Time of Reading Unknown.
1. GKN: Now, Mr. Cayce, you are going to sleep, a peaceful and restful sleep. All the organs of your body will function perfectly. You will be normal in every way. You will hear me what I say and answer the questions I shall ask you slowly and distinctly so that we may get every word. Now, Mr. Cayce, you are asleep and you have before you the body of [4690], who is in the ... Apartment House, Apartment ..., ..., Ga. You will see this body and go over it carefully and tell us what the trouble is, if anything, and what to do for it to make it normal again and will answer any questions about this body, Mr. Cayce.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. We have some conditions in this body, [4690] we are speaking of, that are abnormal, most of which are caused by reflex condition rather than from the direct or cause producing the trouble so that the treatment, the exercises and medicinal properties used from time to time to correct this disturbance in the body have been for the reflection rather than for the direct cause producing this condition in the body which is, as we find, a mis-placement of the vertebrae in the spine, you see, in the lumbar region, that at the second lumbar has been caused by the depression of the lower end of the spine. That happened when he was small, or when he was a baby when he struck his hip against something. The deflection to this portion then causes the strangulation of the gangulars [ganglia] at this place deflecting nerve energy to the various parts of the body from this, then treating the abnormal conditions expressed through the sympathetic systems from this portion of the body, causing you see, the undergrowth, the improper distribution of blood through parts of the body rebuilding the forces through all the gangulars [ganglia] developing at times the proper action of the lymphatic circulation through these parts causing at times an overflow at certain cycles of the blood supply through the secondary cardiac from the fifth or sixth dorsal to the head bringing about in its reaction the rigidity through their muscular centers.
3. Until we remove these conditions here along the spine, we will not form the proper rebuilding force to the rest of the system. The development of the mind has been good, which can be within itself made an extraordinary force through the
4690-1 Page 2
susceptibilities that this body has taken on from those that have come before.
4. To remove these conditions, of course, now we have many other reflex conditions throughout the body, but to bring the body to the normal condition, make its normal growth, to bring its normal weight, to relieve the depression, we would bring this to bear on the body. The use by someone understanding conditions by which such diagnosis of the anatomy of this body is undertaken and go through these channels to examine the portion, [over] then relieve these conditions in this form and manner: Relaxation by applied heat to lumbars and lower dorsals by bringing them into perfect unison from time to time, the vertebrae here misplaced - that is, one is lower than the other. Strengthening the muscles, holding these portions of the anatomy by the manipulation along each side and we will see we will develop then the whole body.
5. The body as we see is just entering the second cycle of life or in the development age. It is forming into the boney structures that if left in the condition will always produce this nervous, irritable condition and, later, a form of paralysis, if left, so do this as we have outlined. R. W. Aspley [R. W. Apsley (?), D.C., N.D. (?)] is the name we have to do this. As to medicinal properties there will be some of these needed as well as to his exercises which he is taking through the regular channels should be carried more under the directions of the physician in charge than at the present time. Some are harmful. Do as we have outlined if we would relieve this condition in the body of [4690].
6. (Q) What are the medicinal properties, Mr. Cayce. (A) They are the action of bromides to the system. You will understand and use these if given as we have here to him, Aspley [R. W. Apsley (?) D.C., N.D. (?)] we speak of, Grand Building, Atlanta, Ga.
7. Now, Mr. Cayce, you will dismiss this body, you will see it no more for the present. You are resting quietly and peacefully. All the organs of your body are going to function normally and perfectly and you will awake now in one minute feeling good and alright.
