Time of Reading 3:30 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Mo.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions he submits, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here: [4076].

3. As we find there are disturbances which have caused abnormal reactions through this body. These have arisen from conditions which arose in the body sometimes back. There were those disturbances caused in the area between the caecum and the lacteal ducts such that adhesions, combined with the activity of the eliminations as related to colon and the circulation in regards; to activity of glands in and through the lacteals and the jejunum, have drawn on the area of the transverse and descending colon (which is across the body).

4. Thus at times there is that feeling that as of an ache but rather a drawing (not a pain) across the abdomen, that causes the reaction through the central nerve and blood supply of the body.

5. Hence the disturbance produced in the nervous system as related to the organs controlled by cerebrospinal nerves. The lungs, heart, liver and kidneys are at various times involved in the disturbance, though the pressure produced in the circulation has caused the engorging of the veins and arteries in the upper circulation - or from diaphragm upward.

6. These are the resultant reactions; not merely because of the binding, as it were, of the pressure upon the temple or the organs of eyes, ears, nose and mouth, but the activities to the whole lung supply. For instead of the thrombosis as would sometimes occur, the nature of the adhesions in the area across the colon and down the side of the caecum draws on the nerve supply to the lung and the upper portion of

body.

7. These, too, are the sources of those disturbances through the lymph or the soft tissue of face, nasal passage, at times in throat; these, of course, in the circulation between lungs, heart, liver and kidneys. All in some manner, at various times, are disturbed.

8. Poor eliminations are a part of the effects from the liver disturbance. A small amount of secretions through the activities between the gall duct, the pancreas and the spleen - indicating at various times the affectation through these pressures produced.

9. We find that the body, with precautions, may be materially aided.

10. First we would begin with the use of hot Castor Oil Packs over the area from the lower portion of the liver to the caecum, extending across the abdomen at the colon area - or coming just below the navel center. Apply an electric pad to keep these warm, as warm as the body may well stand, for an hour each day for three days in succession. Each time when removing the Packs, sponge off the area with tepid soda water. Then massage gently the area of the abdomen with this combination of oils: Olive Oil...................2 ounces, Peanut Oil..................2 ounces, Lanolin (melted)..........1/4 ounce. This is to act as food for the abdominal area.

11. After each three-day period of applying the Packs, take internally at least a tablespoonful of Olive Oil - after the first series, and after the second series increase the amount a third of tablespoonful; after the third series take about two tablespoonful, you see.

12. Have the three-day series of the Packs each week, you see; the same three days each week.

13. After the third week, have a colonic irrigation, gently given - not with just the colon tube but carefully, scientifically given.

14. We will find that we will reduce, even just with this, the pressure in the blood supply. As the lesions or adhesions are gradually broken up, nearer and nearer normal may become the pressure. Continue these applications until normalcy is gained.

15. After the first colonic irrigation, following the third series of the Castor Oil Packs (not before), we would begin having osteopathic adjustments with special reference to subluxations existing in the 5th, 6th and 7th dorsal. Do

4076-1 Page 3

not attempt to make all the corrections at once. These have remained too long, with this pressure, for the correction to be attempted all at once without raising the blood pressure. But as these corrections are made, as the lesions or adhesions are relieved, we will bring better conditions for this body. With such mechanical (osteopathic) adjustments there should be included massage - this is outside of the daily massage with the oils to be given following the Packs, you see. You can find an osteopath through the general council who will cooperate but choose one from the Kirksville schools.

16. In the diet - keep away from any red meats or any hog meat, or any beef. Fish, fowl and lamb may be taken if desired. No fried foods. Leafy vegetables are preferable; at least two to three of these at any meal to any one of those grown under the ground. Do include the raw vegetables that may be taken as a salad. Mix these oft with gelatin for the body.

17. For these disturbances that have arisen by the use of the high vibration treatments for face and nasal areas, we would prepare a Plantain Salve in this manner:

18. To half a teacup of Plantain (by measure, not by weight), the tender leaves only - that may be found now - bruised or cut in very small strips, add half a teacup of sweet cream that comes from the top of milk; not that which has been separated but where it separates on the top of fresh milk standing over eight hours. Allow this to come almost to a boil - very slowly, though. Then let cool and apply - as a poultice or as an ointment or salve; not necessarily even being strained.

19. We find that this may bring back even the color to the organ, as well as eliminating the disturbances arising from this circulation being turned through the blood channels of the face, head and neck.

20. Do these and we will bring better conditions for this body.

21. Ready for questions.

22. (Q) What can be done to strengthen vision? (A) As we strengthen the general supply of energies to the sensory system, as through part of the adjustments osteopathically from the areas indicated to the first cervicals, we will gradually strengthen the vision also.

23. (Q) Is there an organic heart condition? (A) This is affecting the organ, but not organically; only in the manner in which it acts and reacts.

24. (Q) What should be done for bladder? (A) The changes that will be wrought by the loosening or

4076-1 Page 4

alleviating of the adhesions will alleviate the activity that has been causing disturbance through the bladder area.

25. (Q) What about the ears? (A) This is a portion of the sensory system and will be aided by the applications for the relief of the disturbances causing external effects as well as the pressure on the balance in the inner ear. Do not apply ANY properties to ease [ears?] - only those applications to the nasal area or nose. Thus we will bring better conditions for this body.

26. We are through with this Reading. [See note below.] Two copies to Self (one for the osteopath) Copy to Ass'n file " under case number for indexing (The osteopath who has been treating Mrs. [3670] ... St., ..., Mo., with such remarkable results in following Mr. Cayce's suggestions, is: Dr. Laura N. Chappell, 5565 Maple Ave., St. Louis, Mo. She is not listed as a member of the American Osteopathic Association, so I cannot tell whether she is from the Kirksville school or not. There are many other non-member osteopaths in St. Louis who may be of that school. The following I find listed: Dr. Newton C. Allen, 3559 Halliday Ave. Dr. Samuel A.
