TEXT OF READING 4995-1 M 39 (Electrical Engineer)

This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 25th day of September, 1928, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [4995], via Mr. [257].

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. Now, we find in many respects the physical forces of the body are very good, yet there are those conditions existent with the physical forces of the body, whose reaction in the general functioning - especially as in reference to portions of the system - are not satisfactory. These, as we find, may be corrected if taken in time - though, if allowed to run on may produce a general debilitation that would leave lasting results in the physical functioning.

2. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [4995], we are speaking of. First:

3. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this very good in some respects, though there is seen there is carried in the blood stream the effects of conditions that may cause in the liver and hepatic circulation disturbances that will produce either that of an improper coordination of the eliminations or discrimination between the lymphatic and the hepatic circulation through this portion of the boy, or becoming more localized in outer portion may produce abrasions, blisters, or disturbances in the outer portion of body. This, then, a form of that which may be called malarial condition, or the RESULTANT effect of congestion from "flu", or influenza.

4. In the reactions this produces in the nerve system, there are general centers and specific conditions that have become involved in and from this condition existent in the internal or in the circulatory system. These, as seen, affect directly those conditions where weakness in activity or from stooping position, and the congestion lodged in the segments and about the ganglions have caused DIRECT reaction through the pressure produced from the 5th and 6th dorsal, coming to the secondary cardiac reflexes, and from the 4th and 6th cervical, see? this coming to the bronchials and the upper chambers of the throat or larynx proper. In the reaction of these there is a general tendency of the tickling sensation

in throat, without being able to produce a spittle or mucus from such, save after rest, or after nominal reaction of the nerve system (cerebrospinal and sympathetic), being then able to pick up conditions and produce that which becomes as spittle as thrown off. This taken back into the system may produce bad effects, even with the bronchials, larynx and throat - ESPECIALLY so through the action of outside influence, or vibrations electrically given, or through the business in which the body is engaged. Hence there is the NECESSITY especially of the correction of the conditions existent, for the betterment of the body.

5. In the reaction as produced in the organs themselves: At times there is redness of the eyes, watery condition as seems to appear at times following too heavy sleeping or too soon awakening. These are the effects of a disturbed condition between the sensory and the sympathetic system. Now these are of one, yet their reactions to the system are as to the organs of the senses as related to the rest of the system, meaning sensory system, as spoken of here. In the reaction, too, of the conditions, there is seen at times the tendency of too much reaction, or too free reaction, from the kidneys. This a disturbance wherein this portion of the hepatic circulation attempting to care for that condition being produced in the body, through that existent in the blood supply, and the liver being choked, cold, or the hepatic circulation below normal. Those are the reflexes from other portions of the system, as is seen from the general tired condition when the body finds sudden relaxes. Tendency to be over buoyant at times when something is well pleasing, but falling very flat when something is displeasing. Irritable at times to the degree that the body finds same displeasing even to self.

6. To meet the needs of the conditions at present, these we would add for the correction of the vibratory forces as set in system, for the correction of conditions as would apply to the system in itself as regarding the condition existent in blood and in those that give the incentive through the nerve and muscular forces of the body. Add this as medicinal properties:

7. First we would make this as a solution: Take 4 ounces of Wild Cherry Bark, to which add 8 ounces distilled water. Reduce by simmering (not boiling too heavily, and retaining the steam when this is being boiled) to half the quantity. Strain. Allow to cool. Then add 4 ounces cane sugar. Reduce again to the original quantity, see? (first dissolving the sugar, of course, in 2 ounces of water), reduce to the original quantity by slow boiling. Then we

would add to this: Compound Syrup of Sarsaparilla........1 ounce, Tincture Stillingia.................1/2 ounce, Syrup of Rhubarb....................1/4 ounce, Oil of Sassafras....................1/4 ounce, Tincture of Capsici...................2 minims, Elixir calisaya.....................1/2 ounce. Shake the solution well together before the dose is taken. Take at least a teaspoonful three times each day.

8. Beware of too much meats being eaten by the body, especially of sea foods. Drink plenty of water and flush the system at least twice each week with enemas (high enemas). Well occasionally to follow these with small quantity of Russian Oil (in the enema).

9. By manipulation, osteopathically given, correct those conditions as exist in the dorsal and cervical region.

10. Do that. We will find in three to three and a half weeks the body will feel near physically fit. Ready for questions.

11. (Q) What will relieve the cough? (A) Removing the condition as has been suggested, for this is the cause, as we have seen and given. We are through for the present.
