1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [4827]. Now, we find as to the disturbing factors in the physical forces of this body, these are as much from the distortions as produced in nerve reaction - from incoordination in the sympathetic and cerebrospinal system - as from PHYSICAL disorders themselves; for the physical disorders are more the EFFECTS than affectation in the system. While these, we find, are pressures - or lack of coordinations - these conditions, or these incoordinations, as are also in turn an affect of disturbances in the system. Not from brain lesions; neither from (at present) a softening of the tissue itself; neither from INJURY, direct - but rather from an affectation of the glands in the system that have to do with the creation and operation of stamina in the system. This produced by conditions existent in the system from taking in the body those quantities, or a qualified or qualitated condition for conditions from exterior, and the effects that these have produced upon the body through those glands, especially, that make for the coordination in sympathetic and cerebrospinal - especially in the region of the adrenals, the thyroid reaction, and the glands as TO the system in its progenerative or generative forces, as gentitation.
2. In the effects as created, in keeping the body quiet - the administration for the sedentary effects to the body have gradually lost their effect, so that the body - while not in that state as of drivel from the system, may become so unless there is a change in the character of such an active force in the system - that is, the nerve forces - and unless there may be accorded that which may bring a better coordination in the system, so that the muscular forces, in the sinew and tissue itself may not become inflammed, and an increased lymph and capillary circulation so bring such reactions for the body. The blood supply must, sooner or later, become attacked by same, and while we will find, the reactions to the greater extent would be of a negative
4827-1 Page 2
nature, yet there will be periods when positive reactions are also seen - especially if taken in the early portion of the day.
3. In those reactions to the general system, as of digestion and the other portions of body - we will find that these must be kept more in accord with the administrations that are given for beneficial effects to the body, whether those applications of an external nature, internal, or medicated conditions.
4. Then, in meeting the needs in the present - as related to applications - we will find that the sedative effects may be given in a manner that will bring a better and easier reaction for the whole body. These we would prepare in capsule form and give in this manner, this in each capsule - and this one dose: Oil of Eucalyptus..........................1 minim, Rectified Creosote.......................1/2 minim, Rectified Oil of Turp......................1 minim, Codeine, preferably in the tablet.......1/20 grain. This would be given not oftener than one each day, unless a reaction is necessary - when a more powerful nature may be applied.
5. We would also begin with those injections as of a typhoid serum. Give a whole course, yet in MINIMUM dosage. Then, in three to eight weeks, repeat such a course.
6. We would also use those vibrations for the system that may be found in the sinusoidal ray, of the short wave length - or that as makes for a REVERSE coil activity; the applications or anodes, or pads, being connected at the plexus where the brachial center emanates, and in the 4th lumbar. These we would not give oftener than twice each week. After the third week we may apply them in the 2nd cervical center (the first anode or plate), and in the umbilicus center (the other plate). In either application, do not let the rays be of longer duration than one and a half to two minutes.
7. It would be well also that the electrical driven vibrator, or rotator, be applied along the cerebrospinal system. This we would apply from the 1st cervical to the end of the spine.
8. In the diet - keep more to the citrous fruits, nuts, and other fruits, bewaring of apples (unless of the jenneting variety), and NO bananas. Pears, grapes, grapefruit, peaches, plums, apricots, dates, figs - ALL such may be taken, but those as given (apples and bananas) should be
4827-1 Page 3
eliminated from the diet.
9. Keep the mental surroundings for the body in an atmosphere of cheerful helpfulness; not as centralized on DO this, or DON'T do that - but let's TOGETHER do this, that, or let's TOGETHER don't do this or that. See? a guiding force. We will see a response and the nearer coordinative forces in this body of [4827].
10. We would give further instructions in six to nine weeks.
