Time of Reading Set bet. 3:30 to 4:30 P. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Va.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, as we find, while these conditions are rather serious, there need not be operative measures, provided measures are taken to cause activities not to be too severe, but do dissolve - or eliminate sources of the disturbance.
3. That there has formed crystallization or stones does not indicate the condition is too hard to remove or dissipate. This is in the gall duct area, but should there come too great an activity of the body, so that inflammation arises, then it would require operative measures. Don't take the temperature to merely convince yourself you have or haven't a temperature, but do of evening or morning, or both, take the temperature. Needn't talk about it, just write it down and see the variations, but begin with this, and don't be too active until there are those changes brought about. If there are no changes brought about, operate; but this is too serious to operate without other measures being attempted first, and if the body will make up its mind, here is the way it can get rid of this without operation. It is kind of messy, but not nearly so messy as being operated upon, or as the after effects which will be in the body from operation:
4. Have at least three to four thicknesses of old flannel saturated thoroughly with Castor Oil, then apply electric heating pad. Let this get just about as warm as the body can well stand, cover with oilcloth to prevent soiling of linen. Keep this on every afternoon or evening for an hour. Then sponge off with soda water. Do this for at least seven days without breaking. One hour each day, same hour each day.

After and during these periods, take small doses of Olive Oil, two, three times each day. These should not be so severe as to cause strain, but be careful after about the third or fourth day to observe the stool, and there should be indications of the gall ducts being emptied, and should be gravel, and there should be some stones. This can be eliminated. If there are none indicated, rest one day, then repeat for another seven days, and we will find changes come about, unless there is undue exercise.
5. The diet through the periods should be liquid and semi-liquid, such as liver, beef-juice, blanc mange, raw vegetables, tomato-juice, and such nature are well for the body. Fruit, but not raw apples. Cooked apples, raisins, stewed apricots, stewed peaches, such as these, not in too big quantities, but these should correct conditions. After, or if there are indications, then have, after a rest period of a week, adjustments made osteopathically, with draining of the gall-duct. Do NOT have such treatments until after the Oil Packs. This would be dangerous, but we should find real results.
6. Ready for questions.
7. (Q) Should Packs extend clear across abdomen or just what area? (A) Over the gall duct area, and extend to the caecum down the right side, and across the abdomen.
8. We are through with this reading.
