R E A D I N G
Born March 26, 1902, in Norton, Virginia. Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Virginia.
1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: A new place in the cycle - Norton - not too bad.
3. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [4028].
4. In giving the interpretations, we find that there are many impulses, both from experiences of the entity in the earth and from the latent urges of activities in the entity's sojourns during the interims. These are very strong in their influence upon the entity, and yet there are times when the emotions are in advance - or are more active in the body than those urges latent in the natural resources of the entity.
5. We find that there are many aptitudes, there are many abilities.
6. Here is one entity who should write at least one book. It'll make a success! For the entity would be a good historian - anything that has to do with mind, memory. The entity should study any aspect of the mind, especially psychological problems. For these are a portion of the entity's experience through the latent urges from aspects of the interims in the environs of the earth, as well as the latent urges to the emotions of the body through sojourns in the earth.
7. Thus, we find these as active influences in the body:
4028-1 Page 2
8. One with a very high mental ability or the two consciousness.
9. The entity thinks a great deal deeper, or about whys and wherefores than would appear to many from outward activities.
10. Any activity dealing with statistics, figures, facts, are of special interest; yet these at times become very, very, disturbing to the body.
11. Thus we would find that those activities which are at times passing fancies - music - are a part of the consciousness of the entity, and the entity can be moved to tears or to making promises it knows deep within itself it cannot quite carry out. To the entity, then, music spans the distance to the sublime and also to the ridiculous. When it chooses - though the entity keeps itself through circumstance rather circumspect, or from fear of what people would say, closed in a great deal - the entity can, when once let loose, become a good clown at any period, and entertaining.
12. Thus the entity can use words to make the recording of that which might easily become a best seller.
13. The urges from Mercury we find in the mental abilities.
14. From Venus we find the affliction with Saturn; thus the twofold influence. Beauty of harmony, yes - and the rancor of confusion that might arise in the experience of the entity. But keep self attuned to the infinite, which is not latent within the entity, which has often caused the entity to go to the other extreme because of what might be said or being circumspect in its activities because of the looks of things. Dare oftener to be yourself, but let yourself be in accord with that which is of the spiritual import or prompting; as in the beauty of music, the rhythm even in mathematics, the rhythm even in the score in music and that which answers to the high emotions of affection, companionship, activities in the associations. Yet these must be kept in a balance that never causes the entity to condemn self or to condone or condemn others.
15. Do not condemn self, do not condemn others. Love that is of the spiritual nature, that is uplifting, should be the prompting activity of the entity. Thus as may be indicated in the present in the writing, the story of self's own life would become a best seller - and no one can tell it as well as the entity. Write, though, by self; that is, alone; withdrawing from others - as in spending a vacation; and the rest of the life may be spent with writing just a story, short story, when the entity would choose to do so to be of interest to others.

16. As to the appearances of the entity in the earth, the pattern is indicated. Before this the entity was in the land of the present nativity, among the early settlers in what is now Williamsburg, Jamestown.
17. Then the entity was among those of the Cash family - Florence Cash; among those who were the historians, the writers of the early activities when there were the first communications or papers prepared in this land and sent even abroad (not printed, but prepared) as to what was taking place in the colonies.
18. The entity gained in its associations with others; being disappointed only in its closest friend going abroad and not returning. These associations have been again in the present. They will return to the entity in this experience, provided there is kept that balance of purpose in self; not seeking out, but keep that prayer which has been. For all prayer is answered. Don't tell God how to answer it. Make thy wants known to Him. Live as if ye expected them to be answered. For He has given, "What ye ask in my name, believing, that will my Father in heaven give to thee." Again it has been said, and truly, the Father will not withhold any good thing from those who love His coming.
19. Are ye ever fearful? Are ye ever condemning? The judgment or condemnation with which ye look on others, is that which will be directed to thee. For as ye treat others, so ye treat thy Maker.
20. Before that the entity was in the Spanish land among those in authority when there were those settlings along the eastern and western coasts of Africa.
21. The entity then was one who desired romance, changes, court being paid to the entity.
22. The entity used much diplomacy. The entity used much of the active influences that brought about changes in the material affairs of many peoples.
23. Then in the name Isabel the entity gained, the entity lost and then gained; gained in the purpose, lost in allowing others to use the entity for periods of self-glorification.
24. Before that the entity was in the Holy Land when the peoples of promise journeyed from Egypt to the land of promise.
25. The entity was among the peoples of Manasseh who settled on the west portion of the Jordan; not those who settled beyond the Jordan but who crossed over into the promised land.
26. There the entity was among those given to music, as well as to the keeping of the records and to the keeping of
4028-1 Page 4
things in order.
27. Would that all peoples were as nice and neat in the way their home looks, as this entity. Nothing sloven, nothing dirty is ever in the experience of the entity other than that forced by circumstance. This arises from those experiences of the entity among the children of Manasseh.
28. The name then was Gershan.
29. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land among those in the offices and activities of the Temple of Sacrifice, where the entity kept the statistics for the Priest and those who acted in the capacities for the performing of those activities that brought the changes into the lives of individuals who consecrated themselves for special service and activity.
30. Thus again the activity as a statistician or as a record keeper. These are parts of the entity's pattern and must find expression.
31. But do write the story of the life of the own self. For this may insure the entity financial independence as well as put the entity in the position of finding in the material things of life that which will bring the most harmony in the experience.
32. Ready for questions.
33. (Q) Will the Dentist come back into my life? (A) As indicated this is the companion, and there will be companionship in the harmonious experiences of life.
34. (Q) Would it be advisable to give up my positions here and leave Norfolk? If so, when and where must I go? (A) Not necessarily. We would rather advise keeping the position in the present. When the period comes for a rest, go where there is little or none of the own activities - and do write that story.
35. (Q) How can I atone for some sins I have committed and for which I am truly sorry? (A) Forgive those, and ask forgiveness of those to whom these have been committed. Forget them, as will He - who has promised - "Sin no more."
36. (Q) Will the prayer which I have been praying for seven years be answered? (A) As indicated, all prayers are answered when the individual doesn't tell God just how to answer them.
37. (Q) Should my son continue his music and will I be able to help him, if I make a change? (A) By all means continue music. For it is a part that will add to him and ye will be able, if ye follow through, to give all that is needed for the success in same. For it was part of that preparation ye prepared with and for him in
4028-1 Page 5
the Egyptian experience, in the Temple of Sacrifice.
38. (Q) Does the Doctor appreciate my putting flowers on his mother's grave? (A) This should not be as to whether the Doctor appreciates it or not. Let it be an answer to thee, to the mother. For if this is done in the right spirit, it will bring many more returns than if done purposely to please someone living. This is not the gaining of something from same but the contributing to the memory, with the thought of love and compassion.
39. (Q) Did my employer pass information to the Doctor in order to break us up and did my employer take letters from my home? (A) This should be as something forgotten. These are not things to be kept in the mind itself. For if ye are to be forgiven, ye must in thyself be forgiving. For the manner in which ye treat others is the manner in which ye are treating thy Maker. Remember, it is yourself you have to live with the most. Others can move out of the way. You can't move, or you can't refrain from meeting thine own self.
40. (Q) Is there more which I can do to make my mother comfortable? (A) You are doing very well and a very good job. Just keep it in earnest.
41. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file " under case number for indexing (Your Check Life Reading appointment is being set for the afternoon of January 10th, 3:30.)
