1. EC: Mrs. [4727], Birmingham, Ala. Yes we have her here. We have here in this body, beginning at the head, a little trouble internally and externally. First, at the second and third cervical and, also, at the fifth dorsal some slight lesions, also, sixth and seventh dorsal some lesions or contraction; a tightening up of the nerve centers here, which produced a sickening or nervous sensation to the stomach. We have a tired, worn-out nervous system to this whole body; in other words, the nervous excitement has been too great and this is the reaction from this excitement. This is now taking place in this body.
2. The body in itself is strong and well but the nerve power is weakened; there is a loss of nerve force and high tension has brought this about. We have a contraction of the nerve centers along the spine with localized congestion at the second and third cervical, fifth dorsal and sixth and seventh dorsal. Reflex from these congestions or lesions we find trouble in the cardiac end of the stomach and also, to the nerve supply of the pancreas and duodenum and to the plexus supplying the liver.
3. This reflex trouble has produced this nauseating condition, the rising of the juices or regurgitation, from the duodenum, back into the stomach. We, also, have a choking up in the larger intestines and contraction of the nerve fibres of the colon through to the rectum. This body is losing the power within itself to rebuild due to this high nerve tension of the whole nervous system.
4. In this body we have a strong will; she has a mind of her own but we have here a gradual giving away of the nerve force in her entire system. This has come gradually until we have these forces, which have partly been from the outside, in fact, largely outside forces have brought this about and has brought about this trouble in the nerve tissue, which has affected the alimentary canal, principally through the nerve, through the nerve strain. The sensory system has been overactive, in consequence, of which the reaction that is now on. If she had not had this strong will and a mind of her own, it would not have kept her up as long as it has but the supply to the forces here have been
4727-1 Page 2
disturbed as they are what has kept her up, kept this system up as long as it has been kept up.
5. This tightening up along the spinal centers has produced to this system, partially not entirely, the condition that we have now. Her mind is strong and good but it needs rest.
6. We find through the reaction brought about through the nervous system reflexes through the cardiac plexus that has produced this sickening, nauseating condition of the stomach and this has produced the effect on the heart. No organic trouble of the heart; her heart is strong. The trouble is purely reflex and her endeavor to maintain her will power or to calm her nervous system, this condition that we have of the heart has been brought about.
7. In order to bring about rest to this body, first, cleanse the system here; cleanse it thoroughly. Stimulate the liver and cleanse so as to eliminate all the poisons that have accumulated in this system. Use a mild cathartic to bring about this. Remove these lesions along the spine with an electrical force (vibration), not strong or we will have a reaction due to overstimulation. This would produce a weakening of the system; just moderate stimulation along the spine at these nerve centers. Also, tell her that she will be better as soon as this is accomplished, as we have a strong mind and a strong will power in herself. She will be better as soon as these pains are removed.
8. The action of suggestion to this body will be quite marked as through the mind this condition has gained ground and it should be controlled by suggestion and it can be. At the same time get a better impression to the mind by directing it to the stomach and intestinal tract, as they clear up. Tell her that she is better: we must remove these troubles for if we do not she will get worse.
9. The trouble with the rectum is the same as we have through the principal portion of the digestive tract; has been produced by the sluggish condition of the nervous system and of the secretions in the intestine; in other words, an inactive condition. When the condition is removed above the other trouble will clear up also. Remove these forces from the outside as much as possible. [The following reading's text is a second version of 4727-1 taken down by a different stenographer. Paragraphs are numbered sequentially for purposes of indexing.]
10. (?): You are now asleep and will be able to tell us what we want to know. You have before you Mrs. [4727], Birmingham, Ala.
11. EC: Mrs. [4727], Birmingham, Ala. Yes, we have her

here.
12. (?): Now I want you to go over her carefully and examine her thoroughly and tell us what is the matter with her, if anything.
13. EC: We have it here beginning here at the head and going down the spine here through the whole system, internally and externally here. We have first here in the head and along down the spine here at the second and third cervical. We, also, have along at the fifth dorsal; more reflex though here. We have at the sixth and seventh dorsal, pains, reflexes, tightening up of the nerve forces and centers here and sickening of stomach here; we have a tired, worn out from the nerve supply to the whole system, you see. We, also, have reflexes in the lumbars.
14. (Q) What else do you find? Tell us what else you find. (A) We have here at the beginning, at the second and third cervical lesions caused here from reflex from the pains through the neck and arms and shoulders from the contraction of the nerve centers or from the supply through these forces. We have the same at the fifth dorsal from the upper end of the stomach; reflex from the cardiac end of the stomach and the pancreas and duodenum has thrown out from the juices to the intestines. This trouble has produced this nauseating, produces a condition from the throwing out here, the rising of the juices from things taken into the stomach. We have had some choking up in the larger intestines, through the colon. We have here through the lymphatics, in taking up has allowed these to gather in the body until we have a losing of the forces in itself. We have a power from the nerve supply, which is the gray matter, rebuilding into the forces in itself, you see. We have the body here. The body is strong, well, will supply is strong, the whole system is strong. We have here the gradually giving out of the rebuilding or the resupplying forces of the supply of the carbon into the system to rebuild has gradually given until we have these forces gathering in, at the outside, from the trouble we have had in the intestinal tract.
15. (Q) Do you see any other trouble here? How about the condition of the mind? (A) Good here. We have here this way; we have the white and gray matter to the nerve forces or supply to the whole brain here. We have the brain, the mind has five senses, through the sensory system, have the force supply of the
4727-1 Page 4
brain in that the will power which is the matter is carried through the gray and white matter to the whole system, which fed a supply to it. She has a strong will; mind of her own. The supply to the forces is what has kept the system as we have it here. The tightening up along the centers here has produced a reaction into the system. We have in this body here, the mind is strong, good, has a will of its own, you see.
16. (Q) Any organic trouble about the heart? (A) Organic trouble about the heart? We have at the fifth dorsal, we have the trouble produced from the reaction at the lower end of the cardiac at the cardiac end of the stomach, reflexing from the cardiac plexus has produced a sickening, nauseating at the stomach. This has produced the effect on the heart. No trouble with the heart, that is strong. This nauseating condition with the other conditions existing, with the high will power has brought this condition about that we have of the heart.
17. (Q) What treatment would you suggest? (A) Cleanse the system here. Use Squib [Syrup of Squill?], a light action on the stomach or the lower end of the stomach with the liver and kidney. Remove those lesions along the spine here with electrical force, not strong or we will have an overtemperature or an overstimulation, which will produce a weakening condition of the system. Not an overstimulation and tell her she is better will help most of anything. We have a strong mind and will power in itself. She is better has had something to remove the pains we have had through the stomach here. The action of the suggestion to the body, through the mind of the normal body as we have it here. Get the forces or supply from the trouble through the lower end of the stomach through the intestinal tract. Get a better impression to the mind; remove these troubles and lesions along here. If we do not remove these troubles and tell her she is better, she is not and she will get worse.
18. (Q) Any trouble about the rectum? (A) Strong. We have had some along here through the lower end. Remove these troubles from the upper end of the intestinal tract and that will do away with these troubles. We have had a packing of the system until we have increased these folds at the lower end, producing inflammation to the system.
19. (Q) What would you cleanse this system with? (A) Squib [Squill?] or something that is easy. Remove
4727-1 Page 5
these forces.
