This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Tutwiler Hotel, Birmingham, Alabama, this 7th day of October, 1922.

1. FEM: Mr. Cayce, you are going to sleep.
Now, Mr. Cayce, you are asleep and all of the organs of your body will function properly and you will hear me and answer all of my questions. You have before you the body of Miss [4399], and I want you go over her body and tell us the mental and physical condition; if an operation is necessary or not. She is in this room at present.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here.
3. All of the abnormal conditions we find in this body have to do with the functioning of organs within this system, and especially with those that have to do with the torso and their action with the functioning throughout the viscera, you see.
4. Now these are the conditions as we find in this body here, Miss [4399], we are speaking of in this room present.
5. Through the blood supplying forces in the system we find the blood is deficient in some of the alimentary forces that should be found within the hemoglobin, the reduction of these forces being produced by the system attempting to create proper coagulation where tissue has been involved by the non-functioning of organs in their proper shape, so the blood has assumed or takes up some of the visula [?] that should be eliminated that carries them back and forth into the system, bringing the effect we find in the condition here. While the number of the red blood corpuscles are of a normal number, their functioning is not normal. An over-supply of the leukocyte forces are shown in the blood, this being produced by the system attempting to allay or create, shows the condition necessary to alleviate tissues attacked as we see through the organs themselves. Through the nerve forces in the body we find nerve attack on account of muscular strain being put on the organs, especially through the uterus and those through the pelvic organs as being strained through the over-action of the forces necessary to alleviate or carry the proper functioning through natural forces that are attacked by the nerve forces or the hepatic functioning through the viscera. tissue, or the pains that are expressed throughout this body, being more in the right side than any other portion of the body, producing pains to the head, at times producing nausea, affecting the system so as to disturb the nerve forces, producing melancholy, the lack of the nerve tissues to perform their proper functioning, an overtaxing of the systems nerve forces in its coordination with the cerebrospinal through the lumbar region, the carrying of these to the liver and spleen in its nerve force as does by brain action.
6. In the action of the organs themselves, we find the brain forces are very good, above the normal in the functioning of ideas, as expressed or given to the body or absorbed by the body. The suggestive forces express themselves throughout the body in good form, considering as we find the lung forces in the body are normal in their functioning, or the carrying of the forces as shown or produced by the glands through the upper portion of the body. They show their effects through the defects in the blood supplying forces in the system. Through the intestinal tract, or the digestive organs, will give out reflex through the conditions as expressed through the ovarian forces as they throw out discord, expression of the forces as needed here, and the express forces is to absorb and give off to the system those things to give the proper functioning of the organs of the pelvis, and the expression of the pelvis would not be necessary if the proper treatment were given to the organs themselves to function in their proper way. The impact as created in the pelvis as shown in the upper colon, comes more from reflex forces that we have in organic expression. The action of the kidneys themselves show the effect of some condition as produced in the body itself. The carrying of the blood supply through the improved alimentary forces show through the kidneys the action of these are suppressed, yet their functionings are not impaired so as to bring back such forces in the system as to produce poison.
7. (Q) Is case of an operation where should the operation be and for what? (A) From the condition existing through the pelvis it is not necessary, if this treatment here be given into the system, it is because the functioning of the organs being in a disturbed condition at the present time, and through the refunctioning of nerve centers too often to give the proper vent for all other organs of the viscera and the pelvis and if we will remove the inflammation we will correct the condition as expressed here in the pelvis, we would take into the system this:

Sarsaparilla Root..............4 ounces, Black Snake Root...............2 ounces, Burdock Root...................2 ounces, Buchu Leaves...................1 ounce, Black Haw Bark.................2 ounces, Flower of Elder................4 ounces.
This would be placed in one gallon of water, rain water, reduced by simmering, not boiling, to one quart, strain, and while still warm, add to this 4 ounces of grain alcohol with 3 drams of Balsam of Tolu and 2 drams of Sweet Gum.
After this has been taken into the system, tablespoonful 4 times a day, we find we have created a different effect of the blood supplying forces to the system, especially to the hepatics which affect the functioning of the organs of the torso and of the pelvis, especially the effects through these are to change the action of the functioning of all organs of the body, for an operation at present with the condition of the blood force in the system, and with the action of the heart suppressed, would prove very destructive to the physical body. After this has been taken we would use the vibration with the Ultra Violet Ray along the spine, then across the appendix, especially down the right side, if we would bring the normal condition more perfectly to this body here.
8. (Q) Mr. Cayce, has Miss [4399] ever had an operation for appendicitis, or anything else? (A) The effects of the operation show through the conditions in the side here, that is the colon, as we find where the pains were, or begin in the colon. The effect of the side to reach is not in the colon at all, but those that lie lateral or adjacent, so remove the lateral forces that have to do with the ovarian forces and those that have to do with the womb forces, we have had operation.
9. (Q) Mr. Cayce, Miss [4399] wants to know if she has a tumor. (A) We have no tumor. These do not come from a tumor formation, these come from the enlargement of the gland forces, so as we find here, if we remove these conditions from the body and follow these as we have given here we will bring relief to this body necessary.
