Born September 29, 1890, in Jamestown, New York. Time of Reading Set bet. 10:30 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern War Time. N.Y.C.
1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane; giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them
2. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as [4038].
3. In giving an interpretation of the records here, these we would choose from same with the desire that this information be a helpful experience for the entity, enabling the entity to better fulfill the purposes for which it entered this sojourn.
4. We would magnify the virtues, we would minimize the faults. This should be not only a policy but as the tenets for the entity.
5. As we find, in analyzing the urges, the entity is under those influences according to what it has done about its activities in the earth, or the astrological urges that are latent and manifested from the spiritual sources of the body - rather than just the astrological terms. The urges are from the combination, or the how, and what the entity is doing about those experiences in the earth that are manifested through the emotions or senses of the body in the present, in its relationships to others.
6. With this entity, as with most individuals, the personality and individuality are not always the same. The entity is very strong-minded, very determined. Do not let the determination and purely pigheadedness be confused in self, because of reactions. For the entity is very
4038-1 Page 2
sensitive to others, and is at times - not always, but at times - sensitive to resentments, and then it may at times act without the better judgement in the ideals and purposes.
7. Conditions in the experience of the entity, both as to astrological influences and those from sojourns in the earth, indicate the interest of the entity in general and social welfare work. These would be combinations that would be indicated from ideals set by the entity, but be sure the ideals are coordinant with spiritual, mental, as well as material circumstance.
8. Truth is truth, whether under the dire circumstance or the most pleasing or most excellent. The principles that may be applied in relationships to individuals should be just as severe or just as lax in one as in the other.
9. Let the basic principles be as these: Be not unmindful that God is not mocked. Whatsoever a man sows (and that means woman too), that must he reap - whether in the spiritual, mental or material activities. If one would be forgiven, one must oneself be forgiving in the relationships to others - and with what judgement. For some it will make the difference between judgements of others and what one actually does. But how was the principle set by the Master? "Thou hast read, thou shalt do this or that, but I say unto you, it is in mind (for mind is the builder)." It is the attitude that counts. For one may lie just as much with a look as with words. One may be just as deceiving with a smile - yes, how was the betrayal? - by a severe look or with a kiss? These are principles, basic principles that may be applied in thy relationships as teachings to others in social and welfare work, in which the entity has been and is as beautiful a pattern as has been in the earth.
10. We find the astrological influences of Mercury, Venus and Jupiter, with variations from Saturn as well as Mars.
11. Don't let anger or resentment, then, ever stand in thy way of being all things to all men, that ye may serve the more. This would appear contradictory, but in thy treatment of those whom you meet, who come under the influence of sectionalism and those who have been taught the law of some creed, can you deal with all the same? Or those who have never entered a church, or who have never found that virtue has its own reward and is not something you are to be patted on the back for? For these are the fires of nature and oft there are quite varied circumstances. But the law of the Lord is perfect. In wisdom then, in love, in justice, mete thy abilities, in directing others who may be even better organizers than thy own self.
12. Then counsel well with self, as well as with others, but
4038-1 Page 3
from the principles and tenets of Him who was the way, the truth and the light. For there is no other name given under heaven whereby man may be saved, and that's from themselves, as well as from the evils that so many individuals think are the cause of other people attempting to gain control politically or financially. Their sources and their principles are one.
13. In judgment then, as so often given, study to show thyself approved unto God. That is presupposing that thy ideals are the law of the Lord; rightly stressing the words of truth and giving due consideration, being all things to all peoples. Put thyself in the other individual's place, and not merely because "I think it is this or I know this is true," but consider. For if mercy and justice were measured by the heavenly Father, as it would be by thyself, would thee be consistent? Consistency is the jewel that most souls need. You cannot be one thing today and something else tomorrow. There must be consistency.
14. As to the appearances in the earth, these have been quite varied throughout the sojourns; yet, as indicated, there is a path for the labors and work among others in consideration of the individuals less fortunate, mentally and materially - or in social service work.
15. Before this the entity was in the land of the present nativity during the settling in what is now called the Mohawk Valley. There has been quite an urge for the entity in many varied ways or manners, concerning this particular environ.
16. The entity was among those who undertook, during those trying periods, to correlate and coordinate the efforts of the various types of groups, so as to make one universal working group. This is well.
17. These activities brought about the varied experiences because of the technical differences in the students of one and the students of another; as the Irish, the Scandinavian, the French and the German groups.
18. These have brought and do bring to the entity a consciousness concerning which the warning has been given. These ye may judge and must judge for thine own self.
19. The entity gained, though, for it controlled by love and by might; but remember vengeance belongeth to the Lord and not to an individual human. For individuals in the earth are prone to allow selfishness to control.
20. The name then was Marion Cowper.
21. Before this the entity was in the English land during those periods when there was the cry for the groups to defend themselves because of the necessity for the division

of church and state.
22. The entity then kept an equal balance in the activities, and aided in keeping resentments from being builded between those of various groups.
23. The entity then was in the name of Mina Hoorn.
24. Before that the entity was in the Holy Land following the periods when the persecutions spread those who had come to a more perfect understanding from the teachings and tenets upon the day of Pentecost.
25. This portion of the activities or of the acts of some of the Apostles has meant much to the entity. For there the entity was in close association with some of the Apostles, becoming an associate or companion with the son of Andrew in the experience through that land.
26. Hence the entity was very close to Peter, Mark, as the companion to Andrew's son, and in those activities brought the establishing of helpful forces. For the entity was among the first proclaimed as a deaconess in a church, in its activities in Asia Minor.
27. The name then as Paula.
28. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, being among those prepared as emissaries to other lands. Uniting and affecting the activities in group associations in varied lands, the entity was active through the Temple Beautiful and in its service in the lands from which the Priest and the King had come.
29. As to the abilities of the entity, then: Serve in those capacities where you may better be a channel of blessings to others in finding the best in others. Unify efforts. Magnify where varied groups agree. Do not stress the differences.
30. Trust wholly in the Lord.
31. Ready for questions.
32. (Q) What have been my past relationships with my husband, [...]? (A) In the experience just before this in the Mohawk Valley, in this the native land. And in the Asia Minor experience ye were companions one with another, for the present husband was a son of Andrew.
33. (Q) What directions should I follow in order to best help him in his life work for the betterment of mankind? (A) Read what has just been indicated as to the attitude to be taken and as to how there is to be a unifying of groups, as to how activities are to be correlated and the stress put upon the agreements - those things wherein leaders agree; minimize their differences.
34. We are through for the present.
