Time of Reading Unknown.

1. GKN: Now, Mr. Cayce, you are going to sleep, a quiet, peaceful and restful sleep. All the organs of your body will function perfectly, you will be normal in every way. You will hear me what I say and answer the questions I shall ask you slowly and distinctly so that we may get every word. Now, Mr. Cayce, you are asleep and you have before you the property of the Ramapo Mfg. Co., in the town of Ramapo, Rockland Co., N.Y. and also in the town of Pompton, Passaic County and Hohokus, Bergen County, N.J. We have had this before. We also have here Mr. T. H. Pierson who is in room 2154 McAlpin Hotel, New York City. Tell us, Mr. Cayce, was one of the double oaks Mr. Pierson blazed on this property April 5th the one mentioned as giving the location of the sale. If so, which one.

2. EC: Yes, we have had this property before. Yes, here is the one with four marks on it. This we see where tree was marked here which is on the north and west side or south and east from lake as we have given here before, 15,000 barleycorns from tree to lake. We have a double tree on the bank of the lake just across from the stream. As we cross this, now we are going toward the south, we begin at the lake tree here on the bank of the lake, we go toward the south see, we have a stream, we get location from this. Now we commence over here. The lake runs to the point the farthest up on the land this way which is toward - the lake's direction - is toward south and west, that is, from here to the lake from where the road comes in from around the other side. The lake tends towards south and west the farthest point entering the land. We have a branch or stream entering this almost from the slope along the side. We come up the lake around this bank going now toward north and east this stream and this side, that is toward south and east going now north on the bank of lake we find the second stream that enters here the lake which is across this little stream where we find the double tree, on branch which is partly dead. Now, from this point we begin. We go south by east, that is by the compass, over the sand and at the edge of the hill and over a smaller hill up where the road has crossed to the tree which is 15,000 barleycorns from the

first one on the bank of the lake under this tree. That is, some 15 ft. we find the outcroppings there of shale, that is, not stratified shale, many varied colors of stone, some that have been well worn, some showing sandy formations, some showing iron formations from upheavals, many are loose. Now, from the tree here marked, we go back toward the lake 15 ft., close to this also is an old pit as we have had here before. Just below this we find the water that turns here from the roadway, some seepage that has come out showing the gaseous formation on this coming out from where the looser shale is coming from. This is seepage, some would call it a vegetable formation. It is gaseous formation from shale that is below here. Dig in at this place where you will find formation because there is many various kinds around the entrance here. Outcropping from this strata south by ease [east?] the other side of this divide we again find outcropping of all the water line in the brook. This would be the place to enter in for working of this as the drainage would come this way and flow off from it and could be better handled in handling shale of this character. The character of this shale is exceedingly good if used properly. Now the upper stratas we will find from tree entrance are hard, close-grained sand, some showing of sandstone carrying much of irons showing heavy close onyx apparent or crystals in edges of rocks some 25 to 50 ft. we will find the shale in its proper strata formation.

3. (Q) How is the best way to work this shale Mr. Cayce, or any particular process? (A) We are locating the shale. Get it before you work it.

4. (Q) What could shale be used for? (A) For that which we find in it. Oil that has been taken up by its formation here which is the leakage or drainage from the field where we have oil through this territory.

5. (Q) Are we to dig as designated 15 ft. from the double oak, Mr. Cayce? (A) The outcroppings we have given here now, we have 15 ft. from this double oak, which is 15,000 barleycorns from the double oak on the bank of lake towards the south, now as we find if we dig here at this place we will first encounter the hard strata formation as given here before, this is the place to open to make the verifications of what we are giving here. To work, dig from the other side, that is some distance over. This shows the first hard strata formation. Then the straight formations lower entrance to this. This we will find is oil bearing shale. The direction will be toward and under this tree as we have marked here. Do that.
