1. GC: You will have before you the well being drilled on the lands of Madison Byron Wyrick, in Bosque County, Texas. d You will give the present depth. Is the drill running at this hour? What is formation we are now in? Does lime or shale predominate? Is the formation of the creative substance or that in which oil is retained or stored? If present formation is not storage, or holding substance, at what depth will we enter the formation in which free oil is contained in quantities sufficient to flow to the surface? Will there be gas pressure sufficient to flow to the surface? Will this holding formation be composed of sand, lime, shale, or some other substance? How may we know when we are entering the producing substance? Is there any way to prevent cavings? Is it likely the caving conditions will stop operations before production is had? Is equipment in condition to finish production without further repairs? If not, what is necessary? Is there any more information we should have to insure successful termination?
2. EC: Yes, we have the operations here. We have had these before, you see. Now we find this much in the condition as we have had and given here before. The cavings as cause delay from time to time, as at present time, now, will we find soon decrease to the extent wherein no more trouble will be caused from same. This, as we see, comes from the formation in the second stratum above where now drilling. The action of the formation at present is more of the shale, changing soon to the more lime. The character of formation is that of creative and of a storage formation, for we find a continual increase in the amount of oil and gas that permeates the formations. These, we find, will within the next few feet change into that of the harder, with a very black lime. In this, then, we will find the live oil, which will rise to the top of the hole; with the increase into the sands in this lime we will encounter the gas that would raise the oil above the derrick, far above too. In the character then of oil, as we will find, of very long life

and of high gravity, see? Only needs that persistence and care in the drilling be carried on. The drill, as we find, in very good condition. The chest, or steam chest on engine, will need some attention. The rest of equipment where new parts have been placed are very good. These should carry out the part of the operations to the successful termination of same. The care in drilling, then, is as given. Tight line, with a short stroke, so that there may be no cavings that will cause the tightening of tools, see? Be careful in the joining of tools, especially in the nipple at the present time, or thimble, see? These, as we find, will soon bring the production as is necessary to make this a successful operation.
3. (Q) Is the drill running at this hour? (A) This, as given. As we see at the present moment, or the last few hours, been attending to those conditions regarding the cavings, see?
4. (Q) Are they baling? (A) Baling.
5. (Q) You will give the present depth? (A) Fifty-eight seventy-six (5876).
6. (Q) How soon will they be ready to begin drilling? (A) In the morning.
7. (Q) About how many days before they will reach the production? (A) In a very short while. Days - one to two. This will be successful here, we see. Only needs the persistence, see, as has been given. Though we have had the conditions that were disheartening, we will find with the success these will be surprising also.
