Time of Reading (?) A. M.

1. FEM: Now, Mr. Cayce, you are going to sleep. (Pause) Now, Mr. Cayce, you are asleep, and all of the organs of your body will function properly. You will hear me and answer all of my questions. You have before you this morning the body of Mrs. [4704], and the body is present in this room. Now, Mr. Cayce, I want you to go over this body that you have before you from head to foot and examine the body carefully and tell me of all the ailments or disorders that you may find within this body, and then tell me what will relieve the conditions that you find. Also, Mr. Cayce, the body wants you to answer these following specific questions: What must this body do for constipation? She wants to know, also, if it was necessary, could she wait until vacation next summer before treatment. She also wants to know the condition of the intestines and the gall bladder; whether or not she has ulceration of the stomach, and what caused the bad headache yesterday? Are there any conditions of the female organs abnormal; and are the medicines that she is taking beneficial to her trouble? Has she any teeth that need to be removed? Also, are the glasses that she wears proper, or should they be changed? Mrs. [4704], present in this room.

2. EC: We have the body here. Now, the abnormal conditions as we find in this body - we find there are several that have to do with the specific conditions as asked about, of different organs. All are connected, or one of the other apart. Now, these are conditions as we find them in this body: The blood itself shows by its condition the condition that exists through the hepatic circulation, and how that foods as taken in the system act on or are enacted upon by the condition in the system. There is very little of one of the constituents of the hemoglobin in the blood, it being used faster than it is being made in the system. The circulation is deep, and we do not have sufficient amount of blood in quantity or quality. The capillary circulation is very poor. Hence, the dryness to the portions of the body except at specific times when pain or exertion produces a

4704-1 Page 2

different effect, then it is an unnatural respiratory circulation. The nerve forces in the body are very good, considering the conditions of the body through the organs themselves, or the condition existing in some of the organs themselves. The pains along the back of the head to the top of the head at times are caused more from the condition in the specific organs than from other parts of the body, though they work together, you see. FEM: Yes, sir.

3. In some instances. There is a lesion, floating lesion, in the fourth lumbar, caused by the overtaxed condition through the pelvic organs. Congestion from cold has caused the inactivity to some of these organs through the uterus, so they produce an overtaxed nervous force and its expression is given off at the fourth lumbar plexus. This causes through the sympathetic nervous system the headaches as produced in the body at times, you see. FEM: Yes, sir.

4. That is, we have those of recent date. The sensory organism is enacted upon in the nervous condition, more from the action of the pneumogastric with its coordinating center about the sympathetic cerebrospinal sensory organism, or sensory nerve energy, that feeds from the trunk portions of the body. This, we find, occurs here in the fourth and fifth cervical; hence the expression it gives to the eyes and to the other portions of the body, as the eyes are used the more here in this individual. The expression then, is shown more in that organ. So that, with the condition at present the dilation or the ability of the optic nerve to gather impressions to itself that causes to place farther away the focal plane for the receiving of the impression for sight, so it would be better for relief at the present - though they will have to be changed again soon - to change the glasses from what we have them at present, you see. FEM: Yes, sir.

5. So we will gather better conditions for the eye if one treatment is given for an adjustment to this body, we would advise, if the practical side of the body is kept in touch with the improvement, the eyes will improve as fast or faster than the other portions of the body, you see. FEM: Yes, sir.

6. All these, we find, come under the condition of the nervous force or system here. In the organs themselves, we

4704-1 Page 3

find through the stomach, that is, the pyloric end, shows some lacerations rather than ulcerations, for with the secretions as would be examined from this we find rather those of a laceration than ulceration in these portions of the stomach, you see. FEM: Yes, sir.

7. Hence, when the pneumogastric exerts itself, as it were, through this nerve, enough to produce the proper action of the stomach, it enlarges or engorges; hence, the inability of the stomach to empty itself when this condition arises, while the stomach itself hangs rather low; yet this is not the cause of the condition as exists there - fermentation rather, and too much of an acid condition, until the organ itself began, as it were, to react upon itself, that then produced the lacerations through this portion of the organ. See? FEM: Yes, sir.

8. Its reaction shows then through the duodenum, and especially through the liver in its action to create the proper secretions to produce a balance in the system throughout the intestinal digestive tract; hence the condition as produced with too much acid and the action of the gall ducts to produce the secretions necessary, for the ordinary carrying of the digestive forces throughout the system takes away from the system those mucous forces, so that we find when the feces enters the colon in its ascending portion there becomes a lack of mucous forces to carry out the normal conditions. See? FEM: Yes, sir.

9. Hence the condition as produced of inability to have the proper functioning of the digestive forces, and the chronic constipation, as it were, in this body. As for the organs, the liver and the kidneys, we find with this condition existing in the system there comes an overtaxed condition to each to carry out their proper functioning. Now, this body is not wholly sick in that it is beyond repair, or any condition of that kind. See? FEM: Yes, sir.

10. For these are conditions that if allowed to remain, become a chronic condition, such as we have through that of the intestinal forces; yet if a time - they might be hard to relieve the condition. As it is, it would be, easily, if the proper conditions are kept in the system. As to the medicinal properties taken at the present time, we are only

4704-1 Page 4

acting from one functioning organ, while those necessary to produce the balance and to keep the body fit, and especially under the condition under which it labors at present, to assist to ward off congestion, for with congestion, that is, fever or cold and fever, with that bacilli in the system with the condition that exists through the intestinal tract and from the stomach, would produce or bring about a very bad condition for this body. See? FEM: Yes, sir.

11. Now, we would give this into the system. This would be one dose, and they should be taken into the system at regular periods for a time until the tonic for the system has assuaged the condition existing in the stomach itself, and the exercises as we must take to keep the whole physical forces in their proper coordinating elements. Take this every third day, evening preferable: Senna................2 grains, Licorice Compound....1 grain, Dover's Powders....1/2 grain, Yellow Saffron.......1 grain. These will make large size capsules, but it will take one every third day for two weeks. See? FEM: Yes, sir.

12. We will take in the system this, as a cardiac and stimulant and a sedative to the various organs of the system: To one gallon of water, rainwater preferred, we would add: Yellow Dock Root.....2 ounces, Burdock Root.........2 ounces, Black Snake Root.....2 ounces. This would be reduced by simmering, not boiling, to one quart. Strain, and while warm add four ounces of Grain Alcohol with three drams of Balsam of Peru. The dose of this would be a teaspoonful, just after each meal. See? FEM: Yes, sir.

13. The exercises would be those of the lower limbs and the hips, especially those of stooping, regular exercise, now the stooping and then the circular motion for the hips, with a cold application across the lumbar and sacrum; then rub well after each exercise, which should be taken in morning.

It is best to follow this now - not wait until after a while, because we have some bad places to go through between now and summer. Do this. We are through.

14. Now, Mr. Cayce, you will forget all about this reading you have given. You are feeling all right, and all of the organs of your body are functioning properly. You are feeling fine. You gave us a splendid reading. Now, just wake up in two minutes feeling fine and absolutely free from that headache you had this morning. g.
