1. GC: You will have before you Sections 6, 5, 4, 7, 8, and 9 in Township 20 North, Range 6 East. Also Sections 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33 in Township 21 North, Range 6 East, in and near Monroe gas field, State of Louisiana. You will locate the oil pools by giving Township, Range and Section number and make location to drill within a ten acre tract within section where largest oil pool is located. You will give depth that oil will be found and quantity that will be produced. You will answer any questions I may ask you regarding this.
2. EC: Yes, we have the areas as surround the gas fields here, known as Monroe Gas Field, Louisiana.
3. Now, we find there may be oil produced from those lands in and adjacent to these gas fields, but in insufficient quantities unless drilled to a great depth, for the formations are such that the waters destroy or produce moving fields of oil, while the gas seeks different levels through the various formations that are encountered in this district. The underlying formations are of the gulf coastal and are sedimentaries, and the roving or moving; or seeks the other levels through the amount of water encountered in the various strata; for we find the fresh water more detrimental than the salt waters; yet these may be handled in the manner that gas and oil may be produced from these fields in sufficient quantities to be commercially valuable; yet not equal to many pools found in this state under different conditions.
4. That as seen in Section 30, in the southwest quarter of the northwest quarter, would prove to be one of the better places to seek production on account of the stratums that have not been made inactive by the various water levels coming in this portion of the field. Here we would encounter the medium gas pressure at twenty-one hundred and eight (2108) feet and the oil at the twenty-two hundred and twenty (2220) feet. This would be the better position, as we find same here. This, however, would not equal many wells in various portions of the state, or the same district

farther west or south; yet this could be made the lasting production by using those conditions that would allow the saving of gas and oil from the same operation. This making much longer lasting than some have proven where the attempt was made to secure oil from the field.
5. Ready for questions.
6. (Q) What amount of oil will be produced at the twenty-two twenty (2220) depth? (A) The gas pressure of little less than one million cubit feet, and the oil of three to five hundred barrels - twenty-four hours.
7. (Q) Will oil be found deeper than the 2220 depth? (A) Oil might be found deeper in other places. This the nearer where the formations have not been disturbed by inlet of water in the various strata; this having an outlet to many portions of the greater pool and less likelihood of disturbance from water. In the greater depths, in sections like 21, we would find those of greater pressure and production, but here we would find more trouble from water soon flooding the producing area, see?
In drilling here we find those of the rotary nature the better, and necessary that when the gas is reached that this be taken care of while the drilling is completed in the same operation, for this may be used as fuel in other portions of field. The hard case or cap above the oil could be used either with certain characters of rotary or of standard tools, see?
Now, much may be said as respecting the oil conditions in this portion of the country. Much has been destroyed by incompetent and inexperienced handling of production, both as to the gas and oil conditions. The oil as given, especially, has been driven to various fields that have been producing, where the real content was from this Monroe area. Such is seen in that of east Texas and in the more east central Texas fields, this being a portion of the same fields, lying east of the uplift in more central Texas, an offshoot of the more southern and more coastal regions.
8. We are through for the present with this reading.
