Section 18, Time of Reading Township 21 North, 12:00 Noon - Eastern Standard Time. Range 6 East, near Bastrop, Louisiana.
1. GC: You will give the depth below sea level that gas and oil will be found, also the quantity that may be obtained, at what depth to set casing, what trouble may be encountered with water in well now being drilled by the United Carbon Company.
2. EC: Yes - this district, these conditions as surround operations, or attempted operations in this district, we have had before.
3. As has been outlined, the greater trouble that will be experienced in operations in these fields is the close proximity of water, salt and fresh, to the producing area; yet, were those waters as are encountered in the 1890 to 2300 foot depth cased off, there will be in the 2980 to 3200 foot depth below the level, sufficient oil and gas obtained to make this an especially well paying proposition for those seeking same. The quantity running to twenty to thirty million cubic feet gas, with sufficient oil to pay for operations.
