1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. We find there are specific conditions, the result of which cause disturbances in the physical functioning of the body. In the many combinations of conditions have we found the inability to cope with the various conditions produced, and these have caused troubles and consternation at times to those attempting to alleviate the conditions in the body; yet we would find, were the sources or the causes as bring about these conditions removed, many of the complications would be reduced and the physical functioning of the organism be brought nearer to that of a normal condition for the body.
3. In these various conditions, then, as we find as exist in the physical functioning of the body, [3987] we are speaking of, we find these as some of the existent conditions:
4. IN THE BLOOD STREAM, we find there is shown the effects of poisons as accumulate from time to time in the system, these producing disturbances in the capillary circulation, distraughtness to the white blood supply; as is seen, the easiness of congestion, cold, and of the effect from same as is produced on the tissue and lymphatic circulation, especially in nasal and bronchial channels and cavities. In the seat of this trouble, we find the greater portion is produced from specific conditions existent in the torso of the body, especially that of the colon proper, for in the present position and condition this allows the feces to react with the circulation. Hence portions of these conditions are re-absorbed in system, bringing distresses to the ileum plexus, also to the hepatic circulation. Hence we have a cold or low hepatic, inactivity of the liver resulting from same - distresses through the congestion in the digestive portions about the liver and pancreas, and resulting pressure, or a plethora condition, or a fullness
3987-1 Page 2
of blood supply coming to these portions, produces pressure on lungs through the diaphragm. These, then, as we see, are reflex conditions from a condition existent in the physical forces of the body, and through these sources as seen producing a combination, or a complication, of conditions in various portions of the system.
5. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, in this we find many centers are involved in the condition. With the continual weakening of those plexuses in the lower lumbar and the lower dorsal, we find that lesions form to draw, as it were, the portion of the body back to the normal condition. With this, then, there are disturbances in the equalization of nerve supply, as is thrown off through the lower end of the cerebrospinal nerve center, and a corresponding reaction to the digestive system, and with re-absorption brings complications. As again is seen in that of the 5th and 6th dorsal center, we find a lesion of a different form, producing in the secondary cardiac circulation this effect as is produced in lungs and bronchials - reflexly again. The combined reflex condition that disturbs the lower portion of lungs and the bronchials, and nasal cavities, again brings other complications - which, as we see, is as the undue reaction created in the system. Much is assisted by the activity and resistance as has been exercised by the body itself. Medicinal properties taken into the system have only been to allay, and not to cure or correct conditions, for, as is seen from the various conditions as have shown as exist in the circulatory system, in the nerve system, and how various portions of the body have been depressed, or repressed by the reaction of condition existent, many of the organs are thrown out of their normal reaction, or their normal functioning for the system. With this abnormal functioning, then, we find the resistance in the system becomes lessened by inactivity and by improper incentive for the functioning of the various portions of the system - for the whole system, in the body of the human, must function as a unit, rather than as a correlating condition, unless correlating brings about proper coordination.
6. To remove or to bring about the better conditions as may be seen for these forces, then, we would first rest the body as much as possible, while corrections are being made for the lesions as exist in the cerebrospinal system, through osteopathic adjustments and manipulation. While these are being made, the system must be kept cleansed, especially through the colon, and the assimilating in the digestive system corrected. We would find beneficial results would be received by the use of enemas to remove those portions of
3987-1 Page 3
conditions existent in colon, and by the taking in the system of those properties as would be found in the alkaline Petrolagar, to assist the assimilation throughout the upper intestinal tract - for these properties may be assimilated, as agar is seen in these properties to the extent that the viscera is OILED, as it were, or allows the normal secretions by the removal of pressure in the portion of the cerebrospinal centers that allows the proper incentive through nerve supply, aided by these properties in the system, give the better results.
7. As to food and diet, and activities of the system, these must be kept at a NOMINAL condition until these pressures are removed. As the pressure is removed in the dorsal, the lumbar, and upper dorsal, we will find the condition will also be relieved in the bronchials, larynx, and the lungs proper.
8. Take as an inhalant - which will act as a blood stimulant, a blood clarifier, and in the form of a cleanser for the condition - properties as would be found in this:
9. To four (4) ounces of pure grain alcohol, we would add: Eucalyptol......................20 minims, Benzol..........................10 minims, Benzosol.........................5 minims, Balsam of Fir...................10 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp............5 minims, Tincture of Tolu in solution....35 minims.
10. Keep in a container - glass container, with glass stopper - at least twice to three times the size of the quantity, see? Shake solution and inhale through nostrils, and through mouth, excluding air as much as possible. Should be inhaled whenever there is the rise of phlegm in throat, or coughing, or dryness is found in any of the nasal or throat channels or passages. This acts as a stimulant, also as a purifier for the conditions, and purifying the breath, see?
11. Follow these out. After all these have been followed, we will give the conditions necessary for the change.
12. At least twenty-six (26) of the osteopathic adjustments and manipulations should be taken. At least three (3) quantities of the Petrolagar should be taken. As for those of the enemas to cleanse the lower system, whenever the system is in need of same, apply same. The inhalant should be kept handy or ready, which will prevent cough, or congestion, or cold, and heal the membranes of these channels.
13. We are through for the present.
