1. LS: You will have before you the Ohio Florida Associates, Incorporated, whose offices are located at ... Bldg., ..., Ohio. You will also have before you all the affairs of that corporation, all of the officers and associates, and will answer all questions which I will ask you relative to these.
2. EC: Yes, we have the corporation, the affairs and officers of same. We have had these here before. There are some changes in the affairs of the Association since we have had it here before. Some discussions among officers of same have not been satisfactory to all. Some conditions regarding the operations of Association and Corporation that have improved. Some conditions regarding holdings in same and the disposal and operations, both good and bad, these we see are changing, as such work and associations operate. Ready for questions.
3. (Q) Is it possible for the Ohio Florida Associates, Incorporated, to successfully handle 500,000 acre proposition in Fairbault, Minn.? (A) Be successful in operating and handling same. There will be same exchange in securities with same that would cause some conditions to arise that would become unsatisfactory to same. Same may be handled though with expedience and with the successful termination of same to all. This had best be handled through the channels and line in which it has already been started, rather than changed to the work of another.
4. (Q) What part of Florida would be the best for the Ohio Florida Associates, Incorporated, to concentrate its efforts upon? (A) Best on that of the edge of Everglade land, or that in the belt wherein the improvements through the planting of groves or of other material for the development of State, which comes above Okeechobee, Lake Okeechobee.
5. (Q) In view of the limited present capital of the Ohio Florida Associates, Incorporated, (EC: - interrupting) More coming in though. (LS continuing) would it be best to create interest in their plan by direct mail from Miami,

Fla., using the Dayton, Ohio, office to follow up? (A) This may be accomplished in this manner. There are other sources, however, that will bring quicker results than with those of the mail campaign, for we find with the exchange in securities and of properties, with the association that is to be made, both in Florida or in the East - Washington - these will bring those properties, those monies into the channel wherewith these would bring quicker results. These extension would be well for further operations, but well founded from that as received already and operating upon.
6. (Q) Would newspaper advertising under the name of the Ohio Florida Associates, Incorporated, be more effective and advisable than using what is termed a blind ad or using a box number? (A) Using the blind ad. Newspaper advertising too expensive for the conditions as are existent at the present time for the Association, Incorporated.
7. (Q) With reference to negotiations with Col. [3899], would it be more advisable to have Mr. Howbur, our Florida representative, interview Col. [3899], rather than Mr. [4566] in view of the urgent need of Mr. [4566] in ..., Ohio? (A) Best that Mr. [4566] in person, interview [3899] for the operations to be successful, for other conditions must enter in to be negotiated that would be reached through Col. [3899]. Do as we have given, for the conditions and the connections with same would bring about better results than from someone from in the State and in operation in the game, as it were, itself at present.
8. (Q) Could the same satisfactory results be accomplished through Mr. Howbur? (A) No.
9. (Q) What would be the capitalization most advantageous for the Ohio Florida Associates, Incorporated, to carry out the intent and purpose of the Ohio Florida Associates, Incorporated? (A) This must be carried in accordance with the operations as are carried on from time to time. Best that this be made at a figure of sufficient worth to be interesting to those who would be interested in such associations, but not of such a figure as would become heavy or burdensome, or beyond the capacities of the associates to make worth while to those who bear the brunt of same in the beginning.
10. (Q) What will be the length of time during which the Ohio Florida Associates, Incorporated, will be actively engaged in completing in Florida the plans and purposes for which the corporation has been organized? (A) Three years. Though there may be extended through same

other branches of same, or a continuation of the same association, wherein this may be made very successful, for we will find these will run for quite a number of years, as has been given, in various lines and endeavors of development of State.
11. (Q) Explain again just how the 4,800 acres of Cayce land is being handled and whether or not the Ohio Florida Associates, Incorporated, can handled this successfully. (A) Is being taken up by other individuals, who will handle same. The plans and associations as they become the most beneficial through these would be through the association of [3899], as has been outlined in same.
12. (Q) Outline definitely to sources advisable to make successful the plans as mentioned in the East. (A) Those with whom same members of association have been and are in correspondence, and in association in other associations with. These may be definitely terminated within the next six weeks.
13. (Q) Relative to compensation for the active associates, what is a fair and equitable proportion? (A) That should be governed by those themselves and not through these forces.
