Time of Reading 5:30 P. M.

1. FEM: Now, Mr. Cayce, you are going to sleep. (Pause) Now, Mr. Cayce, you are asleep, and all of the organs of your body will function properly, and you will hear me and answer all of my questions. You have before you the body of [4495], ..., Alabama. Now, Mr. Cayce, I want you to go over this body that you have before you, from head to foot, and examine the body carefully, and tell me of any ailments or disorders that you may find within the body, and then tell me what will cure or relieve the body from the conditions that you find: Mr. [4495], ..., Alabama.

2. EC: We have the body here. Now, the abnormal conditions as we find them are many. They come from specific conditions that exist in this system. The effect is the abnormal condition that we find, and the effect, the functioning of the organs in many different ways, and the first cause that brought about the present conditions are far at present from those that are to be reached, if we would bring the body to a normal condition again. Not that the body can not be brought to a normal condition again. Not that the body can not be brought to a normal condition, but that many different conditions must be met before we could even begin to correct the condition that would make the body normal. Now, these are conditions as we find them in this body, [4495] we are talking about. The resistive force in the system has become very much depleted, so that any disturbance to any of the functioning organs, whether it reaches the system by suggestion or through taking into the system any element that disagrees with the digestive forces, each condition brings the same effect to this body, for we find the blood forces away below normal, even in their ability to create the sufficient amount of hemoglobin to meet the resistive force, much less storing energy to combat the conditions that have arisen in the walls of the arterial forces themselves. Hence the condition of the blood pressure within this body at times. The body is in sufficient balance at the present to accept or reject any element that would assist to rebuild or to destroy the life giving cells within this body; not that there is not

4495-1 Page 2

sufficient to build upon to bring back the normal forces, but we must begin with elemental if we would give a normal condition again in this body. The condition of the nervous system is such that it accepts or rejects as the condition arises within the system. Hence, the weakness of the sensory system is at present accentuated in the eye, the taste and the feeling, for all of the centers of the respiratory system gather help or destructive building forces throughout the entire system. The functioning organs as organs accept the condition as is presented to that organ to function at the time it is called on by the brain force itself to produce the functioning of that organ, whether it is of the conscious effect of the brain functioning or the sub-conscious functioning of the soul forces with the involuntary nervous and functioning system. In other words, this body lacks a long ways of being to the dividing line, you see. FEM: Yes, sir.

3. And it may be possible for the body to reach a great deal weaker condition than it presents to the physical world at present, and yet recuperate and be a normal functioning body in every respect. We would, to begin to bring the body to the normal condition, begin as we have said with elemental forces within the system and add to, little by little, until the whole normal force is again vibrating throughout this body. Give into the system those elements that are elemental in their action on the whole system; for a shock of any nature, whether suggestion from material, spiritual or soul forces, may produce destructive agents within this body. Give this: (Pause)

4. (Q) Mr. Cayce, are you ready to give the remedy for this body? (A) We have it here. Tincture of Valerian................3 ounces, Bromide of Potassium..............1/4 ounce, Celericina [Celerina], or extract from Celery...........2 ounces, Capsicum............................1 grain, Heroin..............................1 grain. Simple Syrup, sufficient to make 8 ounces. This must be shaken well before each dose is given the body; teaspoonful twice each day, and during the night, once, if necessary to produce rest, or when it becomes necessary, you see. FEM: Yes, sir.

Bathe the spinal column from the first cervical to the end of the spine, or the coccyx, with denatured alcohol; after dry well, rub until it brings the blood close to each segment along the spine. The vibrations that we would give to assist this system would be given until this as we have given has corrected the blood pressure to an extent sufficient for the centers that affect the sensory system, are relieved of their pressure, which would be within the third week after this was given in the system. Then this would be the vibration, to give such as would be found in a battery made in this manner and form: To one gallon and a half of rainwater or distilled water, we would add: Willow Charcoal.....................1 pound, Copper Sulphate...................1/2 pound, Sulphuric Acid, C.P.................1 ounce, Zinc..............................1/2 ounce. The poles that would be used in this battery should both be of copper. They are attached to two plates; one would be attached, that is, the wire, and are attached to the poles, you see? FEM: Yes, sir. Attached to the plates. One plate attached to the wrist, the other to the second, third and fourth cervical; one evening to the left side, the next evening to the right side of these vertebrae; that is, the plate that would be attached to the cervical should be long enough to cover these three segment entrances to the spinal column. This would be given each evening for thirty minutes. While this is attached to the body, we would have the feet of the body in water, with one part of water to ten parts - one part of salt to twenty parts of water. See? FEM: Yes, sir. Do this for the present. We are through.

5. Now, Mr. Cayce, you will forget all about this reading that you have given. You are feeling all right, and all of the organs of your body will function properly. You are feeling good. Now, wake up in two minutes feeling fine and all right and absolutely free from headache. [The following is a version of the above reading taken by a different stenographer. The paragraphs are numbered
