1. FEM: Now, Mr. Cayce, you are going to sleep. (Pause) Now, Mr. Cayce, you are asleep and all of the organs of your body will function properly. You will hear me and answer all of my questions as to the best of your ability. I want you tonight, Mr. Cayce, to tell me what minerals do you find under the lands of [3940], in ..., Alabama, Section 6, 7, and 12, Township 17, Range 2 East, approximately one-fourth of a mile West of Brompton Station on the Southern Railway, and tract No. 5 East of Brompton Station. Do you find oil-bearing sands, and what thickness are they, are to what degree are they saturated with oil? Is it paraffine or asphalt base? What is the extent of the area of the pool, and how far beneath the surface of the ground? By what surface marks may I know the best place to start drilling for oil, and what are the principal difficulties with which we will have to encounter while drilling? Will there be a gusher? How long should we expect oil in this field to be productive? Also, do you find any diamonds on or under this land of [3940], in St. Clair County, Alabama. Describe the qualities and the curative powers of the springs on this land. You now have the proposition before you.
2. EC: Now, we have on these lands and those that are adjacent to those, many various kinds of minerals. They are of various quantities and of depth. Their effect on the waters show very readily, the condition that must have existed at times back and of existing conditions as at present. There is within this district that of a pool of oil, though not all, of course, lies within the bounds of this as given here, for it extends toward the south and west from the first tracts here in [Township] 17, you see?
FEM: Yes, sir.
3. That is, township. These of minerals are shown more to the north and east outline of the upheaval, as is shown here, which are reminiscent of the lower Palezoic age, while those coming in the region of the oil-bearing are of the lower Cretaceous and upper Paleozoic, while with the upheavals there has been gaps or outlets in which much of

the sedimentary holding or containing oil bearing matter has allowed through the ages to escape; with the surroundings it has only escaped to the lower levels, and by the waters that have come in from the south and east, has pushed back much of that of value for as the oil-bearing sands are concerned. The specific place we would find the most easily of access to the pool lies south by east from the town here, you see.
FEM: Yes, sir.
4. Five-eights mile. Here we would find first, the showing of sand and earth, and then shale and shale and shale, and water, and lime, and shale, and lime and shale, to - sixteen to eighteen hundred feet, where we would find the sands that would bear the oil, from fifty to one hundred and fifty feet. See?
FEM: Yes, sir.
5. That is, the sands would be of this -
6. (Q) Of that thickness? (A) The production. In this would be from three to four hundred barrels of oil per day, the base being of the higher gravity, or forty-four gravity oil. The production would last from two to three years, if properly handled, and give almost the same amounts as that. See?
FEM: Yes, sir.
Four hundred to three hundred during the whole period. While gas would be encountered which might be used for fuel, yet to raise the production itself it would not be of a lasting or of a sufficient - because they will be found in different stratums when operations - cavings, the shales, you see?
FEM: Yes, sir.
And sands are to be watched after. Those are the troublesome things to be encountered, as well as the water that will be encountered in same. See?
FEM: Yes, sir.
The waters, we find in other parts of these lands of the curative powers, have basis, or the medicinal powers lies in the soluble iron and magnesia and sulphur in this, as a body. See?

FEM: Yes, sir.
It is a direct active principle to the human system, for as blood and intestinal disorders are concerned. As for the diamonds as to be found in this, save at a great depth, which is to be found rather to the north and east still on this in the gulch rather, you see.
FEM: Yes, sir.
Above the springs, not sufficient, save after other developments had gone forward. The specific spot where the oil would be drilled for is at present marked by a stump burned on the side, and is on the edge to the south and east of the dome encountered here, about eighty-nine hundred (8,900) barleycorns from the water's edge here on the little spring that is here at present, you see.
FEM: Yes, sir.
Up the side of the hill here. We are through.
7. Now, Mr. Cayce, you will forget all about the reading you have given. You are feeling all right, and all of the organs of your body will function properly. You are feeling good. Now, wake up in two minutes feeling fine and all right and free from headaches.
