1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [5017].
3. As we find there are conditions preventing the better physical functioning of the body. These in their affectation, or the effects produced, are the incoordination between cerebrospinal and sympathetic nervous systems.
4. There was in times back an injury or strain to the muscular forces in the areas of the 11th and 12th dorsal. This extended to a lesion formed in the lower portion of the 9th dorsal. The pressure produced there, between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal systems, caused a slowing of the activity of the foods or digestive fluids first through the jejunum. Reflexly there has formed, then, the disturbances to the lower portion of the gall duct area. Then we had toxic conditions arising in the system from these suppressions. The lesions formed along the right side, along the area of the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th dorsal and extended sympathetically to the last lumbar, so as to be felt at times in the weakness of the back.
5. Thus pressures were caused upon the nerves extending to the locomotories - or the sciatic center in the lower portion of the cerebrospinal system.
6. Then these are those effects produced: poor eliminations through alimentary canal, a tendency of a slow peristaltic movement in lower portion of abdomen at times, a disturbance at times in regard to a prostate disorder, catches in the sciatic area, the tendencies for the producing of acute pains all the way down the limb when there is a change - especially - in atmospheric pressures.
7. These as we find are the sources, the reflexes. At other
5017-1 Page 2
times we will find reflex activities in regard to the digestion, pains through portions of the chest and heart areas. For as there is the disturbance in the cerebrospinal nerve and blood supply the organs of this system are affected more, though we will find reflexes at times also to organs of the sensory system.
8. We find that these conditions may be materially aided. There are tendencies for the lesion areas to produce inflammation.
9. These may be best removed by a manipulation to gradually, not all at once (for the condition has been of long-standing), to break up the congestions along the areas indicated. This may be done best by relaxing the body first by having two or three or even half a dozen osteopathic adjustments, combined with or followed by the short wave electrical treatments to assist in breaking up the congestions.
10. Begin first with the adjustments osteopathically administered. When three to four of these have been given, then begin with the short wave electrical treatments over the areas indicated where the conditions exist. In such treatments it is necessary that the lumbar-sacral be coordinated with the adjustments made, as well as the upper cervical areas, or especially the 3rd, 4th and 5th cervicals, as also those centers in the areas directing the flow of impulse of circulation to the 1st and 2nd cervical.
11. Do keep the colon cleansed. Once or twice during the period of the adjustments, do have a colonic irrigation to relieve the toxic conditions through the whole area of the colon. So long as there is mucous indicated in the stool it will be necessary to have the colonics occasionally to keep the colon purified.
12. Thus the conditions will be adjusted in the area where first there were those strains. Relieve these tensions and we will bring better conditions to the body.
13. When there are the acute disturbances which arise at times of evenings, or when the body rests in one particular position and there are the "catches", as it were, we would apply Glyco-Thymoline Packs over the area of the 9th dorsal downward. Over these Packs we would apply salt heat; that is, make a quilted pad of salt that may be heated and applied over the Glyco-Thymoline Packs. This is merely a palliative measure, though it will tend to alleviate a great deal of the pain and produce nearer to the correct balance in the alkalinity through the lower portion of alimentary canal.
14. When the first series of eight to ten osteopathic
5017-1 Page 3
treatments have been taken, then leave off these for a period of a month, but keep up the colonics occasionally and the Glyco-Thymoline Packs when there is pain (to alkalize the system). Then have another series of at least eight more osteopathic adjustments. Thus we will bring better conditions to this body.
15. With the treatments outlined we find that the foods taken may assimilate in such a manner as to have their direct effect upon the system.
16. Do supplement the foods with the B-1 Complex vitamins at periods. The continual taking of such will do very little good, however, unless the system is so adjusted that these may be assimilated so that the strength and vitality may go into the system through glandular activity and be distributed through blood and nerve supply. When the corrections are made these supplementary vitamins may be taken (not in the beginning) and assimilated by the body so as to gain strength. Thus we will keep down those tendencies for periods of weariness, headache, tired eyes, and the general "all over" or "let down" feeling.
17. Do these and we will find better conditions for this body.
18. Ready for questions.
19. (Q) What causes and what can be done to correct rapid pulse rate? (A) This comes from the colon pressure as associated with the central nerve and blood supply and central organs of the body. When these pressures and stresses are removed so that nerve tensions are released, we will find that these conditions will of themselves become equalized.
