Time of Reading Set bet. 3:30 to 4:30 P. M. Eastern War Time. Hollywood, Ca.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, those conditions, those environs and activities of the body called [4040].
3. In giving that which as we find may be most helpful, there are many things to be taken into consideration - the environs for the body, the mental attitude of the body and of those making, or assisting to make, the applications for the disturbances we find existent.
4. These conditions have been coming on for a long period. They have gradually grown to be more and more of a hindrance in locomotion and activity of the body. Yet we find that the attitudes, the circumstances and conditions must all be taken into consideration. If there will be the coordination or cooperation of all concerning same, we may bring those conditions where there may be an alleviation of a great deal of these disturbances.
5. This will, of course, require time, patience, persistence and consistency on the part of all - and on the part of the body in particular.
6. The chemical unbalancing in the system has produced a static form of arthritic reactions. These have been principally in the extremities but, by the inactivity, by the great anxiety that has existed, are now beginning to make inroads on the assimilating system or digestive system and as related to eliminations.
7. First, for the body, we would change the environs. New York, from now on would be more in accord with the needs - and where there may be better coordination or cooperation regarding those activities most necessary. The Theatre

Guild, or the group that cares for those who have been associated with same, should and will be found to be cooperative.
8. And the applications suggested here may be made by and through the connections in The Reilly Service, as to take care of the greater part of that necessary for the body.
9. To be sure, during the first weeks and months, until there is the ability of the body to be carried regularly to the Institute, it will require an attendant or nurse - or one to care for the body.
10. But begin with these activities, when the preparations have been made - and these can be arranged to be cared for:
11. Take internally one drop of Atomidine in half a glass of water before the morning meal for three days in succession each week - the same three days each week.
12. Sometime during each day, and at the same time each day, massage the body - the limbs, the spine, the abdomen - with this combination of oils: Peanut Oil...........2 ounces, Olive Oil............2 ounces, Lanolin (melted)...1/4 ounce. Do this for at least five weeks each day, throughout that period taking the Atomidine three days in succession each week.
13. Then (not before) begin with the Epsom Salts Baths. This should be with almost a saturated solution. Let the body be massaged and the limbs, while the body sits in the Bath. This should be very carefully attended by at least two assistants during the time.
14. Follow such a Bath with a very thorough massage, while the body is still warm from the Bath, using the same combination of oils indicated.
15. Rest then a week to ten days. Keep up the Atomidine for three days, and the day before the second Epsom Salts Bath is to be given, give five drops of the Atomidine.
16. This may prove very trying, but do these - do these sincerely, do these very carefully.
17. Rest then another ten days, and during this period take the Atomidine five days in succession - then have the other Epsom Salts Bath.
18. Each day throughout the rest period the massage with oils would be given. Also give the massage following each Epsom Salts Bath. The water should be just as warm as the body can well stand.
19. After the third series, then begin with the short wave
4040-1 Page 3
electrical treatments. These to be taken every third day and to be followed by the oil rub - very thoroughly.
20. By the time there has been taken the second short wave treatment, the body should be able to see decided results.
21. IN the matter of the diet, keep to the raw vegetables and a well balanced diet - fish, fowl and lamb as meats - if any meats at all are taken. Have plenty of vegetables of the leafy variety. Little or no sweets. It will be necessary at times to take sedatives, but keep as far from these as possible. Also stay away from alcoholic drinks.
22. Do these and we will make better conditions for the body.
23. Ready for questions.
24. (Q) Will I ever walk again? (A) This will depend upon the attitude, the purposes, the consistency and persistency.
25. (Q) What did I do to get this way? (A) The unbalancing in the chemical forces and the attitudes through some of the periods has much to do with the resultant physical conditions in the present [Note: The song-and-dance numbers which directly promoted her rise to fame were expressions of an attitude of selfishness and complete disregard for other people]. Hence the environs, the consistency and the purposefulness. Why would the entity be relieved of the disturbance? That it might gratify self alone, or that it might become a greater channel for activity as a witness-bearing entity for an ideal purpose? These are attitudes to consider. Do as outlined. Arrangements may be made through the groups indicated, and the applications may be made through The Reilly Service.
26. (Q) What should I do for support? (A) As indicated, let this come through the activities of that group that prepares for and takes care of such conditions.
