental forces of the body have been taxed through mental strain, and the stress at the present time causes mental worry. The condition SHOULD be relieved easily at this time, and there should be little disturbance with the removal of that causing the trouble. We would NOT, under the present conditions, operate to remove tissue, tonsil, or any of those secretions that form obstructions in the nasal cavities at present. While these would prove detrimental to the tissue, as reflects in the sensory system, were they allowed to go on without assisting nature in its reactions; yet the proper operation would be rather to ASSIST nature in warding off, throwing off, absorbing and draining, and the SYSTEM eliminating same, than FORCING an issue where destructive forces would be effective in the body.
3. We would, then, through the proper manipulations in the
3844-1 Page 2
head, neck, shoulders, body, remove the distressed condition, setting up eliminations more properly in the system; at the same time taking a cathartic that will more nearly equalize the gastric juices of the system; setting more of an alkalin condition in the system; cauterizing those tissues that are causing distress by the use of an antiseptic that would overcharge same to the extent as to throw off that tissue as causes the distress; applying with same those of the exercise and of those rays that will bring relaxation to nervous system and to the whole body. This would be more effective in that nearer the heat and sun rays. That we would do. Ready for questions.
4. (Q) Is an operation necessary at all? (A) Will the body respond to these applications, or will the body CARRY THESE OUT as given - it will be found that it will NOT be necessary at all; unless re-infection setting in from some other cause or condition.
5. (Q) What can be done to stop coughing? (A) When the irritation that is produced in the throat, and at the upper portion of epiglottis, is removed - we will find this will be reduced. The use of the antiseptics will allay that tickling sensation that occurs in throat and bronchial, as well as the alleviating of the pressure in the upper dorsal and all of the cervical region.
6. (Q) What antiseptic would be best? (A) That that is alkalin in its reaction. Dependent upon the character of the caustics, or the searing as it done for the throat. That would depend upon whether it would be done with one using the stronger or with the lighter solutions, but this we would do under the supervision of a physician - see? These may be used with the gases, or the compressed air that blows this antiseptic into the throat; but the MANIPULATIONS should be carried out.
7. (Q) What cathartic would be best for this body? (A) One that carries more of that that will equalize the condition. We would begin with this, first: Half a teaspoonful of Fletcher's Castoria, taken every half an hour, until nine hundred - yes fourteen hundred - drops have been taken, and when the body responds - then we would begin with the alkalin Petrolagar. The diet should be those that will maintain the strength and vitality, but that does not carry too much of any condiments.
8. (Q) Should the manipulations be given osteopathically? (A) Well that the whole operation be given osteopathically - that is, the cleansing and the cauterization would be
3844-1 Page 3
BETTER under the supervision of an osteopathic surgeon, that would give the manipulations WITH same - see?
9. (Q) Would this ailment have any bearing on body's nose? (A) To be sure! That's a PORTION of the condition!
10. (Q) How often should he be treated osteopathically? (A) To relieve the conditions, as we find, there should be at least a cleansing (osteopathically, now) of the passages of throat, in nose, every day - for at least eight or nine days, and every day a portion of the manipulation given. The ADJUSTMENTS, osteopathically, should not be oftener than every OTHER day. This condition should clear up in ten to twelve days, to near normal. Begin immediately, of course, with the cleansing of the alimentary canal, and the building up of the blood supply, that will build more of the tissue that is NECESSARY for resuscitation of the forces that will be drained off.
11. (Q) Any special food or diet, other than that given? (A) Nothing special - just beware of condiments while these applications or treatments are being given, for these tend to stimulate the tissue - producing forces in body, or the lymph - see?
