1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the care and relief of this body.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here.
3. Now, we find there are those conditions that - were these allowed to remain, they would bring about that action in the system that would be hard to deal with; yet corrections made in time would bring about a much better reaction in the system.
4. These, then are conditions as we find them with this body, [4378] we are speaking of.
5. First:
6. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, here we find those traces of conditions as show throughout the functioning of the organs - for, as given, while the blood is first the life flow of the body, it may become also the death flow of a body - this dependent upon the conditions in which the blood stream proper is kept.
7. The quantity over or plus the quality good in many respects, yet the pressure - though not much above NORMAL - shows in its nature the character of the condition existent that CAUSES same - which is of rather the subtle nature. This being so interlaced, as it were, with the whole physical condition causing disturbance, though at the present time not of any alarming nature, nor would it become so were the corrections as given made BEFORE these PRODUCE conditions that are distraught in the system. Hence we find this condition a RESULT and not a CAUSE of disturbance.
8. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, this very good in many respects. Again, though, we find these conditions needing attention that - LEFT in their present state - could and would PRODUCE those effects that would be TROUBLESOME to deal with in conjunction with other conditions existent; for we find a SUBTLE subluxation - that is, one apparently of a minor
4378-1 Page 2
nature, and by some would be called an impossible condition to produce the effects seen in the body. BUT, correct this condition and watch conditions CHANGE. Then the results would speak for themselves!
9. In times back there was received by the body a wrench, or a minor injury to the 8th and 9th dorsal vertebra. Nature, in attempting to meet the needs of conditions produced there, set up a minor internal lesion, or lesion from the back portion - of the vertebra. This has gradually brought about the improper incentive toward the functioning of the pancreas, and the nerve reflex there being impaired prevents the system from assimilating properly those conditions, and functioning properly toward those conditions necessary for this organ. Slight, to be true - slight in the effect, yet the blood test, the blood pressure, the kidney action shows by examination this condition to exist. Now this may be called a liver disturbance from inactivity, or lack of outdoor exercise, or improper dieting. The CONDITION produced by this improper presentation, or the improper INCENTIVE to the organ itself through reflexes in this region. With these conditions comes the overloading of the system with properties to be eliminated through regular channels - either the mesenteric system proper distributed between the functioning of the system, as provided for through the action of the liver, or from the kidneys. In both cases, whenever too highly seasoned foods are taken, or too much of foods that produce an INDIFFERENT, or an extra amount of alcohol in the system, or when alcoholic stimulants are taken, the body immediately feels the effect of the condition. When the normal pastoral, or normal life is led - plenty of exercise, not over feeding - the body feels the better, and the disturbance is less noticeable. Hence the subtle condition as given. Again we see the body with such overcharging of the system becomes easily susceptible to cold, congestion, or takes cold more easily than ordinarily should be the case. Again we have reflex action to the hypogastric and pneumogastric plexus, causing the extra secretions of the lymph in the various portions of the body to meet the needs. Hence irritation through the throat. To the nasal cavity and head we find the mucus discharged from and by same. These then, as we see, are as the pointers of existent condition, and NOT a cause and effect.
10. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS, the body is good. The body is balanced well. The body takes care of self (normally) well - yet these incursions, as it were, into the field of close to a border, are not well, and corrections
4378-1 Page 3
made we will find less of these disturbances, a better assimilation, a better digestion, more elasticity to the body, to the step; clearer in the head and free more from cold or from troubles of kidney, or of any portion of the system.
11. Do this then at the present to relieve these conditions:
12. Prepare first as this: To eight (8) ounces of distilled water add four (4) ounces of garden sage. Reduce by simmering (not boiling) to one-half (1/2) the quantity, see? four (4) ounces will be left, see, when strained off. To this add Gordon Gin one (1) ounce. Beet sugar one (1) ounce dissolved in two (2) ounces of hot distilled water. Ambergris ten (10) grains dissolved in one (1) ounce of pure grain alcohol. Cinnamon water one-half (1/2) ounce.
13. Shake the solution well together before each dose is taken, which would be teaspoonful twice each day, upon arising of a morning before exercises are taken and before retiring AFTER exercises are taken for the evening; that is, the stretching of the body - not so much that of the setting-up exercises, but the general stretching - arms, limbs - turning of the body - morning and evening.
14. Then, while this is being done - that is, during this same period, have osteopathically those subligations corrected that exist in the dorsal region. Do that. We are through for the present.
