1. LBC: You have before you Mr. [3913], of West Philadelphia, Pa. Go over him carefully, examine him thoroughly, and tell us what is the matter with him, if anything.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. He is suffering from uremic poison. It is in the circulation of the body, and especially to the lower limbs, and to the pelvis. You see, the body here, [3913], at times back has suffered from a strain at the second lumbar. The muscular forces at this vertebra have been wrenched, and has produced a lowness of the cartilaginous forces between the two, until we bring to bear on to the nerve supplies to the lower extremities here, and to the reflexes to those of the kidneys, a strain or filling up of the muscular walls of these, until we effect the organs themselves. That is, the kidneys, in the discharge of their duties to the body, in eliminating the secretions of the poisonous matters from the system, left there by the circulation, through the hepatics. As these begin to form, we have a lesion formed there, begun at first. As these begin to form into the system, with not the elimination of this, it forms a backing into the system of matter which should be eliminated. That goes into the circulation, and we impair the building properties of the circulation in itself, until in its nature to restore itself here, it forms then the condition we have in the system.
3. It affects the nerves and muscles of the pelvis, through the branch end; the cerebrospinal nerve center forces; those of the sympathetics, through the celium plexus; those of the sciatics, along each side of the limb; those of the genatory system through the front part of the body, through the testicles themselves; those through the parts of the organ and the opposite pole, through the digestion and liver, from the reflex pains we have. The general condition of the system becomes impaired. We have the general debility in the whole body, hence the color we have of the body itself, as to the capillaries you see. Low capillary circulation. The non-elimination of these secreting organs, the blood in these, effect, of course, the pulmontories [pulmonaries?], that is the lungs, through the discharge or what they throw

off, or the amount of hytrogenious gas thrown off by them.
4. To relieve the troubles we have in this body, first remove the lesions here in the pelvis at the second lumbar, by manipulation of the spinal column itself, straining these into the correct conditions, as should be; by local applications to remove the inflammation afterwards, or warm applications; into the system, that of matters which help to eliminate these poisons from the system, or that of spirits of frumenti, in connection with syrup of sarsaparilla.
5. (Q) Any other treatment you would suggest? (A) The spirits of frumenti and syrup of sarsaparilla; litheoid, or that in form of toris compound. That acts on the blood and the secretions of the properties themselves. Exercise of the limbs - the lower extremities here, as much as possible, else we will have a form of locomotory ataxia.
6. (Q) Any other treatment? (A) This will do now. Follow it along as it removes the conditions. If we have inflammation set up from the condition it produces, of course it will have to be treated for those conditions there.
