1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body, especially the conditions that cause hay fever.
2. EC: Now, in many respects we find this body very good physically, and in many ways an exceptional body mentally.
3. The abnormal physical forces, as we find, in the greater part are produced by specific conditions existing in system that causes deflection in the normal functioning of organs. Hence we have a disturbance in gland functioning of system and in the organs.
4. Now these are conditions, then, as we find in this body. First:
5. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find full, especially in the white blood supply and in the pressure as is produced in the functioning of red blood system. The lymphatic circulation and the glands as assist in the lymph glands produce an overflow to certain portions of the system, which has been or is termed as the excretory forces, or of nasal, throat troubles, see?
6. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, in this we find the greater distress in the body. In times back (several years) there has been in the body those conditions that brought about disturbances in the lower cervicals and in the upper dorsal region. The form and character of lesion as is produced by this deflection causes at periodical times the extra flow or incentive of the system in its excretory functioning. Hence the pressure as has been produced in blood supply, the fullness or overflow as is brought about in the lymphatic circulation by the inflation as is produced in glands by inhalation of dust, or of particles of pollen, that brings about this disturbance to throat, bronchials and nasal cavities, see? called hay fever at times.
7. The correction, then, of these will be of that way and manner in which this may be eliminated entirely from the
4375-1 Page 2
system; that is, by the next season that this occurs, see? and assisted at present.
8. In the general system of the nerve centers, especially those of the solar plexus, we find those that disturbed the hypogastric and pneumogastric plexuses. This, as we see, is that as produced the condition through the digestive system, the overtaxing and stimulation in the lacteal ducts, and these bring to the body the depression as is seen at times. This brings about the sudden change in temperamental effects of the body.
9. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, brain forces very good.
10. Throat, lungs, bronchials, larynx, nasal cavity, all of the system in the respiratory forces (above the middle portion of body, see?) under that strain as is brought about in the body. From the lower portion, below the digestive region, we see brings about that condition that prevents the equilibrium of the body in rest, which brings at times insomnia, with the tendency towards extra respiratory functioning, or sweats at night.
11. In the digestive system at present this is very good, considering the conditions in the body, yet those toxins in the system show that the excretory forces, when the lymphatics are so overcharged, as at present, do not bring about the proper eliminations. Hence the toxins from liver and kidneys raising at times, gradually, heart's action, or blood pressure, with the depression in other portions of system, see?
12. In the functioning of the liver, kidneys and the excretory forces, these are under this strain at the present time.
13. Then, to bring about the normal forces for the body, we would first, through the deep manipulation, osteopathically given, give those adjustments that will correct these conditions in the cerebrospinal system, reducing pressure as gives the incentive for the gland disturbance and relieving the tension as gives the blood pressure, turning the circulation through the excretory forces of kidneys and liver. This may be assisted under strain by taking internally a hypodermical dose (not taken hypodermically) of atropine, one 1/120th of a grain.
14. The diet and the exercises of the body to produce a perfect assimilation in body, and normal elimination, see, will assist. That is, specific exercises of mornings for the body in upper portion, above waist, arms, neck, head, see? In evenings, lower portion, waist line, lower limbs, see?
4375-1 Page 3
15. Do this, and we will find we will bring normal forces for this body.
16. The doses of atropine as given should not be taken closer together than two to three days, if taken at all, see? [GD's note: See 4351-1 recommending the inhaling of Jimsonweed for Asthma, and supplementary article saying that Atropine is the alkaloid present in Jimsonweed. This is interesting to me since above reading recommends Atropine for Hay Fever. Atropine was also recommended in the readings for other ailments, but so far the only index card we have on Jimsonweed is 4351-1 advising the inhaling of it for Asthma.]
17. The osteopathic applications should be given at least every day, until the condition is reduced and the diet corrected in this manner: Coarser foods. Less sweets, not much meats. Fish or fowl and those properties in vegetable foods that grow ABOVE the ground.
18. We are through for the present.
