1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will give the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Yes. Now, we find there are many disturbing conditions, and many results, varying in their intensity according to those conditions as have been applied in the body for the correction of same, without much result - none of permanent nature. The conditions, as we find, are functional rather than organic, though most of the organs of the mesenteric system and the digestive system are involved in the condition. While the suppression of nerve reaction has at times brought relief to the body, the condition itself has not been reached - for the effects rather than causes have been treated.

3. We find there are in the lower portion of the dorsal and in the lumbar regions those indications of adhesions and lesions as have long existed in the pelvis region, and these in their turn, through the various reflexes, have brought about this disturbance throughout the mesenteric system. Hence we find the liver, the kidneys, the hepatic circulation, and naturally - through suppression - heart's action, as well as the whole blood supply, being in the position of having more to eliminate than goes through the correct channels.

4. Would we bring about, then, the better conditions for this body, we would leave off all those conditions or properties that have been, or are being, taken for the ease or relief for the body, and begin with that which will bring about a different condition within the nerve system and to the functioning organs of the body. First we would prepare and take as this: To one-half (1/2) gallon of distilled water, add:

Wild Cherry Bark............................6 ounces.

4268-1 Page 2

Reduce this by simmering (not boiling) to one-half (1/2) the quantity - one (1) quart. Strain. Then add to this four (4) ounces of beet sugar, dissolved in two (2) ounces hot water. Then reduce by slow simmering to one (1) quart again, see? Then we would add:

Compound Syrup of Sarsaparilla............1/2 ounce, Tincture of Stillingia....................1/4 ounce, Essence of Poke Root.......................10 minims, Essence or Tincture of Yellow Dock Root....20 minims, Elixir Calisaya...........................1/2 ounce, 10% Solution Iodide Potassium.............1/4 ounce, 10% Solution Bromide Potassium............1/2 ounce, Tincture of Capsici.........................2 minims, Oil of Sassafras...........................30 minims.

Shake the solution well together before each dose is taken. The dose should be half teaspoonful five (5) times each day, taken before meals and before retiring, and once during the night, see? (for the body wakes enough - often enough - in the night to take this without trouble) which will come about - between twelve and one (12 and 1) each evening.

5. When half the quantity has been taken - NOT BEFORE - not afterward - begin with the deep manipulation, osteopathically, to make those corrections of the lesions and adhesions which show in the pelvic and in the lower dorsal and whole lumbar region. At least thirteen (13) deep adjustments will be necessary.

6. Provided the correct diet is assumed while these are being taken, we find no reason for local treatments, yet - unless the system responds - these may become necessary.

7. The diet would be as much as two (2) green vegetables at least twice each day, alternating these from day to day. No meats of any character, though soups may be taken occasionally. No stimuli, either coffee or tea, or any other of such properties. Milk or ovine [Ovaltine?] may be taken. Ovine [Ovaltine?] may be taken of morning and milk taken the other two meals. This may be alternated with sweet milk and buttermilk if the body so desires. With the buttermilk let there be a little pinch of salt in each glass taken. Do not use the milk that too much of the cream has been separated from - the casein will be necessary in the system.

8. Do these, as we have given, and we will find we will bring better conditions for this body, [4268].

9. We are through for the present.
